Louis Smith will never date Lucy Mecklenburgh again.
The Olympic gymnast has remained on good terms with the businesswoman since he dumped her earlier this year following just over a year of dating but he has admitted he doesn’t see a reconciliation taking place any time soon.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "No, not at all [there’s no unfinished business between us]. I’m 27 now, and I want my next relationship to be right, and me and Lucy weren’t right for each other.
"You know, that doesn’t mean that I thought she was a bad person or anything, I thought she was a lovely person, she has a lovely family she has great morals, she just wasn’t right.
"We did have a lot of really nice times together, so it would be a shame to have a sour relationship with her afterwards when I do actually like the girl. You know what, we’re good friends."
And, although Louis is happy living a single life, Lucy has admitted she’s really struggling to get a date since their split and is trying really hard to be a little more approachable.
She said previously: "No one’s really tried chatting me up yet. My friends say I’m the most unapproachable person and don’t realise it. Someone will come up to me and ask if I want a drink and I’ll be like, ‘No, I’ve just bought one.’ "
Meanwhile, there’s only one lady in Louis’ life at the moment and that’s his 17-month-old pet pooch Luna.
