Lib Dem MP calls for support for axed Love Island star Sherif Lanre

Liberal Democrat MP Norman Lamb is calling for for ITV bosses to support axed ‘Love Island’ contestant Sherif Lanre.
The 20 year old left the villa this week by "mutual consent" with producers for breaking one of the ITV2 reality dating show’s rules and so far there has been no confirmation as to what Sherif did to be kicked out of the villa.
In the wake of departure, Sherif has been the subject of relentless social media speculation over what he did and now former Health Minister Lamb has urged ITV to ensure there is proper post-show care in place for him to ensure he copes with the fallout following the tragic suicides of past stars Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon.
Lamb is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "There has been a tragic lack of care for reality stars."
Meanwhile, it has been reported that ‘Love Island’ producers do not want to the truth about Sherif’s indiscretion to become public knowledge because they fear the show could be axed due to public pressure.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "There is extra pressure this year and producers have remind everyone taking part to be extra careful. All contestants have been told they can speak to anyone at any time if they are feeling under strain but have also been reminded of the rules they signed up to."
Sherif addressed his departure on his Instagram account after arriving back home and insisted he is "all good" despite his early and enforced exit from the villa.
He wrote: "Thank you to everyone including my friends and family for the support I’ve come back to. I appreciate you all and hope I provided some good, positive moments during my time on ‘Love Island’, and for anyone wondering, I’m all good."
