Karrueche Tran "fell in love" with Chris Brown.
The 29-year-old model and actress never could have predicted that she’d get in a relationship with the ‘Loyal’ hitmaker – who was handed a permanent restraining order to not contact her back in June – but insists things just happened organically.
She said: "I met Chris, actually, on a styling job. I was a personal assistant to a stylist. That was the direction I was going in my career. I was on this job. We met. You know, he did his whole charming thing. The base of our relationship started as us just being friends. It was work related. I didn’t have sex with him, anything like that. Then, you know, I got into my emotions and I fell in love with him."
Karrueche remained fairly tight-lipped about the restraining order she had made against him but did say she decided to go down that route so she could "protect her safety".
Speaking about the restraining order, she said simply: "It came to a point where I felt like I needed to protect my safety."
The pair haven’t spoken or crossed paths in the last few months.
She added: "It’s so interesting. We have not recently in the past few months or whatever, we haven’t cross paths."
Now single, Karrueche is trying to "self-invest" rather than rush into another relationship.
Appearing on The Wendy Williams Show, she said: "I’m so into myself right now. I’m trying to self-invest with, you know, Claws and everything, I just want to keep that momentum going and just protect me and make sure I am on the right path."
