Jeff Lynne’s ELO announce one-off show

Jeff Lynne’s ELO have announced a one-off UK show.
Following the group’s successful performance in the Sunday afternoon Legends slot at Glastonbury festival yesterday (26.06.16), the band have announced they will be performing at Wembley on June 24, 2017.
But the ‘Mr. Blue Sky’ hitmakers certainly won’t be playing on the Saturday of next year’s festival as their Wembley date is on the same day.
Tickets for the gig go on sale on Friday (01.07.16) priced between £35 and £110.
The band’s sold-out tour ended in their home city of Birmingham on Friday (24.06.16) before they headed to Worthy Farm, Somerset, south west England, for their Glastonbury performance on Sunday.
Jeff Lynne’s ELO – formerly known as Electric Light Orchestra/ ELO – were a hit with the crowd on the famous Pyramid Stage and Noel Gallagher admitted before the festival that they were one of the few bands he was looking forward to seeing at the event.
He said: "The line-up isn’t exactly great though. Not talking about the headliners, but the entire thing … I think, ‘What am I going to see?’ ELO, they’re good. I try to go every year with the missus. We didn’t go last year so we’re going this year and I have the time off."
Jeff Lynne’s ELO followed in the footsteps of the likes of Dolly Parton, Tony Bennett and Lionel Richie by playing in the so-called Legends slot at Glastonbury.
Their performance was initially announced on Chris Evans’ Radio 2 show in February.
He said: "There’s nostalgia, there’s a bit of retro in there, there’s solid gold. Who is worthy of that slot today?
"Well, it’s more of a case of is that slot worthy of this artist this year … playing the Sunday afternoon slot on the Pyramid Stage this year will be the one and only Jeff Lynne and his ELO."
