Jayne Torvill reveals surgery plans

Jayne Torvill is facing a spine operation after years of pushing her body to the limits on the ice rink.
The 62-year-old former Olympian – who stars alongside Christopher Dean on ‘Dancing on Ice’ – has revealed she’ll soon need to go under the knife due to a cyst on her spine.
Jayne – who is planning to have surgery in 2020 – shared: "When it’s bad, it’s bad. Touch wood, at the moment it’s under control. But surgery is in my future."
Chris under-went surgery four months ago and he says he’s simply learned to live with the everyday day aches and pains of being an ice skater.
He told The Sun on Sunday’s Bizarre on Sunday Column: "I’ve still got loads of injuries. They don’t go away, you just live with them. If I was a racehorse I’d be mincemeat by now."
Meanwhile, Jayne and Christopher recently claimed that the first same-sex couple on ‘Dancing on Ice’ have a huge "responsibility".
The head judges are excited to welcome former Steps band-member Ian ‘H’ Watkins and pro Matt Evers as the very first same-sex partnership on the show – but they know a lot of eyes will be watching them.
Christopher explained: "They have a responsibility as I think a lot of people will be watching them. I’m really fascinated to see how they treat the partnership, and what they do with it."
