Hollyoaks boss teases Cindy Cunningham stunt and hints at character death

‘Hollyoaks’ boss Bryan Kirkwood says Cindy Cunningham will be "at the heart" of this year’s autumn stunt – and he has confirmed a character will "leave the show".
The Channel 4 soap are gearing up for an explosive week of episodes next month – just weeks after a bomb went off in the village as part of the far-right extremist plot – and the eps will feature "loads of danger, jeopardy, and life-endangering events".
He said: "Cindy [Stephanie Waring], in all of her glorious vanity and greed, will be at the heart of this year’s stunt.
"The stunt week will see the reveal of the true paternity of baby DJ. Luke will fall spectacularly off the wagon and disaster strikes.
"As well as that, we’ll have the Breda story and the Scott/Mitchell/Cleo story featuring in the week. There are exciting peaks in all of those stories.
"There’s loads of danger, jeopardy, life-endangering events – but lots of heart too. And one character leaves the show…"
Cindy and Tom Cunningham (Ellis Hollins) plan to take over the village this autumn by building the Cunningham Grand Bazaar in honour of their late father Gordon Cunningham (Bernard Latham), but the building work leads to some crane chaos and a potential sticky end for one character.
Bryan added to Digital Spy: "They’ve bought some land from Grace and the Donovans – The Loft yard – where they start to build. This sets the stage for what’s to come."
Just last month, Kieron Richardson teased the soap’s October stunt will be their "biggest, best ever".
He said: "Jake Quickenden is involved! It’s always amazing and the director doing it this year did our iconic bus crash years ago.
"They bring in the special effects team and Bryan Kirkwood said it’s gonna be our biggest, best ever."
