Harry Redknapp says I’m A Celebrity eating ‘won’t be a problem’

Harry Redknapp thinks he will be fine to go without food on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ – because he doesn’t eat until the evening in everyday life.
The 71-year-old football manager tends to skip breakfast and lunch so he isn’t expecting to be craving food in the Australian jungle setting, where he and his campmates will be living on a diet of rice and beans until they win some more luxurious grub in the Bushtucker Trials.
He said: "I have got bad eating habits. I can go all day without eating until the evening. Eating won’t be a problem for me."
The former West Ham and Spurs boss also insists he doesn’t expect the sleeping arrangements to be an issue because when he was younger he used to go on holidays to Kent hop picking, up to the age of 15, during which he slept on a wooden bed.
He said: "It was incredible when you look back. We had a basic wooden base of a bed with straw to make the pillowcase and mattress.
"You had to clear out the mice and bird nests and we had no bath! At least [with ‘I’m A Celebrity’] you won’t have to get up at 6am to pick hops."
And Harry doesn’t expect the jungle to be a tougher experience than when he was a football manager, admitting it was a "lonely" job at times.
He added: "There’s nothing tougher than being a manager of a football team when things aren’t going well.
"When the results are bad, believe you me being a manager is a very tough, lonely occupation.
"You feel responsible however many people support your team every week. The buck stops with you. You haven’t got many friends when it’s not going well as a football manager.
"So no I don’t think doing this will be tougher. But to be honest, I have not actually watched the programme.
"I watch sport all day and all night when I’m at home and we are out three to four nights a week."
