Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip Asia stint halted by coronavirus

Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix’s planned stint around Asia for ‘Gordon, Gino & Fred: Road Trip’ has been postponed.
The TV chefs and maître d’ were planning to head to Nepal and spend three weeks galavanting across Asia for their hit ITV series, but due to the coronavirus pandemic – which started in Wuhan in China – and the restrictions on travel, the trio are reportedly having to shelve their plans for what was set to be their "most adventurous trip to date" for the time being.
According to a source, filming in Asia will be unlikely to go ahead until next year.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "Gordon, Gino and Fred’s latest road trip was going to see them heading to Nepal.
"The plan was for them to travel around and film in as many Asian countries as they could fit in over a three-week period.
"It was going to be their most adventurous trip to date — in terms of the countries they visited as well as the food they would have experienced and the culture.
"But now it seems Asia is going to be firmly off the cards for some time and it’s unlikely any filming will be able to take place until well into 2021.
"Obviously, it’s gutting for them all as they love working together, and going away on their work trips has become a highlight for Gordon, Gino and Fred.
"They want to make sure the next series is just as outrageous, however, so even though their next adventure may be closer to home, they want it to be the best yet."
The popular show has been packed with drama and hilarious anecdotes.
As well as near-death experiences, the clan also had some naked experiences, with Gordon revealing Gino and Fred stripped off and jumped in his pool at this Los Angeles home, and the nude ‘First Dates’ star then jumped on the chef’s 73-year-old mum.
On their American jaunt, Gino nearly died in a high-speed desert buggy crash.
The 43-year-old star smashed the vehicle into their camper van, and began fearing for his life as he was covered in petrol.
He said: "I saw the RV coming very close, and I thought, ‘OK, that’s it.’ I was going 70 or 80 miles an hour, and when I hit it I thought, ‘This is over now. I’m going to die.’
"The thing that scared me the most is that my fuel-tank burst and I had petrol all over me."
Gordan, who had whiplash following the incident, admitted it was fortunate Gino hit the RV side on.
While Gino didn’t have any serious injuries, he couldn’t continue filming until 24 hours later.
The trio were riding the buggies around a race track in Mexico at the time, and Gordon admitted they had been warned to curb their need for speed.
He added: "They warned us, ‘One more incident and we’d be banned from the track.
"We hit the first corner, and we got told to moderate our speed.
"I backed off and all of a sudden, Gino’s car shot past me. He lost control, hit the RV and there’s paramedics, gas everywhere, a tyre burst."
