Emmerdale’s Ash Palmisciano wants Matty Barton to date Victoria Sugden

Emmerdale’s Ash Palmisciano doesn’t know if Matty Barton and Victoria Sugden will get together after she told him she wants nothing to do with him.
The barmaid – played by Isabel Hodgins – told her long-time friend that their relationship was over after she found out that his mother Moira Barton (Natalie J. Robb) had murdered psychotic nurse Emma Barton (Gillian Kearney) last year.
Speaking to the Metro.co.uk, Ash said: "Victoria says that it changes everything with Matty and he’s heartbroken by it all and doesn’t know what to do.
"When it came to it and the police were there, Matty had to choose between Moira and Victoria and he chose his mum because he’s a true Barton. He’s got to stand by his mum because she stuck by him – he’s like, this is the least I can do. It’s a nice step in their relationship – it’s left him heartbroken though. I’m interested to see how that will play out.
"Matty has admitted he has feelings for Victoria but at the moment, Victoria wants nothing to do with him and she actually goes on to pursue other people. That might push Matty to make a statement, we’ll see."
Their relationship initially confused viewers but Ash is pleased that people are starting to warm to the idea because the way their love has blossomed is real.
Ash explained: "It’s really interesting because at first, there was a lot of people saying that they’re childhood friends and it’s weird for them to get together. But I suppose in life that does happen sometimes, people are friends first and then a relationship develops.
"But I think some fans are worried that it will ruin the friendship. Weirdly, in the last few weeks, more people have been up for them being together so it does change. We’ll have to see, like all romances, it won’t run smoothly, it’d be boring wouldn’t it? So there’ll be a few heartaches first before anything happens."
