Emilia Clarke soaked director Thea Sharrock at her Me Before You audition

Emilia Clarke poured water over Thea Sharrock during her ‘Me Before You’ audition.
The 29-year-old actress accidentally drenched the film’s director whilst auditioning for the lead role – Louisa Clark – in the film adaptation of Jojo Moyes’ romantic bestseller.
Clarke’s clumsy mishap is similar to that of her beautiful alter-ego, who rips her skirt during a gruelling interview with Camilla Traynor, in the novel and forthcoming flick.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the premiere of the romantic drama, held at London’s Curzon cinema on Wednesday (25.05.16), Sharrock said the embarrassing moment led her to cast the ‘Game of Thrones’ star for the position, Sharrock said: "We saw 300 women for the role. [It was] a very, very long process. About three or four months. It was long, 300 is a lot.
"When Emilia Clarke came to be interviewed with me she walked into the room and as she took off her coat she knocked over a bottle of water so that’s when I knew she was my Louisa Clark.
"Sam (Claflin) and Emilia they’re amazing. In the audition it was there, right from the off. It suddenly made a very difficult process very easy."
The movie follows Will Traynor’s (Calflin) struggle with paraplegia after he was run over by a motorcycle and Louisa’s journey to become Will’s carer where she attempts to dissuade him from taking his own life.
Sharrock revealed she enjoyed the collaborative process and working alongside the author to create the perfect version of the novel.
Speaking about her feature film debut, she explained: "Absolutely fantastic, everybody got on brilliantly. I think everybody had a very special affection for the peace itself and that helped everything. It meant that we were all trying to tell the same story which is not always the case but in this case it was.
"I loved the characters. I love the difficulties within it. I love the traditional sort of old fashioned feel almost of the love story. I felt it was an important story to tell."
‘Me Before You’ is set to be released on June 3.
