Duchess of Cornwall hosts reception for Rio 2016 heroes

The Duchess of Cornwall has hosted a celebratory reception for the British Equestrian teams at the 2016 Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Camilla, who is a patron of the British Equestrian Federation, has met with medal-winning equestrian stars and their support staff from the Rio Games at Clarence House in London.
Among the guests in attendance at the event was Paralympic triple Rio gold medallist Sophie Christiansen, who was recently awarded a CBE by Queen Elizabeth.
Another attendee was equestrian Spencer Wilton, who wore his medal from the Rio Olympics for the special occasion.
Meanwhile, it was recently announced that the Duchess is to judge BBC Radio 2’s annual 500 Words short story competition for kids.
The 69-year-old royal, who has been married to Prince Charles since 2005, made her judging debut for the children’s creative writing competition last year, and is set to take a seat on the panel once again in 2017.
The news was announced on the radio station’s Twitter page earlier this month, with presenter Chris Evans saying: "Secure your place at the 500 Words final from the Tower of London!
"BBC Radio 2’s writing competition for kids, with our honorary judge Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall."
The Duchess is to be joined on the judging panel by authors Charlie Higson, Malorie Blackman, Frank Cottrell-Boyce, and Francesca Simon.
Under the rules of the competition, entrants to the competition must be from one of two age group categories – ages five to nine and ages 10 to 13.
The winning stories will be announced at the Tower of London on June 16, and will be read out to audiences by a star-studded line up of narrators.
