Construction worker dies on set of Harrison Ford’s new Blade Runner

A building worker has died on the set of ‘Blade Runner 2’ starring Harrison Ford.
The Hungarian labourer, 28, was killed in the tragic accident at Budapest’s Origo Studios which housed part of the set of the forthcoming sci-fi sequel.
The man was carrying out work to a platform which was being dismantled when it suddenly collapsed on top of him, however the exact cause of why it crumbled is not yet known.
In a statement, Origo Studios said: "The worker was underneath a platform, upon which the set was constructed, when it suddenly collapsed."
Though the set was part of the construction for the upcoming movie – which recently signed Jared Leto to its already impressive cast – none of the actors or crew were at the location as filming there had not yet begun.
The follow-up to Sir Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi classic will see Ford return as Rick Deckard and stars Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright and Dave Bautista play new characters.
Denis Villeneuve – whose other credits include ‘Sicario’ and ‘Prisoners’ – will direct the film set several decades after the original and although the plot has remained largely under wraps, it is due to pick up the story of burnt-out special police operative Deckard, who is tasked with hunting down a group of bioengineered androids known as replicants.
The tale, written by Hampton Fletcher and Michael Green, follows on from the dystopian cult classic which is based on the novel ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?’ by Philip K. Dick.
‘Blade Runner 2’ is due to be released on October 6, 2017.
