Ashley Slanina-Davies for permanent Hollyoaks return

Ashley Slanina-Davies will return to ‘Hollyoaks’ permanently.
The 26-year-old actress has made a number of guest appearances on the early-evening soap since her departure in 2012 but she’s now set to reprise her role as young mum Amy Barnes on a regular basis.
Speaking to the Digital Spy, she said of her forthcoming gig: "I couldn’t be more excited to bring Amy back to Hollyoaks."
The blonde beauty will return to the Chester village alongside Duncan James – who will play her handsome on-screen boyfriend Ryan – but it won’t be an easy ride for their alter-egos as they are set to find themselves caught up in a bitter love triangle with Amy’s ex-boyfriend Ste McQueen (Kieron Richardson).
Ashley explained: "Moving back to Liverpool for such an exciting storyline and working with old friends like Kieron and new ones like Duncan will be fun. I think Amy might find herself stuck between a rock and a hard place with those two!"
The explosive storyline will see viewers fall in love with Ste as he battles to prove he’s a good role model for the former couple’s children Leah and Lucas but fans will also be torn by the fact, on paper, Ryan is the better person to raise the youngsters.
A show insider explained: "These much-loved characters will be caught in a universal tug-of-love which will chime with many of the audience. Ste has made a lot of mistakes, not least his crystal meth addiction, and the ghosts of his past will catch up with his current woes. Viewers will be torn between luckless Ste and a man who on paper is a better example for his children but not their dad."
Meanwhile, Ashley was a regular on the soap between 2005 and 2012, during which time her character was involved in a teenage pregnancy, domestic abuse and a fake cancer scam.
