Rosamund Pike and Chris O’Dowd for new BBC Two comedy

Rosamund Pike and Chris O’Dowd are to star in a new BBC Two comedy series.
The 40-year-old actress and the ‘Bridesmaids’ star will play warring married couple Louise and Tom in ‘State Of The Union’, which was been written by top author Nick Hornby, who is pleased the BBC have picked up the show.
He said: "I am delighted that ‘State Of The Union’ will be shown on the BBC – it’s absolutely the right place for it, and it was hard for us to imagine any other home in the UK."
The series will comprise of 10 10-minute episodes in which the couple meet in the pub immediately before their weekly marital therapy session.
Each episode shows the viewers what their lives were like, what drew them together, and what happened to make them fall apart.
Patrick Holland, BBC Two controller, said: "I am so delighted to bring this to the BBC Two audience.
"The writing is so fantastic, the performances from Rosamund Pike and Chris O’Dowd are pitch perfect and the direction is the very best in the world. What a treat."
Sue Deeks, head of programme acquisition at the BBC, added: "Wonderfully well-written, directed and performed, ‘State Of The Union’ is funny, poignant, insightful, engaging and unique.
"Each 10-minute episode is a polished gem."
But this won’t be Rosamund’s first time on the BBC.
Earlier this year, she voiced the Black Rabbit of Inlé in the BBC’s big-budget adaptation of ‘Watership Down’, which also featured the vocal talents of James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, John Boyega, Sir Ben Kingsley, Gemma Arterton and Olivia Colman, among others.
And in 2010, Rosamund portrayed Pussy Galore in a BBC Radio 4 adaptation of James Bond movie ‘Goldfinger’.
