Jeremy Vine’s wheel-y good idea

Jeremy Vine will cycle between studios to ensure he can present his new self-titled show and his Radio 2 programme.
The in-demand host will take the reins on Channel 5 consumer show ‘Jeremy Vine’ – formerly known as ‘The Wright Stuff’ – next month, and has come up with a wheel-y good way of ensuring he can still front that and ‘The Jeremy Vine Show’ on the BBC radio station.
According to The Sun’s Bizarre TV column, the 53-year-old presenter will shoot the news review section of his TV programme in front of a studio audience before pedalling across London for his radio show.
The former ‘Points of View’ presenter will co-host ‘Jeremy Vine’ with current ‘The Wright Stuff’ co-presenter Storm Huntley.
The show’s revamp comes after host Matthew Wright quit following 18 years at the helm, and he filmed his emotional final episode in June.
Matthew choked back tears as he told viewers: "I’d like to thank you at home.
"Eighteen years we have spent together. That is a long time for stuff to happen. I got divorced. Coming in to do the show that day, the day of a break-up, that is an experience."
Jeremy recently admitted he cannot wait to get started on the programme.
He wrote on Twitter: "I’m so excited by this. The show is a perfect fit with my ongoing role @BBCRadio2 and I’ve often watched the wonderful Matthew Wright with envy and admiration. More soon. Thanks for all the messages."
Since landing the Channel 5 gig, Jeremy has quit ‘Points of View’, which will no longer be "presenter led", after 10 years.
