Stormzy, The Flaming Lips and The Vaccines join Boardmasters line up

Stormzy, The Flaming Lips and The Vaccines have been added to the Boardmasters festival line up.
The 23-year-old grime superstar, Wayne Coyne’s wild rock band and the indie legends will perform at the surfer music extravaganza, held at Watergate Bay in Cornwall, South West England, between August 9 and 13.
They’ll be joined by the likes of Frank Turner, Gorgon City, Kate Nash, Giggs, Pete Tong and Lethal Bizzle as well as headliners Two Door Cinema Club, Alt-J and Jamiroquai.
For the latter, it will be one of the ‘Cosmic Girl’ group’s first big live comeback shows following the release of their eighth studio album ‘Automation’, which is slated for release on March 31.
On ‘Automation’, frontman Jay Kay said: "The inspiration for Automaton is in recognition of the rise of artificial intelligence and technology in our world today and how we as humans are beginning to forget the more pleasant, simple and eloquent things in life and in our environment including our relationship with one another as human beings."
Last year, saw James Bay close the event with his first ever headline show at a festival.
The ‘Scars’ hitmaker told thousands of fans in the crowd he was trying to hold back the "fear" of headlining, but he had no need to worry as the audience belted out every lyric of every one of his songs.
He said at the time: "I’m doing everything I can to hold back the fear, it’s my first time headlining a festival."
The weekend also saw Primal Scream, Kaiser Chiefs, Catfish And The Bottlemen, Blossoms, Chase & Status and many more entertain the sun-kissed crowd.
More acts are to be confirmed for this year’s event in the coming months.
Tickets are on sale now from www.boardmasters.co.uk
