FKA Twigs added to Way Out West line-up

FKA twigs has been added to the Way Out West festival line-up.

The 27-year-old musician will perform at the annual music festival alongside Grammy Award winner Angelique Kidjo in the latest round of acts to be added to the event.

The ‘Two Weeks’ hitmaker – who recently got engaged to ‘Twilight’ actor Robert Pattinson – has joined the already star-studded line-up, which also features Florence + the Machine, The Pet Shop Boys, Caribou, Beck, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers and Ellie Goulding.

Other acts to grace the festival’s stages include singer/songwriter Patti Smith, Swedish sisters First Aid Kit, ‘King’ hitmakers Years & Years and Prince collaborator Lianne La Havas.

Way Out West – which is held at Slottsskogen Park in Gothenburg – will run from August 13 – 15 and will also feature an extended programme of films including ‘Amy’ and ‘Cobain: Montage of Heck’.

Elsewhere at the event – named as Spotify’s third most influential festival in 2014 – will be the Way Out West Music Conference where key influencers will discuss the future of the music industry.

The festival, now in its ninth year, has also announced moves to further reduce its carbon footprint by having no milk on site, having banned all meat from the festival three years ago to earn the title of Europe’s greenest festival.
