Nick Hewer can’t decide on holiday destination

Nick Hewer can't decide where to go on holiday for New Years Eve (31.12.14).
The 70-year-old star - who acts as an advisor to Lord Alan Sugar on 'The Apprentice' - is planning to get away from the miserable cold weather in the UK this week but is struggling to think of the perfect location.
He told BANG Showbiz: "The world is shrinking you know, in terms of where's safe to go. Really the Middle East is sort of a problem so whereas you used to think, 'Oh I'll go to Jordan or Morocco or Algeria', well suddenly it's a bit more difficult."
However, the 'Countdown' presenter has admitted he's not yet committed to the idea of going on holiday as when his partner Catherine decided against accompanying him to Argentina last year, he didn't have the best time.
Nick explained: "I don't know, I may go away and find somewhere hot if I'm bored. I was a bit bored after Christmas last year and I said, 'Do you fancy coming with me to Argentina?' And she said, 'No, you go'. And I went on my own and she got it right because I was never so bored in my life."

Caroline Flack wants helpline for ex-Strictly Come Dancing contestants

Caroline Flack wants to set up a club for ex-'Strictly Come Dancing' contestants.
The 35-year-old television presenter - who won the BBC One dancing competition earlier this month - has already established a "helpline" alongside fellow contestant, Frankie Bridge.
Caroline shared: "Frankie and I have our own helpline where we can call each other if we are depressed.
"We may have to start our own 'Strictly' club where we come together and dance. Me and Frankie ballroom dancing together could be fun."
The former 'Xtra Factor' presenter - who beat Frankie, 25, and Blue's Simon Webbe, 36 to the crown - praised the programme for making her more "confident".
She told the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper: "This is by far the best thing I have ever done - 'Strictly' has changed me as a person. I have found something I really love to do.
"I feel like I am more confident, happier. It's like I am on a natural high. I didn't expect it to be so special but I'm really worried about post-'Strictly' blues now."
Meanwhile, Caroline recently opened up about how her win on 'Strictly Come Dancing' was inspired by her tough split from Jack Street.
She said previously: "I think it might have been a whole year's worth of emotions put into a minute and a half of showdance [in the final].
"That felt really nice. It's amazing to end it on a high like this. It's been an interesting year but it's been very testing in a lot of ways.
"It's the way you handle things sometimes that makes you feel stronger in yourself and if you handle them right then you come out feeling good."

James Jordan taken ill on Christmas Day

James Jordan was taken ill on Christmas Day.
The former 'Celebrity Big Brother' contestant and ex-'Strictly Come Dancing' professional dancer was reportedly rushed to hospital on December 25 after complaining of chest pains.
A source close to the couple shared: "James wasn't right all morning and then he began to be sick and then collapsed. He had mentioned he'd been having chest pains."
Ola - who has been married to the 36-year-old dancer for 11 years - was "shocked and distressed" by the incident and felt helpless as she is currently recovering from a "career changing" leg injury which she sustained whilst training for Channel 4 show, 'The Jump'.
The source continued to the Sunday Mirror: "It was horrific for Ola. She was stuck and couldn't do anything except shout to the neighbours, who thankfully heard and went in to help.
"Ola was absolutely heartbroken. She feared something horrible had happened to her husband. They decided that they should call an ambulance right away and James was rushed to hospital.
"James has been caring for Ola so she is now having to struggle without him."
The 32-year-old dancing professional is currently keeping a bedside vigil at Pembury Hospital in Kent, south-east England whilst James awaits test results.

Sheridan Smith to be awarded an OBE

Sheridan Smith is to be honoured with an OBE.
The 'Cilla' star will be given the award by the Queen for her services to television.
A source said: "Sheridan has had a brilliant year."
The 33-year-old actress - who is originally from Epworth, Lincolnshire, east England - is just one of television's big names to be awarded in the New Year Honours list with 'A League Of Their Own' presenter, James Corden, also in line to receive the Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire title.
The 36-year-old comedian and television presenter will be handed the honour for his services to the entertainment and charity industries, with the Queen reportedly "delighted" to give him the recognition.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "James Corden is a huge young talent on many different fronts.
"His charitable work is also very impressive, making him a fantastic ambassador for the nation."
British actress, Joan Collins, 81 - who already has an OBE - will be made a dame and ChildLine counselling charity founder, Esther Rantzen, too, will receive damehood.
The veteran television host, 74 - who already has a CBE - will be recognised for her work in support of vulnerable kids.
The full New Year Honours list will be published on December 31.

Emma Willis ‘shy’ around Rita Ora

Emma Willis is "shy" around Rita Ora.
The 38-year-old television presenter - who hosts BBC One show, 'The Voice' alongside Marvin Humes - has admitted that she is in awe of the "superstar" singer who has joined the talent show as a judge this series.
Emma shared: "I'm used to interviewing people like that and sometimes you feel there's a line between interviewer and interviewee.
"So, sometimes I feel a bit like: 'Ooh, maybe they won't want to talk to me'. I feel shy, totally. I feel like they're the superstars and I'm this little thing tottering around in the background."
Emma - who also presents 'Celebrity Big Brother' - credits her husband, Matt Willis of pop band McBusted, for helping her to "settle down" in her career.
She explained: "The minute I settled down, had kids and got married, the minute I stopped stressing about where I should be and where I should go, it kind of went there naturally.
"It was the making of me. Thank god for Matt Willis and his willy."
Meanwhile, Emma - who has Isabelle, five and Ace, three with the 'Air Guitar' hitmaker - admits that it was a "shock to the system" when Matt went out on tour again.
She told Fabulous magazine: "Him being in a band again was a right old shock to the system.
"I was totally excited, but it's full-on. I haven't really seen him much for a couple of months."

Tessa Peake-Jones up for new Only Fools and Horses

Tessa Peake-Jones would be "up" for starring in a new episode of 'Only Fools and Horses'.
The 57-year-old actress played Del Boy Trotter's wife Raquel in the classic sitcom and admits she'd be interested in reprising her role if a script was written and thinks most of the surviving cast would be keen for a return as well.
But she insists everything would rest on whether David Jason - who played Del Boy - and Nicholas Lyndhurst (Rodney Trotter) wanted to do it.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz, she said: "I think everyone would be up for it because we had such a brilliant time doing it. How lucky we were, a group of people that all got on very well making great comedy which pleased the audience. We would have loved to go on doing it forever but with all these things you just can't, especially for John Sullivan who was writing it, there is a point you can't keep going with new ideas ... But I'm sure everyone would look at a script, but it would depend on how David and Nick felt about it."
Although she'd love to step back inside Del and Raquel's Peckham flat one more time she thinks it's unlikely because writer John Sullivan has passed away and key cast members like Roger Lloyd-Pack (Trigger) and Roy Heather (Sid) are no longer with us.
Tessa - who most recently starred in 'Grantchester', which is out on DVD now - added: "There were talks a few years ago about John Sullivan being keen to bring it back for a Christmas special, I think actually he'd written some of it and then of course he died tragically. With that, I think the whole idea died but at one point it was on the cards. I don't think it'll happen now. Also more and more of the cast seem to be dying so we haven't got that many left now. Also there is something to be said for keeping it as it is ... If you bring anything back there's always a risk that it won't live up to expectations and all of us in that programme would be really upset if it didn't live up to expectations."
The last episode of 'Only Fools and Horses' - also starring John Challis as Boycie and Sue Holderness as his wife Marlene Boyce - was filmed in 2003 and this year a new short sketch featuring Del Boy, Rodney and David Beckham was screened as part of 'Comic Relief'.

Nick Hewer didn’t cook Christmas dinner

Nick Hewer kept "well away" from the kitchen this Christmas.
The 'Countdown' host spent the festive day with his partner Catherine and although they enjoyed a traditional meal, Nick didn't help at all when it came to the turkey and stuffing.
He said: "Oh God no (I didn't cook), I don't know where the kitchen is! I keep well away from the kitchen, especially around this time."
And while 'The Apprentice' star admits his organisational skills leave little to be desired, having nearly forgotten Catherine's birthday earlier this year, he insists she's more than capable of cooking up a feast on her own.
Quizzed on whether he's well prepared during the festive season, he admitted: "It's always a last minute shop. I pretty much almost missed madame's birthday in October but I managed to scramble together and get some flowers shipped in overnight which was good.
"Christmas, she does it all for every day of the break and she's brilliant. She runs her own business very successfully but she manages to compartmentalise her life, I don't have that secret. She knows of her values and I'm still struggling to know what people see in me."
Nick and Catherine will splitting their festive holiday between their home in Northampton and their villa in the south of France.

Joey Essex plans pop career

Joey Essex wants to be a pop star.
The 24-year-old television personality - who made the decision after his 'Essex Anthems' compilation album achieved silver disc status - has revealed he is learning guitar so he can follow his dream.
He said: "I'm gonna learn to play guitar. I reckon I could be a pop star.
"I can't really sing but to be a pop star all you have to do is stand there and play guitar, then talk over it."
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star will make it his New Year's resolution to learn to play the instrument - as well as learning to speak Spanish.
He explained: "[Learning guitar] and learning Spanish are my New Year's resolutions.
"I want to be fluent by the time I'm 27. But I've been saying that for five years.
"I already know how to say please, thank you and orange."
Joey also revealed that his mixtape album sold more than Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's LP and he has since been asked to DJ at various clubs because he has a "best-selling album".
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper's 3am column: "I sold more copies of my album than Cheryl; over 80,000.
"Someone asked if I could DJ and I was like, 'I've never DJ'd in my life.' And they were like, 'But you've got a best-selling album!' But I just picked tracks I liked. I think that's why I do all right, though, because I'm honest."

Kavana for Celebrity Big Brother?

Kavana has signed up for 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The 37-year-old 90s singer has been recruited by Channel 5 bosses, who hope he can shed some light on what happened to his friend Mel B, 39, earlier this month, after she spent time in hospital and went on a break from her husband of seven years, Stephen Belafonte.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Kavana is the man who will know her secrets and no doubt the other stars will grill him to find out the truth about what has gone on."
The 'I Can Make You Feel Good' often appeared on television shows alongside the Spice Girls and the pair shared the same record label in the 90s.
Other celebrities expected to enter the house include Keith Chegwin, 57, Calum Best, 33, Perez Hilton, 36, 'Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattison, 27 and 'The Apprentice's Katie Hopkins, 39.
Meanwhile, a date change earlier this week left the series in crisis.
'Celebrity Big Brother' was originally meant to finish at the end of January but was extended a week until February 6, meaning some of the celebrities who signed up are reportedly now telling bosses they can't appear in the show as they have work lined up in early February.
The late departures have caused a panic for the show's producers, who are desperately looking for last-minute replacements, which may include 'X Factor's Chloe Jasmine Whichello, 24, and US reality star Austin Armacost, 26.
