Tina Malone: Age gaps don’t matter in relationships

Tina Malone doesn't think age gaps matter in relationships.
The 51-year-old actress - who is 19 years older than her husband, Paul Chase - sees no problem with marrying someone who is much older or younger, and congratulated 57-year-old actor Stephen Fry on his recent engagement to a 27-year-old man.
She explained: "He's an intelligent, articulate man. He's no fool. He's probably been round the block like I had and road tested a few! Good luck to him... I just don't see the problem. Whether he was older or younger, someone was going to have something to say because he was in the public eye."
The 'Shameless' star's husband went on to say that as long as there is chemistry between a couple, he believes an age gap can even be a blessing, especially when it comes to activity in the bedroom.
He added: "If it works, it works... honestly. The connections. The chemistry. Better sex! I am blessed. And if Stephen Fry is happy, I'm made up for him because that bloke has been through some [tough times]..."
The former 'Celebrity Big Brother' contestant also said she can sympathise with the 'QI' presenter when it comes to finding love.
Speaking on ITV's 'This Morning', she said: "If it works for him, I say go ahead and do it.... he's suffered bipolar as I have and it's swings and roundabouts, we can be highly neurotic and intense and over analyse things and if he's felt enough joy to get engaged and plan a wedding - they obviously have a connection, and isn't being in love about chemistry? And about whether you connect physically, mentally and emotionally?"

Simon Gregson swaps cigs for sweets

Simon Gregson is quitting smoking with the aid of jelly babies.
The 'Coronation Street' actor has vowed to quit his 20-a-day cigarette habit so wife Emma also agreed to stop the deadly practice and the pair are relying on sugary sweets as a substitute when the desire for nicotine hits.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "They both love Jelly Babies and are using them as a replacement for the cigs.
"The pair of them reckon the sugar buzz replaces the tobacco fix and they're currently going through bags and bags of them!
"They're both on a mission to be healthy this year and each of them is supporting the other.
"Emma only smokes about half the number that Simon does but it's good that they've both got the same love of Jelly Babies to see them through this."
Simon - who has sons Alfie, seven, and Harry, five, with Emma - begun his mission to quit on Boxing Day (26.12.14) and is happy with how things are going so far.
He said: "My resolution is to stop smoking. I've done a lot better so far than I have in previous years."

Jeremy Jackson to enter Celebrity Big Brother as a single man?

Jeremy Jackson has revealed he's single ahead of 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The former 'Baywatch' star - who is rumoured to be entering the reality show house this evening (07.01.15) - took to his Instagram account earlier this week to confirm his relationship status after splitting from wife Loni Willison.
According to The Sun newspaper, in a post he's now deleted, he wrote: "B4 I duck out for work ... I believed in the possibility of transformation and was tricked into love and my desire to be loved. For the record I am divorced! I am not perfect and will never be but I have no regrets for the mistakes I have made and my side of the street is clean."
The 34-year-old hunk - who played David Hasselhoff's character Mitch Buchannon's son Hobie in the long-running series - is reported to have had a turbulent relationship with his wife of two years.
Police were called to their home in Los Angeles in September last year following a domestic disturbance call and they're believed to have finalised their divorce a number of months ago.
Jeremy's split means he will be free to flirt up a storm with his fellow housemates - who could include 'Ex on the Beach' beauty Chloe Goodman and Kirk Norcross' former fiancée and glamour model Cami Li - if he does take part in the Channel 5 series.

Jack Whitehall making ‘Bad Education’ film

Jack Whitehall is bringing back his comedy series 'Bad Education' as a film.
According to his father, Michael, the 26-year-old actor and comedian is working on a movie version of the BBC Three series, which aired its final episode in October last year, and is also planning to play his father in a movie adaptation of his autobiography on the big screen.
Michael said: "I think Jack will end up being a very successful actor in film and television. I don't think he will be playing Hamlet but he's a great comic actor.
"He's doing a film of 'Bad Education' and a drama of my autobiography is still on the cards. It was Jack's idea to play me, and I think that would be very good."
Talent agent Michael currently appears alongside his son on the BBC Two chat show 'Backchat' and while he never aspired to become famous, he admits he loves working with Jack.
He said: "I'm proud of him all the time - I'm amazed how talented he is. And he's so charming and generous. Most comedians wouldn't dream of giving their punchline to someone else, yet Jack is the opposite.
"He is always giving me the best lines. When people ask me to do things without Jack I always say no. I'm not an actor; I never had ambitions to be famous but I love working with my son."

Russell T. Davies: Why didn’t I think of casting Peter Capaldi

Russell T. Davies is jealous he didn't think of casting Peter Capaldi as Doctor Who.
The former showrunner admits he can't understand why he didn't think of asking the 56-year-old actor to take on the role of the titular Time Lord during his time in charge of the BBC One sci-fi drama.
Speaking about current showrunner Steven Moffat's casting of Capaldi, he said: "I know Peter Capaldi. He did a 'Doctor Who' with us and he did a brilliant 'Torchwood' and when they cast him I was just envious. I just thought: so brilliant. Why I didn't I think of that? Brilliant."
The 51-year-old screenwriter insists that although he still watches the programme "absolutely religiously" and thinks Capaldi is "glorious" in the role of the Doctor, he is now focusing on his own future projects.
Quizzed on whether he'd ever write another episode, he told Radio Times magazine: "Wouldn't that be nice? The lovely Steven invites me every year to come and write one. And I love him and I love them and I love watching it, but here I am, moving on. I love 'Doctor Who' with all my heart but nothing is more important to me than my own stuff."

Gemma Atkinson joins Emmerdale

Gemma Atkinson has joined the cast of 'Emmerdale'.
The 30-year-old actress is set to arrive in the village as the ITV soap's veteran Bob Hope's (Tony Audenshaw) estranged daughter Carly Hope.
She shared: "I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the cast of 'Emmerdale' and I cannot wait to see what's in store for Carly. I hope you all enjoy watching her story unfold."
Carly will be seen making life difficult for her dad - who has been married seven times to five different women - when she shows up expecting him to make up for lost time.
However, viewers will discover that she too has a string of failed relationships behind her, meaning she has more in common with her father than she cares to admit.
Gemma - who is best known for playing Lisa Hunter in Channel 4 soap 'Hollyoaks' from 2001 to 2005 - is scheduled to begin filming later this month and will make her on-screen debut in late March.
'Emmerdale' series producer Kate Oates said of Gemma's casting: "I'm delighted to welcome Gemma to the cast, her character Carly is sure to liven things up for Bob and Brenda [Lesley Dunlop] and anyone who crosses her path."

Sam Faiers reveals her struggle against Crohn’s disease

Sam Faiers "couldn't eat anything" for the first six weeks after she was diagnosed with Crohn's disease.
The 24-year-old beauty, who was diagnosed with the inflammatory bowel disease last year, saw her weight fall to six stone, which is considered a healthy weight for a nine-year-old child.
She explained: "For the first six weeks, I couldn't eat anything.
"I went down to six stone - from nine stone. So you can imagine what it was like."
The 'Only Way Is Essex' star was living on a diet of chicken and mash after she was banned by doctors from eating acidic foods.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Everything I had to eat in the first three months after my diagnosis was very plain, and I was on a lot of medication and shakes.
"But my body took well to the medication. Between the summer and now, I can eat anything I want. But it's everything in moderation.
"I can't even touch white wine - it makes me feel so ill it's not worth it. I used to love white wine, but now I stick to gin and tonic. Other than that, it's pretty much living a normal life. I can do whatever I want, I can exercise as hard as I want."

Jack Whitehall turning into his dad

Jack Whitehall thinks he's turning into his father.
The 26-year-old comedian has confessed his girlfriend and 'Fresh Meat' co-star Gemma Chan thinks he's becoming more and more like his dad Michael, with whom he hosts BBC Two chat show 'Backchat'.
He said: "If I start getting annoyed or angry about something, my girlfriend will say, 'Is that Michael Whitehall talking?'
"A few months ago I got annoyed at someone for wearing flip-flops at the supermarket with really mangy feet, and found myself shouting, 'Why can't they put on some socks? Or go home and put some shoes on?' That's exactly what my dad would say."
The 'Bad Education' star claims that while his mum and dad have been incredibly supportive of his career in comedy, his dad asked him to pay him back for all the money he spent on giving him a private education.
Jack told Radio Times magazine: "He used to joke that when I became famous I could pay him back for all the school fees he wasted on me, but there's absolutely no way!
"It was his choice. I would have been perfectly happy at a state school. I didn't ask to go to boarding school. I actively said I didn't want to, so he's only got himself to blame."

Jessica Raine wanted unpleasant role

Jessica Raine was desperate to play an unpleasant character.
The 'Call the Midwife' star has left the wholesome show and relished the chance to portray someone "really, really horrible" in new historical drama 'Wolf Hall'.
She said: "I was desperate to play someone not nice. I play Jane Rochford, Anne Boleyn's sister-in-law in 'Wolf Hall' and she is really, really horrible.
"It's written by Peter Straughan so it has a very contemporary, thriller edge."
While Jessica relished the role, it did have some uncomfortable downsides.
She added to Marie Claire magazine: "The costumes were incredibly uncomfortable but they were really authentic - they certainly didn't cut any corners."
The 32-year-old actress became a household name as Jenny Lee in 'Call the Midwife' but decided to leave last year after three series because she was ready for a new challenge.
She explained: "Leaving 'Call the Midwife' felt like the right decision. You've got to listen to your gut instinct - that's all you've got in this industry.
"I did think about asking for the nurse's uniform when I left but I thought that was a bit kinky."
