Carol McGiffin thinks Nadia Sawalha is coming across as "an interfering bossy boots" on 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The 54-year-old presenter can understand why her former 'Loose Women' co-host wants to be the "peacemaker" in the house but doesn't think her attempts to be a "mother figure" are working very well.
Carol - who came fourth on the show in 2013 - said: "Nadia hates confrontation so it doesn't surprise me that she's trying to sort out the arguments and smooth everything over.
"She's a nurturing person and probably thinks the house needs a mother figure but she's coming across like an interfering bossy boots."
Despite her comments, Carol admits she feels sorry for Nadia because the house is so full of conflict and she wishes her pal could ignore it and relax.
She added to Closer magazine: "I do feel for Nadia because she's got the worst household possible. Everyone is just so argumentative and row flare up out of nowhere. My housemates were mostly easy going and we had a laugh.
"If I could speak to Nadia, I'd tell her to ignore all the drama and enjoy herself. She's doing her popularity no favours being referee.
"When you're in that house you have no concept of public perception and the smallest things can irritate you. But Nadia needs to let it go, have a drink and chill."

'Coronation Street' star William Roache says he and the late Anne Kirkbride were "soulmates".
The 82-year-old actor played Ken Barlow, the on-screen husband of Anne's character Deirdre Barlow, with the pair's lives being entwined on the Weatherfield cobbles for over 30 years.
Williams admits he has been left totally grief-stricken since learning his co-star had passed away from cancer on Monday night (19.01.15) and admits she was one of his closest friends.
In an interview on 'This Morning', he said: "I remember when we would both go our different ways (in the show) but we'd always come back together. One of the writers said, 'We always see Ken and Deirdre as a pair, whether they're together or not.' We were sort of soulmates and we were like that off screen. I loved her dearly and she loved me, in the true and proper way and I respected her as an actress tremendously."
William and the rest of the 'Corrie' cast went to work today (20.01.15) and wanted to film in honour of Anne, but the day's shoot was cancelled as the feeling as no one was able to put their grief aside to work.
Despite his heavy heart, the soap legend has been able to take comfort in his belief Anne has gone on to a "very happy place".
The soap legend explained: "We all wanted to come in to work today, that was the feeling we all had in our hearts, but of course when we got here we couldn't do it. When I walked on to the set you could just feel Annie's presence she was always a joyful, loving person and we just couldn't work. So today is a day of tributes to a really beautiful person, a wonderful colleague and a great actress.
"The void just walking on set today was heart-rending, because you feel her presence and we will always feel her presence. But I know she has gone to a very good and very happy place and for that we can be happy, but we miss her dreadfully."
William is not surprised by the public's reaction to Annie's death because she was in their homes every night for over 40 years and they took her to their hearts.
He said: "There's a great sense of personal loss, and I can understand the public feeling that, because Annie radiated such love they also will feel a great sense of personal loss. We've also lost an iconic 'Coronation Street' character so it's a double loss for us."

Vicky Pattison is to host her own dating show.
The former 'Geordie Shore' star has reportedly already filmed the pilot for the currently unnamed series, which is said to be similar in format to Davina McCall's 'Streetmate', which ran on Channel 4 from September 1998 to 2001.
Vicky, 27, is the believed to be the perfect choice to front the show after having her love feature on the Newcastle-set series as well as MTV's reality show 'Ex on the Beach' and she's reportedly hoping to be as popular as Cilla Black was with 'Blind Date'.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Since a lot of her love life has played out on telly - as well as Ex on the Beach - she's got plenty of experience.
"Vicky wants to follow in the footsteps of rags-to-riches legend Cilla Black."
The show's producers are now said to be in the process of pitching the show to MTV.
Meanwhile, the brunette beauty previously revealed she quit 'Geordie Shore' after realising it was jeopardising her healthy eating regime
She said: "I would work so hard before going into the house to look good and it would go to s**t in two weeks.
"There was a Milky Way and Doritos cupboard that was the devil! It just hit me like a tonne of bricks that it wasn't me any more. Have you seen how many calories are in a Jagerbomb?!"

Anne Kirkbride reportedly refused chemotherapy.
The 'Coronation Street' actress - who passed away last night (19.01.15) - is said to have refused the treatment after being diagnosed with breast cancer, causing the disease to spread to her brain.
The 60-year-old star had taken a three month break from the ITV soap, in which she played Deirdre Barlow for over 40 years, last year for "personal reasons" and while she originally planned to return to the role, her illness is said to have gradually gotten worse.
Anne previously suffered from depression after battling an uncommon form of cancer called non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and is reported by The Sun newspaper to have turned down chemo after being told she had breast cancer last year.
The decision is said to have led to the disease spreading to her brain, resulting in the beloved star's death.
However, a spokesperson for ITV said the actress' family - including her "heartbroken" husband David Beckett - would not be commenting on her cause of death.
Anne's former co-stars - including William Roache, who played her on-screen husband Ken Barlow, and Liz Dawn (Vera Duckworth) - have spoken out about their shock at losing such a dear friend.
