Jacqueline Jossa thought her mum would "punch her in the face" when she told her she was pregnant.
The 22-year-old actress is expecting her first child, a girl, with boyfriend Dan Osbourne and was nervous of telling her mother because she knew she would be "really shocked".
In a joint interview with Dan in OK! magazine, she said: "I told my cousin first – I shouldn’t say that because my mum will be upset – then I told my sister the next day because she has three kids and if anyone had the answers she would.
"I was like, ‘Right, help me!’. When I told my mum after my sister, I thought she was going to punch me in the face.
"I thought she’d be really shocked and she was, but she was also really happy."
Dan – who already has 12-month-old son Teddy from a previous relationship – quipped: "I thought she’d punch me in the face."
The ‘EastEnders’ star admits she "panicked and stressed out" when she first found out she was pregnant and Dan urged her to tell her mother.
Speaking of when they found out the news, Dan said: "I just froze and Jackie was giggling, then I was, then I said to her, ‘We need to go and tell your mum, now.’ "
Jacqueline added: "I couldn’t stop laughing, I giggle at the most awkward situations. My first thought wasn’t to tell my mum.
"Then I started panicking, stressing out ad going crazy and was like, ‘No stop, you’re freaking me out.’
"Our emotions were all over the place – at first I was emotional and then I went numb then Dan went numb and then got emotional, we met in the middle somewhere.
"Then he fell asleep and started snoring, I wanted to punch him in the face."
