Anne Kirkbride's funeral took place yesterday (27.01.15).
The 'Coronation Street' legend - who died last week after battling cancer - was laid to rest in a "small send-off" at an undisclosed location in the North West, with castmates William Roache, Kate Ford and Beverley Callard joining her husband David Beckett, other family members and close friends for the service.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Anne was always a private person and wanted a small send-off. That was Anne -- she didn't want a fuss."
Anne had reportedly left instructions about which cast members she wanted at the service, and those who were unable to attend the small funeral are hoping to celebrate her life with a memorial service at a later date.
It was recently revealed that Beverley - who plays Liz McDonald on 'Corrie' - had been helping David to plan his wife's funeral.
A source said: "Annie's death was very sudden - no one had time to prepare for it.
"It's not like David had months or even weeks to come to terms with losing his wife. He is all over the place and struggling to take things in.
"Bev is helping him with the funeral. They want it to be a personal ceremony that celebrates Anne as her family and friends knew her - as well as her career as Deirdre.
"That is really important to David. Anne was loved as Deirdre but he loved her as Anne and the tributes will reflect that."
Anne was known for her role as Deirdre Barlow in the ITV soap, a character she played for over 40 years.

Sam Faiers wants a boyfriend with a "personality".
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star has confessed she's back on the dating scene after splitting from former co-star and fiance Joey Essex last year and admits she's now looking for a "cheeky" guy.
Quizzed on what she's attracted to in a man, she said: "I think they have to have that cheeky, friendly smile. Joey was really handsome but I don't always go for someone who's textbook good-looking. They have to have a personality."
The 24-year-old beauty also opened up about what would make for her ideal date and admitted she would rather go somewhere casual.
She explained: "I'm easy. I quite like a restaurant or a bar as it's not so romantic and intimate. Something relaxed, with no awkward silences."
Sam has her own range of false eyelashes and recently set up her own fitness business but claims she wouldn't go over the top with her appearance when meeting a potential boyfriend.
When asked what she would wear on a date, she added to Now magazine: "Something smart but not too revealing with maybe a bit of cleavage - a nice jacket, a pair of boots and an oversized bag. Keep your make-up toned down. I think guys like that more. You don't want him to say, 'Woah, who the hell's that?' when you take off your make-up!"

Rosie Fortescue takes her dog on shopping trips.
The 'Made In Chelsea' star admits that while she enjoys taking her sister shopping, she finds it more difficult to browse her favourite high street and designer stores with her Dachshund Noodle in tow.
She said: "My twin sister Lily is great - she second guesses me and is all, 'Go for it, just get it!' My mum's a bit more rational."
Quizzed on who her nightmare shopping partner is, Rosie added to Now magazine: "My dog! I know it's a bit strange but I take Noodle with me sometimes. When I'm changing, she just sits and looks at me and it's all a bit weird!"
The 24-year-old beauty also claimed she won't be rushing to take co-star Spencer Matthews or any of the other male members of the MIC cast with her again anytime soon.
She shared: "Men can be annoying to shop with too - if they have good style it's fun, but I went shopping with Spencer once... and that was less fun!"

Patsy Kensit has become the third housemate to be evicted from 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The 46-year-old actress thanked the public for voting her off the Channel 5 series tonight (27.01.15) and admitted she was "thrilled" to be out of the "war zone."
Speaking to host Emma Willis after leaving the house, the blonde beauty said: "Thank God, I'm so relieved. It's the most stressful 21 days of my life - it feels like 21 years.
"I'm really happy to be out."
Patsy also explained why she refused to get involved in the fights inside the house, saying: "I just didn't want to get involved. Literally day two it just went crazy. And it stayed crazy.
"You can fight with the world every day if you choose to, but I'm a very different person to who I was ten years ago...there were a lot of egos clashing and I didn't want to go there. I do have strong opinions but I didn't go in there to change anyone...The war is over for me now, thank God!"
When asked about the tension between Katie Hopkins and Perez Hilton, the 'Holby City' star suggested they "were very similar."
She was shocked to learn that Perez hadn't left the reality show and was hiding in a secret room.
She shrieked: "What? I can't f**king believe it!"
Following Patsy's elimination, the gossip blogger rejoined the house and was informed he will face eternal nomination for the remainder of the series.

'Gogglebox' star Dom Parker has a "suspected concussion" after injuring himself during training for 'The Jump'.
The 49-year-old star - who appears on the Channel 4 show with wife Steph - is currently being monitored in hospital before the decision as to whether or not he's able to take part in the winter sports competition takes place.
A spokeswoman for the show told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Dom hurt his shoulder and later showed signs of suspected concussion so was monitored and is now resting up."
Dom is said to have been practicing the ski cross - which sees competitors speed along a custom-built course while taking on jumps and steep banks - on location in Innsbruck, Austria when the incident took place yesterday (26.01.15).
It is the same event which saw last year's contestants Sir Steve Redgrave and Marcus Brigstocke forced to pull out of the contest.
The posh TV commentator was racing on a 500-metre course developed to push celebrities to the limit but it's yet to be determined whether he'll be able to compete against the other stars when the competition kicks off on Sunday.
The second series of the extreme reality show has already seen 'Strictly Come Dancing' star Ola Jordan and former 'Celebrity Big Brother' contestant Sally Bercow pull out of the competition with injuries.
Dom previously confessed he was an experienced skier and was hoping to be crowned champion.
He said: "I've skied on an off since I was five years old. It's quite exciting - a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be trained up to do this stuff."
He added: "I'm not expecting to win, probably because I'm a bit old and bit fat. But there's a part of me, deep down, thinking, 'If I'm going to do it, I'd like to be the winner'."

'Broadchurch' has been criticised for "turning into a soap".
The ITV drama has seen a drop in ratings since it returned for its second series earlier this month and viewers have now commented that the storylines are closer to that of soaps such as 'EastEnders' and 'Coronation Street' than a crime thriller.
Referring to Eva Myles' character Claire - whom David Tennant's Detective Inspector Hardy is believed to be having an affair with - one viewer wrote on Twitter: "Claire's the underlying problem, every1 slept with every1, and it's turning into a soap (sic)."
The first episode of the new series drew in an impressive 7.6 million viewers but last night's (26.01.15) show saw just 5.6 million tune in and some fans can't quite put their finger on what's gone wrong.
A Twitter user shared with their followers: "I'm not sure if it's the script, the plot, the acting or the editing but I'm finding Broadchurch sort of, well, rubbish."
Tennant disagrees with claims the show has seen a dip in popularity, however.
Speaking at the National Television Awards last week, he said: "What backlash? I don't think anything's gone wrong. It's fantastic!"

David Tennant is to star in Marvel's 'A.K.A. Jessica Jones'.
The 43-year-old actor - who recently won the National Television Award for Special Recognition - has been cast in the role of Kilgrave in the new 13-episode series, which is set to premiere on Netflix later this year.
Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg said: "I'm so honored and excited by the prospect of David inhabiting this multifaceted character.
"He can deliver the most heart-wrenching moment to the driest of lines, and all points in between. He'll make Kilgrave a truly original villain."
Jeph Loeb, the Executive Producer and Marvel's Head of Television, also revealed he is looking forward to seeing Tennant in the role of a villain.
He explained: "Anyone familiar with David's work knows he brings an incredible level of dedication to any role he inhabits, a level we knew we would need from the man playing Kilgrave.
"While most know him for his roles as a hero, we can't wait to unleash a whole new side of this talented actor."
'A.K.A. Jessica Jones' will be made available to online viewers following the conclusion of 'Daredevil', another of Marvel's web television series developed for Netflix.

Jamelia has received "overwhelming support" after "shocking" people by making it known she was being abused online.
The 'Loose Women' panellist, who last week slammed online trolls for sending her racist and sexist abuse, is pleased she acted how she did because it enabled her to rid herself of negative vibes and get on with "maintaining a happy lifestyle".
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "When I got trolled I became aware of myself being drawn into a negative headspace and the only way to deal with it was to raise some sort of awareness and maybe shock people into the impact that it has. The response to my tweet has been absolutely overwhelming.
"I actively pursue happiness. I don't subscribe to any negativity, I'm not interested in anything that makes me feel bad.
"I cry, I make sure I get it out if there's anything wrong with me. I'm really committed to maintaining a happy lifestyle."
The 34-year-old star - who has daughters Teja, 13, and Tiani, nine - also admitted she tries to be happy with what she is eating on a daily basis and as a result she has always fed her kids fruit and vegetables to try to get them used to having their five a day.
She added: "I've always promoted healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle to my children from day one. I just saw it as completely normal.
"For me and my children now it would be very strange to have a dinner with no vegetables. That's not a complete dinner to us. You just have to make it normal."
Jamelia has teamed up with Warburtons and The British Heart Foundation to educate the nation on the importance of a healthy balanced diet. Pick up a special donation pack of Warburtons wholemeal and raise funds for the BHF.

Christopher Eccleston believes the quality of British television needs to improve.
The former 'Doctor Who' star is disappointed that the American TV industry has managed to overtake Britain to produce more popular shows and feels something must be done to improve the situation.
He shared: "When I first started going out to America in the early 90s, people were forever talking about the quality of British television. Now... they're always going on about the quality of American television and, aside from occasional exports like 'Downton Abbey', they have raised the bar in the TV world."
The 50-year-old actor - who is currently starring alongside Stanley Tucci and Michael Gambon in Sky Atlantic's 'Fortitude' - claims it is up to British writers to step up and challenge those from the US.
He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I think we are more than capable of doing it but the writers, not directors, not the producers, not the actors, are key to this. The problem with television is when it starts to get created by a group of bean counters or by one actor."
Christopher also commented on the state of the movie businesses, insisting there is no British film industry.
He explained: "The comic book franchise and popcorn movie have completely swallowed up the filmgoing experience.
"There is also a lot of dross around so the genuinely creative people have moved into television because it's like a long-form novel.
"You can still find quality scripts in American film but you can't in British film because we don't have a British film industry. The government has no interest in supporting it."
