Dermot O'Leary narrowly avoided being killed by a car.
The 'X Factor' host was filming a segment for Comic Relief which saw him sleeping rough with three homeless men in Kisumu, Kenya, when a car veered off the road and crashed just metres away from where he lay.
A member of support staff on the trip tweeted the news, saying: "A car has crashed into a ditch feet away from the boys. Everyone is fine, but a lucky escape. Shaken up by the near miss the boys are chatting with @radioleary."
The 41-year-old presenter was sleeping on the streets with youngsters Fred, Maurice, and Hannington, to experience the dangers young people face in the country when they have nowhere else to stay, but did not expect the terrifying incident which was described as a "lucky escape".
The staff member continued: "It's an incredibly vulnerable place to sleep which is why they stick together.
"The cars, motorbikes and rickshaws are so close the noise is something to behold."
Despite the close-call, no-one was injured in the road traffic accident and the "shaken" star continued to sleep on the roadside for the remainder of the night.
They added: "Despite noisy stragglers from a bar milling past Dermot and the little men are finally settling."
The scenes will air as part of the Red Nose Day telethon on BBC One on March 13.

Electro Velvet will represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015.
The duo - made up of Alex Larke, 35, and Bianca Nicholas, 26 - will perform up-tempo electro-swing track 'Still In Love With You' at the annual competition, which will take place in Vienna on May 23.
Bianca said: "I am so proud to have been chosen to be a part of the world's biggest song contest - Eurovision! It's such an honour to represent the UK, especially in its 60th year too!
"I have never been to Austria before, and I can't wait to get out to Vienna and do my best, and I hope to make the UK proud!"
Formerly an actress, Bianca appeared opposite Johnny Depp as a teenager in the fantasy adventure film 'Sleepy Hollow', before deciding to focus on her music career, which last year led her to audition for BBC One singing competition 'The Voice UK'.
Meanwhile, Alex has made a name for himself fronting Rolling Stones tribute act The Rollin' Clones, with whom he has toured worldwide.
Speaking to Scott Mills on the BBC's red button coverage of the act reveal, he said: "I feel incredibly privileged and humbled to be representing the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, for this massively historic 60th anniversary event.
"We have a fantastic song and will work as hard as is humanly possible to bring the contest home and make our great nation proud. It's time to get this party started! See you in Vienna!"
The 2014 contest was won by Austria's Conchita Wurst with the song 'Rise Like a Phoenix', while the UK's Molly Smitten-Downes finished in 17th position.

Jamie Laing's ex-girlfriend is his "rock" - but he doesn't want to be with her.
The 'Made in Chelsea' star recently sparked speculation he had reunited with former girlfriend Tara Keeney but he insists they are not getting back together because he is too busy with other things.
He said: "Tara's the only girl where it's not really the chase. She's almost like my rock - she's been with me from the beginning.
"In the nicest way possible, if I wanted to be with a girl, I'd be with her. But I just don't think it's gonna work right now. With my business and my lifestyle, I can't have a girlfriend."
The 26-year-old star admits he loves Tara, 20, "to bits", and though he doesn't want to date her, he will "always" indulge her with romantic gestures.
He told Now magazine: "Me and Tara, we've had an ongoing relationship for three years.
"I love her to bits - she's the best in the world. But I'm just not in a position to be settling down at the moment.
"She's amazing, she's great and the funniest girl ever.
"And yeah, I bought her Valentine's Day roses and kissed her while she rejected me, but I'm the cheeky guy who will always do that."

Judy Finnigan claims she was "groped" when she first started on TV.
The 66-year-old presenter has admitted a "very senior member of staff" once made an unwelcome pass at her at the beginning of her career, but said it was considered normal at the time because it was such a "promiscuous" industry.
She revealed: "When I was in my 20s I was groped by a very senior member of staff but it happened to all of us.
"If you were a young woman in television in those days, you were seen as fair game. It was a very promiscuous atmosphere - everybody was having affairs."
Although the TV personality - who is married to fellow presenter Richard Madeley - confessed she was a victim of the inappropriate behaviour, she said it was the differing treatment between her and Richard which made her more angry.
She explained: "Sexism in TV certainly was absolutely rampant.
"I don't just mean sexual sexism, but stuff like we'd be doing 'This Morning' from Liverpool, say, and if something really dramatic happened in the world there would be a newsflash.
"The director would come through from the gallery and say, 'ITN want to come to us in two minutes, so when I tell you, Richard, will you hand over to ITN.' It was always Richard."
"I was furious because I was as much a journalist as him but they automatically thought the person to hand over to in a crisis was a man, So we had a few words."

Danny Dyer fakes emergencies to skip 'EastEnders' filming.
The 37-year-old actor is renowned for playing pub landlord Mick Carter on the BBC One soap, but his real life seven-year-old daughter Sunnie has revealed he makes up family emergencies in order to miss work and lounge around his house.
When asked about her dad's biggest secret in an episode of ITV1's 'Big Star's Little Star' - which is set to be broadcast later this month - Sunnie said: "Dad calls into work saying he can't come in because he's helping mummy. But he just lays around on the sofa all day."
The embarrassed star was left red-faced by his daughter's awkward admission, confessing he is expecting to be hauled in front of the show's boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins to be punished for his sneaky behaviour.
He added: "I'm in trouble now. I hope he's [Dominic] not watching.
"I knew I should never have done this show."
Later on in the programme, the star's hilarious daughter made her father even more uncomfortable, when she joked the actor - who recently got engaged to his long-term girlfriend Joanne Mas - has bad breath.
Speaking about his kissing scenes on the soap, she said: "Mummy doesn't like him doing it and it's really disturbing because he's got bad breath."

Aidan Turner knocked himself out filming 'Poldark'.
The 31-year-old actor plays protagonist Captain Ross Poldark in BBC One's adaptation of the Winston Graham novels, and revealed he had an unfortunate incident on the set of the drama after getting excited between recordings.
He confessed: "I was skipping over to the playback monitor - I must have been so delighted with my take - and was getting quite a lot of height.
"Then I smacked my head into the door frame and knocked myself out for five seconds."
Luckily for the 'The Hobbit' star, no-one else noticed the embarrassing incident so he didn't feel too silly.
He continued: "I came to - and nobody had noticed. I sauntered over to the monitor and said: 'Yeah, that looks fine.' God almighty, it was awful."
And while he may have sustained an injury from merrily skipping around, he insisted the more dangerous parts of filming were no challenge for him, explaining although he had never ridden a horse before the show, but was fine because he pretended he knew what he was doing.
He told The Sun newspaper's TV magazine: "If you pretend you're a good rider you can wing it."

Katie Hopkins "yelled, cried and screamed" when she discovered she was pregnant.
The 'Celebrity Big Brother' star - who has daughters India, 10, and Poppy, nine, from her marriage to Damian McKinney and son Maximillian, six, with husband Mark Cross - admits her oldest daughter wasn't planned and she was initially horrified to learn she was expecting a baby.
She said: "I refused to believe the little blue line on the stick. I threw myself on the floor, yelled, cried and screamed. This baby was not planned.
"My partner and I were living a fast life in Manhattan and I was on the way up at work with a recent promotion to vice president of marketing, which I'd fought for.
"A baby I didn't ask for was not about to bring me down."
Despite her initial horror, these days Katie feels relieved she had her family before the age of 35.
She told Now magazine: "12 years and three children later, I'm so grateful I had them when I did. Every day I meet women my age, rocketing up the career ladder but weighed down with a heavy heart and a partner and parents knocking on her ovaries waiting for a baby to answer.
"Tougher still is meeting the nearly 40 singleton - free, ambitious, successful, yet oceans away from motherhood, wondering when it is going to happen.
"I realise I'm lucky to have had my hand forced at 28 and somehow made it work."

Dame Judi Dench is a huge fan of 'Downton Abbey'.
The 80-year-old actress says she hasn't ruled out guest-starring alongside her close friend Dame Maggie Smith on the TV series in the future.
Asked if she would appear on the show, she said: "I don't know, who knows? I love watching it. I'd miss watching it [if I were in it]."
The British star recently teamed up with Maggie, 80, again to star in the 'The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' and admits she enjoys working with her friends because they have developed their own "shorthand."
She said: "Maggie and I were at the Old Vic together in 1958! We've done plays together, films together. The same with Bill Nighy and Celia Imrie. You have a shorthand with someone you know very, very well. I love being part of a company. I'd never consider doing something on my own, like a monologue."
The 'Skyfall' star, who won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for 'Shakespeare in Love' and has been nominated seven times, didn't initially set out to become an actress.
She said: "I trained as a theatre designer. That's what I was going to be. In the '50s I went to Stratford to see King Lear with this incredible set. I can remember thinking, 'I'm not ever going to have imagination to make a set like that.' If I did, maybe I would have gone on to be a designer. When I watch [performances], I watch with a designer's eye as well as an actor's eye."
But she is glad that not all of her family want to follow in her footsteps.
She said: "My grandson [Sam, 17] doesn't want to be an actor at all, and I'm glad. It's so ephemeral."
Meanwhile, Judi insists she hasn't changed since being made a dame by the Queen in 1998.
She told PEOPLE magazine: "I'm exactly the same person and behave the same. No curtsying, no bowing.
"I find [the royal family] utterly charming, doing an unenviable job - the pressure.
"It's forever being in the public eye, forever being criticised. I think they do a brilliant job."

Lucy Mecklenburgh "feels sorry" for Lauren Goodger.
The 23-year-old beauty has confessed she would be more than happy to help her former 'The Only Way Is Essex' co-star turn her life around if she asked as she doesn't think anyone should be afraid of looking at pictures of themselves.
Asked if rumours she'd offered to help Lauren after setting up her own health and fitness business were true, Lucy exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Obviously I would help her if she wanted me to but I haven't actually offered to.
"I feel a bit sorry for her because I read her articles about how she feels and how she doesn't like to look at herself in the mirror. I think it's really sad."
However, the 'Tumble' star went on to admit she thinks Lauren, 28, will be just fine without her help.
She continued: "I'm sure she's doing something about it and changing her diet and exercising more so I hope she doesn't feel like that anymore."
Lauren recently spoke out to defend Lucy after it was claimed she'd been pressuring her into losing weight.
She said: "I heard Lucy Mecklenburgh has denied she is pressuring me into losing weight. To be honest, I never thought she had!"
Meanwhile, Lucy has been busy styling an outfit for the PG tips monkey to wear on his latest assignment.
