Simon Cowell convinced Olly Murs to join X Factor over a curry

Simon Cowell convinced Olly Murs to take up the presenting spot on 'The X Factor' over a curry.
The 'Troublemaker' singer - who will replace Dermot O'Leary in fronting the show alongside Caroline Flack this year - has revealed the 55-year-old music mogul approached him about taking on the role on the ITV show after cooking him up an Indian feast at his home.
Olly added he enjoyed tasting each of the curries while Simon shunned the spicy dishes in favour of a Shepherd's pie as the pair chatted about his future on the series.
Olly said: "He asked if I wanted a curry and I said I love curry.
"So I go round to his house and he has all these amazing curries that have been home-made in his kitchens.
"There was a spicy chicken curry and a milder one, and all these dishes of chutneys and poppadoms and naan bread, a proper feast. And then at his end of the table there was this huge bowl of shepherd's pie.
"He said, 'I decided I didn't want curry in the end, so I'm having shepherd's pie. But I know you wanted curry'.
"So all these dishes were just for me and he had this minced beef!
"I had to work my way through all these different curries on my own and we had a good chat about the show."
However, his future co-star Caroline, 36 - with whom he previously hosted the spin-off show 'The Xtra Factor' in 2011 and 2012 - admitted she was only offered a glass of wine along with the part.
The brunette beauty - who was crowned champion of BBC One's 'Strictly Come Dancing' last year - told The Sun newspaper: "I definitely didn't get fed! I had one glass of wine, that was it.
"I went to see Simon in January for a general catch-up and we talked about Strictly and all sorts of other things. But nothing was really mentioned about me doing X Factor.
"It was just a nice catch-up because I hadn't seen him for ages.I thought he was going to offer me some kind of big new show! Then nothing happened afterwards and I was like, 'Oh'.
"Then when Dermot said he was leaving, things happened quite quickly."
Olly added he hopes the duo will bring "fun" and youthfulness to the show which will be reflected in their outfit choices.
He explained: "Look, we're young, we're fun, vibrant, energetic people, so I think that'll come out in our style. I don't think I'll be wearing suits every week."
Caroline said: "I'm not going to wear long, glitzy, figure-hugging gowns. No. It's not me.
"I'm excited to up the look a bit and make it a bit more sophisticated. I still want it to be edgy though."

Sally and Amy Broadbent’s boyfriends are ‘nervous’ about Big Brother

Amy and Sally Broadbent's boyfriends are "nervous" about their participation in 'Big Brother'.
The 27-year-old twins have only been dating their respective boyfriends for three months and while they insist they're not looking for love during their time on the Channel 5 programme, Sally acknowledged their partners are anxious about what may unfold.
Asked if they're seeking romance in the house, Sally said: "No! We both have boyfriends. They are supportive. Obviously they are nervous, but we've only been seeing them three months so it is quite early and I think they know that they have to support what we do."
Sally also said there's "nothing" the twins wouldn't do during their time on 'Big Brother', but insisted they haven't devised a strategy to win the show.
The blonde beauty shared: "I don't think we are tactical enough for a game plan. I'd be like, 'Sally, remember the game plan!'
"What is a game plan? What do you do? There's nothing we wouldn't do. If it's really bad you'll know about it one day."
Meanwhile, Amy - who's appeared alongside her sister on 'The Only Way Is Essex', in which she claimed to have spent an evening with star Mario Falcone - previously revealed she once went on a date with soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo.
She recalled: "We went for dinner. But it was a bit awkward because he didn't really speak very good English.
"We talked about football as he'd played that day. I pretended I'd watched when I'd only watched a smidgen and didn't know what I was talking about. Actually we talked about nails and manicures. He was really interested in nails."

Kym Marsh’s split blamed on fiance’s ‘meddling’ ex

Kym Marsh's split from fiancé Dan Hooper was due to his "meddling" ex-girlfriend.
The couple were set to marry later this year after celebrating their one-year anniversary, but reportedly decided to take a break because of a series of arguments about Dan's ex, 'Hollyoaks' actress Stephanie Waring, with whom he has two-year-old daughter Lexi Grace.
A source said: "Stephanie just won't leave Dan and Kym alone. She is constantly calling Dan and has been meddling in their relationship.
"Her behaviour has worn them both down, and had a really negative impact. No one wants to deal with hassle like this from their ex."
Although the 38-year-old 'Coronation Street' star is not "jealous" of the fellow actress, - who Dan dated for five years - a source close to the pair claims Stephanie has been "a major problem".
The source told The Sun newspaper: "Kym and Dan have always struggled over dealing with the issue of Stephanie.
"Dan and Steph were together for five years and still see each other because of their daughter. Dan doesn't have the option of shutting her out.
"He would never go back with Steph and Kym knows that. Trust has never been an issue and Kym has never been jealous of Steph.
"But tensions have built up between Dan and Kym, and that lead to a massive argument over the weekend.
"The Steph situation is not the sole cause of the split but it has been a major problem."
However, an upset Dan, 32, took to Twitter yesterday (12.05.15) to insist the couple have not broken up but are merely spending some time away from each other.
He wrote: "Nothing's broken off. We are having space and a break. False headlines. Please leave us alone with the horrible comments. (sic)"

Nick Grimshaw doesn’t have a love life

Nick Grimshaw doesn't have a love life because of his job.
The Radio 1 DJ has to go to bed early during the week because he needs to be up early to host the station's breakfast show, so he reserves the weekends to catch up with friends, leaving him with little time for romance.
Asked how his love life is, he said: "I don't have one. People think I'm lying but I don't.
"I've seen people this year but nothing serious.
"The thing is, if I want to go on a date with someone, I can't during the week. What am I going to do? Go for dinner at 6pm?
"And at weekends, I want to see my friends.
"I really need to sort it out, so I'm not like ye olde spinster."
Nick claims his work has made him "boring" and he even throws pals out of his house if he thinks they have stayed too late in the evening.
Discussing having dinner parties and whether he has to ask people to leave so he can go to bed, he told heat magazine: "Oh yes and I'm really blatant about it. I just start turning lights off.
"If people come, they have tea at 6.40pm and I get into bed around 9.30pm.
"It's taken two years to get my head around the fact that if I go to bed early, I don't feel awful the next day.
"I can't imagine going out drinking the night before now. I'm so boring."

Alesha Dixon doesn’t feel guilty about working

Alesha Dixon doesn't feel guilty when she goes to work.
The 36-year-old singer - who has 18-month-old daughter Azura with partner Azuka Ononye - misses her little girl when she's not at home, but knows the youngster is still happy and content without her.
Asked if she feels guilty when she works away, she said: "Would you judge me if I said no? I hear so many women talking about feeling guilty but I put a different spin on it.
"I do miss her and it gets to the point where I cannot wait to get home to see her, but I don't feel guilty because if I'm away she's either with Azuka or my mum, and often she's in her home and she's happy."
And Alesha hopes her work ethic will "inspire" Azura when she's older.
She said: "I'm going to work to do something I love and she'll realise that as she gets older and it'll hopefully inspire her."
The 'Britain's Got Talent' judge thinks she is in a privileged position because her work never keeps her away from home for too long.
She told OK! magazine: "I think I'm really, really lucky because I have some friends who have to work nine to five every single day, whereas I work for a few days and it's quite intense and very busy and then I'll be at home with my daughter for a few days."

Simon Gross evicted from ‘Big Brother’

Simon Gross has become the first housemate to be evicted from this year's 'Big Brother'.
The 46-year-old theatre company owner was dramatically booted off the Channel 5 series on Tuesday night (12.05.15) less than two hours after entering the house when host Emma Willis surprised the contestants with a Timebomb Twist, which saw viewers select five out of the 15 housemates to randomly stand in front of five podiums which had the their fate inside.
Upon leaving the show, he said: "For my five minutes of fame it was fantastic, I've got a career to go back to...it's showbiz. I've had so many rejections in my career it's just one of many, it's showbiz...I would have been fabulous but that's the way it goes. I think they will have a really fantastic summer."
While Simon was evicted, many of the other contestants faired much better during the game.
Jack McDermott got "immunity" and will receive three immunity passes throughout the series, and Jade-Martina Lynch got "luxury" meaning she will receive a luxury shopping budget, exclusively for her to use at some point during her time in the house.
But Adjoa Mensah received "nothing" and Nick Henderson got "nominations" meaning he will have to nominate his fellow contestants face-to-face during the rest of his time on the show.
A second Timebomb will be dropped on the housemates during a special live episode on Friday (15.05.15) at 9pm.

Dan Hooper confirms he and Kym Marsh are on ‘a break’

Dan Hooper has confirmed he and Kym Marsh are on "a break".
The 'Coronation Street' actress was reported to have called off her engagement to the personal trainer but he has now spoken out to insist that they simply need some "space".
He wrote on Twitter: "Nothing's broken off. We are having space and a break. False headlines. Please leave us alone with the horrible comments. (sic)"
The couple announced their engagement last December after a whirlwind eight month romance and were said to be planning to tie the knot next year.
However, the 28-year-old star is now believed to have called off the wedding and Dan is reported to have already moved out of their family home.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Dan has moved out for the time being but they are in constant contact with each other.
"They'd reached a stage where they both needed some space but things are very amicable."
Kym - who has children Emily and David from a previous relationship and daughter Poppy with ex-husband Jamie Lomas - has been married twice before, to Jamie from 2012 to 2014 and to former 'EastEnders' heartthrob Jack Ryder from 2002 to 2009.
Meanwhile, Dan's ex-girlfriend Stephanie Waring - with whom he has daughter Lexi - is reportedly feeling "conflicted" about the split after claiming she felt betrayed by Kym when she first started dating Dan last year.
A source told MailOnline: "He's the father of her child so despite whatever has happened she does want the best for him but the past year has not been pleasant dealing with Kym.
"As much as she wants the best for him, it's all a bit too raw right now. Dan has rubbed the whole thing in her face a lot.
"Although she feels sorry for him, it seems like karma."

Mary Berry selling holiday home for £800,000

Mary Berry has put her holiday home on the market for £800,000.
The 'Great British Bake Off' star is selling her three-story home in the Devon town of Salcombe so that she can purchase a property closer to the sea.
She said: "The kitchen works very well, and of course if you don't want to cook, there are great restaurants in town.
"What's nice about Salcombe is that it is easy for families - you can go out even with very young children and eat at 5pm. So if you don't want to cook, you don't need to."
The property was built in the early 1900s and boasts four bedrooms, an outdoor seating area, four parking spaces and a kitchen with a two-oven Aga.
The 80-year-old baker claims to have tried out many of the recipes from her numerous cookbooks in the West Country retreat, known as the "Old Manse", and admits she has many a fond memory of her children and grandchildren holidaying there.
Mary shared: "The Old Manse is very quiet - you don't hear what's going on outside, but you still have a view of the water."
Although Mary and her husband Paul live in the village of Penn near High Wycombe, she likes to have a home in Salcombe because of her children's love for the water.
Speaking about their plans to find a home nearer to the beachfront, she added: "The children want moorings - we're waiting to see what we can find."
Mary's estate agents Marchand Petit admit they don't think it will be hard to sell the property.
Employee Harriet Cundy added: "The Old Manse has got everything people ask for in Salcombe: a view, period features, a garage, and parking - and it's just a short walk from the town centre.
"In short, all the ingredients of a perfect family or holiday home."

Danny Dyer ‘can’t wait’ to marry Jo Mas

Danny Dyer "can't wait" to marry Jo Mas.
The 'EastEnders' actor announced his engagement to his childhood sweetheart in March after revealing she'd popped the question on Valentine's Day and he's now admitted he's getting excited for the big day.
He said: "That woman is very special, she is f**king amazing. I can't wait to marry her."
The 37-year-old star has been dating Jo - with whom he has daughters Danni and Sunnie and son Arty - for over 20 years but the couple have been through tough times in the past due to cheating allegations made agains him.
However, they appear to have turned things around since the 'Football Factor' star joined the BBC One soap in late 2013.
And Danny admits he was "gutted" when 'Coronation Street' beat the London-set soap to the best soap and continuing drama accolade at the British Academy Television Awards on Sunday (10.05.15).
Speaking about the outcome of the General Election, he told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I'm in f**king shock. A bit like 'EastEnders' losing tonight - it's a big f**king shock. It's going to take me a long time to get my f**king head around it."
