Alesha Dixon doesn’t feel guilty when she goes to work.
The 36-year-old singer – who has 18-month-old daughter Azura with partner Azuka Ononye – misses her little girl when she’s not at home, but knows the youngster is still happy and content without her.
Asked if she feels guilty when she works away, she said: "Would you judge me if I said no? I hear so many women talking about feeling guilty but I put a different spin on it.
"I do miss her and it gets to the point where I cannot wait to get home to see her, but I don’t feel guilty because if I’m away she’s either with Azuka or my mum, and often she’s in her home and she’s happy."
And Alesha hopes her work ethic will "inspire" Azura when she’s older.
She said: "I’m going to work to do something I love and she’ll realise that as she gets older and it’ll hopefully inspire her."
The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge thinks she is in a privileged position because her work never keeps her away from home for too long.
She told OK! magazine: "I think I’m really, really lucky because I have some friends who have to work nine to five every single day, whereas I work for a few days and it’s quite intense and very busy and then I’ll be at home with my daughter for a few days."
