Dermot O'Leary says Chris Evans is one of the main reasons he got into television.
The former 'X Factor' host has refused to rule himself out of joining the BBC Radio 2 DJ on 'Top Gear' as he's admitted the 'TFI Friday' star is one of the main reasons he became a presenter.
Asked about rumours he could be part of new host Evans' presenting line-up, he said: "I love my cars but I think Chris would probably ... He's such a main man and he's a big deal for me, he's one of the reasons why I got into television in the first place but I would imagine he'd want his own team on it."
However, the 42-year-old star confessed if he were to join the BBC Two motoring show - which saw former host Jeremy Clarkson sacked earlier this year for punching a producer - he would prefer to be the main host.
He told ITV's 'Good Morning Britain': "The thing is, I think if I was going to do it I'd want to do what Chris is doing, he's in charge of it."
Dermot also admitted he's excited to have some time off this summer as he's usually busy working on 'The X Factor' ahead of it's launch later in the year.
Speaking about his decision to quit the ITV show, he added: "I did eight years and it was a wonderful and fantastic eight years and I won't have a bad word said about it but it felt like the right time this year."

Dan Osborne proposed to Jacqueline Jossa in front of her entire family.
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star has revealed he gathered all of the 'EastEnders' actress' relatives together while on their recent holiday in Greece to pop the question.
He said: "I wanted to do it in front of Jacqui's friends and family because I know how much they mean to her."
The couple - who welcomed their daughter Ella into the world earlier this year - were celebrating Jacqueline's sister Katrina's wedding when he asked her to marry him.
Dan asked the bride to tell the family to meet in their hotel lobby for drinks and had a boat pull up to the balcony with a sign reading, 'Will you marry me?'
He told Now magazine: "I told Katrina to ask for a group picture so that everyone had their backs to the water, so they couldn't see the boat coming closer and closer, and then Katrina had to pass the ring behind her back to me.
"I said, 'Oh, look at that boat,' and when Jacqueline turned around, I was down on one knee with the ring."
However, the tattooed hunk - who also has 17-month-old son Teddy with ex-girlfriend Megan Tomlin - has confessed Jacqueline didn't realise the sign on the boat was for her until she heard his nervous laughter.
Dan added: "She covered her face with her hands, she couldn't believe it. She kept saying, 'Oh my God, is this really happening?' She was really confused how it was possible for me to keep it all so secret from her, as she's so good at sussing things out. My knee was hurting so much! We stood cuddling for about five minutes after that."

Jenna Coleman and Emilia Clarke are being lined up to play Queen Victoria in a new drama.
The 'Doctor Who' actress and the 'Game of Thrones' star are among a list of names being linked to the lead role in ITV's upcoming eight-part drama 'Victoria', according to RadioTimes.com.
ITV are said to have put together a list of possibilities - which also includes model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne, 'Downton Abbey' star Lily James and Chloe Moretz - to star in the Daisy Goodwin-scripted project.
The drama, which will chart the early life of the late former monarch as she "leaves childhood behind when she ascends the throne at the tender age of 18", is set to begin filming this autumn and will be broadcast next year.
Writer Daisy previously said of the production: "I've been fascinated by Victoria since I started reading her diaries at university. She's a woman whose personality leaps off the page - a tiny 4 foot 11 teenager who overnight became the most powerful woman in the world, and her candour and spirit makes for an irresistible heroine.
"It wasn't easy; her reign was beset by scandal and sleaze and it was only by sheer force of personality that she prevailed. Her diaries, all 62 million words of them, give an astonishingly vivid picture of her transformation from rebellious teenager into, to my mind, our greatest queen."

Duncan Bannatyne has hinted he's set to marry his new girlfriend.
The 'Dragon's Den' star was hit by allegations he'd threatened to post naked pictures of his ex-girlfriend Michelle Evans online on the weekend but he's now revealed he's unfazed by the claims, which he claims are false, as he's "madly in love" with dental treatment coordinator Nigora Whitehorn.
Asked if he's "bitter" about the recent "kiss and tell", Duncan said: "You don't feel bitter when you're madly in love. I feel like an excited school boy."
Nigora - who met Duncan when he visited the Harley Street dental practice where she works - dismissed Michelle's claims that he refused to pay for meals and made her split the bill, while the 66-year-old star joked that they could be set to walk down the aisle soon.
She told ITV's 'This Morning': "He's the most generous man I've ever met in my life and I've never felt any of that so, for me, it was big shock to read ... I'm very much in love."
Duncan interrupted, adding: "Get your hats ready!"
However, the Scottish entrepreneur - who has daughters Abigail, Hollie, Jennifer and Eve with first wife Gail and daughter Emily and son Thomas with his second wife Joanne McCue - confessed he's yet to introduce Nigora to his children.
Quizzed on whether she'd met his family, he said: "No. Friday she's coming to my house."
Duncan also admitted he became "obsessed" with the brunette beauty before they even started dating and was plotting ways he could get to see her again.
He explained: "I'd spoken to her [at the dental surgery] and I thought, she's so beautiful and I was falling in love with her even then and I spent about two weeks at home thinking about her like, I need to see this woman again, and I thought, I'm going to go back and say I've got a problem with my tooth, and I was sitting there thinking about all these things.
"I was obsessed with her and she didn't know and then I went to the doctors which is near Harley Street to get an X-ray and I'm walking back across the zebra crossing and I see her on the other side of the street."

Lauren Goodger has had her boyfriend's name tattooed on her wrist.
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star only got back together with ex-boyfriend Jake McLean last month but she's now decided to mark their reunion by having his moniker permanently etched on her arm.
She said: "I've had a tattoo of Jake's name inked on my wrist! It was something I wanted to do and I love it - it's really pretty writing and I can't stop looking at it. Jake loves it but he did laugh and say I'm mental. I didn't properly think about it beforehand, I just went and had it done. This is the s**t I do, ha ha! I'd been to pick up some garden furniture, had a pub lunch, then thought, 'I might get a tattoo...' Who does that?!"
The 28-year-old beauty insists she's not worried about splitting from Jake again in the future as she can simply get her body art "removed" and claims she's even thinking about getting another one.
Writing in her column for new! magazine, she shared: "When I told Jake I wanted it he just said, 'Go on then!' I don't worry about changing my mind when I'm older because I can always get it removed. There are always ways around things. I'm actually thinking of getting another one! Can you imagine me with a whole sleeve?!"
Lauren's decision to tattoo Jake's name on her body comes after her ex-fiance and former 'TOWIE' co-star Mark Wright hit out at her for constantly talking about him and their relationship and in turn, "disrespecting" his new wife Michelle Keegan.

Chris Evans will host the new series of 'TFI Friday'.
The 49-year-old presenter - who fronted the original show from 1996 to 1999 - will return to host a six-episode series following on from the success of the anniversary special which aired earlier this month.
Chris -who was recently announced as the replacement for Jeremy Clarkson on BBC Two's 'Top Gear' after signing a £3 million deal - confirmed his return to the Channel 4 show last night (22.06.15).
He wrote on Twitter: "Just written last chapter of new book. Had no idea it was going to start with a secret marathon and end with 'TFI Friday' and 'Top Gear'. Onwards! (sic)"
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Chris added: "I might actually spontaneously explode on live TV due to excitedness."
However, the move is said to have angered BBC bosses who are worried his new position will clash with his 'Top Gear' commitments.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "The BBC are less than happy. They think having him host 'TFI' could really dilute his brand and might take away from what he is going to do on 'Top Gear'. This is a victory for Channel 4."
However, the company have refused to comment on the claims.
A spokesperson said: "We don't comment on contractual matters."

Danniella Westbrook has been axed from 'Hollyoaks' before filming a single scene.
The 41-year-old actress - who was due to reprise her role as Jacqui McQueen's old prison pal Trudy Ryan in the Channel 4 soap later this summer - has had her contract terminated over a "breach of agreement".
A spokesperson for the show said: "Danniella breached her contract and it was terminated last week."
Although it's yet to be revealed what constituted the "breach", Channel 4 bosses are said to have been left with "no choice" but to cancel her upcoming return.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Danniella was given an opportunity in good faith to come back to 'Hollyoaks'.
"She'd been a great addition during her last appearance and her return was tied into a big storyline involving Trevor Royle. But there were stipulations in her contract about her return that she was unable to keep to, even before filming had begun.
"She left show bosses no choice but to let her go."
However, representatives for the blonde beauty have since hit back insisting it was her choice to leave due to ongoing issues with her cage fighter ex-boyfriend Tom Richards, who she previously accused of assaulting her.
Her spokesperson said: "Danniella left 'Hollyoaks' due to the fact her ex was going to be staying in Liverpool at the same time, as he has a training camp there. She feared for her safety."
The news comes after Danniella confessed she recently tried to overdose on cocaine because she "wanted to kill" herself.

Barbara Windsor thinks younger members of the 'EastEnders' cast need a "masterclass" in professionalism.
The veteran soap star - who has played Peggy Mitchell on and off in the BBC One soap for two decades - has slammed the young stars of the show for their tendency to be late and waste time playing on their phones instead of learning their lines.
Barbara - who previously fell out with Kat Moon actress Jessie Wallace for similar reasons - said: "I like things to be right.
"It's common knowledge I fell out with Jessie because she was late sometimes. But everybody was late or talking on their mobiles.
"I don't like that but it's a generational thing. It's difficult. If they are not taught it, then it's not there.
"A lot of young stars haven't had to work their way up. June Brown, who plays Dot Cotton, says I should provide a masterclass for those starting out."
Despite her criticisms, the 77-year-old actress insisted she's still a fan of the show, and has a soft spot for Danny Dyer, who plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter.
She told Yours magazine: "They call me and ask me every so often, which is lovely. I love the show.
"It's wonderful it's doing so well. They've taken risks and it's paid off.
"To take an actor like Danny Dyer, for instance - a good actor but one with a bit of a reputation - and put him in a place where, as Mick Carter, he has to push himself.
"He's created this wonderful character. Mick's just so nice and has a real Fifties feel about him."

Bruce Jones' 'Coronation Street' exit caused him to spiral into depression.
The 62-year-old actor - who starred as cab driver Les Battersby for a decade on the ITV soap, before he was axed in 2007 - has admitted his exit from the show had a dramatic impact on his wellbeing.
Bruce, whose £500,000 Cheshire home was repossessed in 2010, explained: "I didn't know I had depression. I just felt bad. A friend came in because he was worried about me. I'd been in my pyjamas for four days. I never moved.
"My wife got me to the doctor who wanted to give me pills.
"But I told him, 'I'm not taking anti-depressants. I'll get myself out of it'. Which is easier said than done."
The father-of-four is desperate to return to acting, but his struggle to find work has led him to claim benefits.
He told The Sun newspaper: "It's been a journey I never thought I'd go on. I realise it happens to a lot of people.
"There are a lot of really professional people signing on now, which surprised me.
"You can see in their faces they don't want to do it. They want to work. I want to work. I don't like living off the state."
