Danniella Westbrook has been axed from ‘Hollyoaks’ before filming a single scene.
The 41-year-old actress – who was due to reprise her role as Jacqui McQueen’s old prison pal Trudy Ryan in the Channel 4 soap later this summer – has had her contract terminated over a "breach of agreement".
A spokesperson for the show said: "Danniella breached her contract and it was terminated last week."
Although it’s yet to be revealed what constituted the "breach", Channel 4 bosses are said to have been left with "no choice" but to cancel her upcoming return.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Danniella was given an opportunity in good faith to come back to ‘Hollyoaks’.
"She’d been a great addition during her last appearance and her return was tied into a big storyline involving Trevor Royle. But there were stipulations in her contract about her return that she was unable to keep to, even before filming had begun.
"She left show bosses no choice but to let her go."
However, representatives for the blonde beauty have since hit back insisting it was her choice to leave due to ongoing issues with her cage fighter ex-boyfriend Tom Richards, who she previously accused of assaulting her.
Her spokesperson said: "Danniella left ‘Hollyoaks’ due to the fact her ex was going to be staying in Liverpool at the same time, as he has a training camp there. She feared for her safety."
The news comes after Danniella confessed she recently tried to overdose on cocaine because she "wanted to kill" herself.
