David Walliams writing new sketch show

David Walliams is writing a new sketch show.
The 43-year-old star has revealed he is penning a new series, ten years after the end of his hit show 'Little Britain' which he wrote and starred in with fellow comedian Matt Lucas.
However, fans of David's sitcom 'Big School' will be left disappointed as the new project means he won't have time to write a third series with his co-creators Catherine Tate and Philip Glenister.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The BBC asked for a third series, but I asked to do a new sketch show instead, and they agreed."
The BBC confirmed the 'Britain's Got Talent' judge's jam-packed schedule has led to the end of the series but promised "several new projects" with David at the helm.
A spokesperson said: "Writing and filming a series like 'Big School' takes up a huge amount of time and with David's schedule being absolutely jam-packed, after two successful series the show won't be coming back to BBC1.We are working on several new projects with David."
Later this month David - who parted ways with his model wife Lara Stone earlier this year - will also be appearing in the BBC One Agatha Christie drama 'Partners In Crime'.

Alan Davies wants to bring back Jonathan Creek

Alan Davies wants 'Jonathan Creek' to return.
The mystery drama series - which aired from 1997 to 2004 - was one of the BBC's most popular shows and the main star of the show has revealed there's a possibility of a comeback as the writer "hasn't killed off Jonathan".
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: "Our writer David Renwick keeps his cards close to his chest but he hasn't killed Jonathan off. So there's the possibility of more.
"It's amazing how long it's been going and it's fantastic people like it."
Last year the show came back for a special three- episode run for the first time in a decade, drawing more than seven million viewers, but the 49-year-old 'QI' star admitted he is unsure of the show's future.
He explained: "I never know what's going to happen.
"It's all out of my hands in a way. But I've always loved playing him."
However, the comedian previously complained about the series because he received such little pay when he agreed to reprise his role.
He said: "They paid me less for the last series I did of 'Creek' than they paid me for doing the show in the late 1990s and actually wanted to pay me less than the amount that they finally agreed to.
"And it's not just me who gets less, the budgets on 'Creek' as a whole have been massively cut, by two-thirds from how they were 10 years ago."

Brittas Empire returning to TV

'The Brittas Empire' is returning to TV.
The popular 90s sitcom - which ran for 53 episodes from 1991 to 1997 - is in development to make a comeback in an as-yet unannounced form, a BBC spokesperson has confirmed.
Actor Chris Barrie, who played incompetent leisure centre manager Gordon Brittas, said:"One of the original writers is behind it and, fingers crossed, it happens. The script stage is supposed to be done now."
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the show could be back for a one-off Christmas special.
And the return of the programme - which attracted 10 million viewers at its peak - has already been welcomed by Chris' 'Red Dwarf' co-star Norman Lovett.
He said: "That show was better than a lot of things today. I know there's still a lot of support for 'Brittas Empire'. And that character would be very funny today."
It is not yet known whether any other of the former cast members will return for the show's comeback.
Chris previously reprised the character in 2014, making a brief appearance in the music video for Little Mix's Sport Relief single 'Word Up!'.

Bankrupt Ryan Thomas ‘enjoys five summer breaks’

'Coronation Street' star Ryan Thomas has reportedly been on five holidays already this summer - despite being declared bankrupt in October 2013.
The 31-year-old actor - who stars as Jason Grimshaw on the ITV show - still hasn't cleared his debts following a string of bad investments, but that hasn't stopped him from splashing the cash over the last few months on holidays and a £75,000 Mercedes SL.
However, a source told The Sun newspaper: "He is working hard away from the screen to bring in some extra money. But I don't suppose pictures of him swanning off on two foreign holidays in a short space of time will go down too well at the tax office.
"He had a few investments that let him down. In fact, Ryan was a victim of trying to make his money work by investing it."
A source also insisted that some of Ryan's overseas trips were related to work and he's committed to paying the money he owes.
The actor has been doing £2,000-a-night personal appearances in clubs to earn extra cash to reduce his debts, while he is also supporting his daughter Scarlett, who he fathered with fellow 'Coronation Street' star Tina O'Brien.

Peter Jones would ‘love’ to go on Strictly Come Dancing

Peter Jones would "love" to be on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 49-year-old businessman "admires" his 'Dragon's Den' co-panellist Deborah Meaden for her turn on the show and admits the only thing that has stopped him taking part so far is time.
He said: "I would love to do 'Strictly' but it's a question of time. They ask every year.
"I admire Deborah for doing it, it's a big challenge and takes so much of your life away. And she was great in it."
Peter previously took part in a one-off special with former 'Dragon' Duncan Bannatyne.
He told Heat magazine: "I have done it. It was a one-off at the O2 for Sport Relief and I competed against Duncan Bannatyne in front of 10,000 people. I won."
The entrepreneurs are used to passers-by stopping them in the streets to pitch their business ideas, and admitted even famous faces can't resist suggesting investment opportunities.
Deborah said: "I won't name names but yes, quite a lot [of celebrities have pitched us].
"A lot of TV people, comedians and so on aren't necessarily business people but 'business' is something they really want to get into."

Gemma Collins hides her food in restaurants

Gemma Collins hides her food in restaurants.
The 'Only Way is Essex' star has been subjected to taunts about her curvy figure and her friend Chloe Sims says she always does what she can to avoid being photographed tucking into calorific treats.
Chloe said in her Star magazine column: "Gemma said last week that she was worried about eating in public.
"When she's with me, she'll hide her food under the counter because she's so worried someone will photograph her. It's ridiculous. So what if she isn't size 8? The girl's allowed to eat!
"People really need to stop worrying about her size. It's nobody else's business."
Meanwhile Chloe's 'TOWIE' co-star Lewis Bloor has embarked on a new romance, but the outspoken blonde doesn't expect it to last.
She said: "Lewis has been spotted with a new girl called Elle but I wouldn't hold my breath.
"He's seen with a different bird every week.
"If we see him with the same girl for more than three dates, maybe I'll get a chance to meet her, but I wouldn't count on it."

Laura Whitmore has ‘girl crush’ on Davina McCall

Laura Whitmore has a "girl crush" on Davina McCall.
The 30-year-old TV presenter has confessed the 'Long Lost Family' host, 47, is her favourite celebrity and has even told the brunette beauty how attractive she finds her.
Laura said: "(The celebrity I admire most is) Davina McCall - and I've told her! She is my ultimate girl crush!"
Laura also revealed her favourite past-time is knitting and added she loves making clothes for her friends and their children.
The MTV host said: "I knit! Whether it's baby booties or scarves, I love to give my friends' children personalised gifts."
The star - who has been unveiled as the face of Gallo Family Vineyards Spritz - also confessed she likes to be on her own and enjoy "some 'me' time", which includes catching up on her favourite TV shows.
She also relaxes by chatting over a drink with her friends.
Laura said: "I love going to the local park and chilling out with my mates over a drink or BBQ.
"I try to maintain a balanced lifestyle, so if I'm not relaxing with friends, I enjoy taking some 'me' time with a class of Hot Yoga or even just settling down in front of the TV to watch the latest box sets, with a glass of Gallo Family Vineyards Spritz."

Michael Barrymore suing police over arrest

Michael Barrymore is suing the police over his 2007 arrest.
The former 'Barrymore' host is seeking damages claiming his career was destroyed by speculation about his involvement in the death of 31-year-old Stuart Lubbock in March 2001, after the father-of-two was found dead in the swimming pool of Michael's Essex home during a party.
The 63-year-old TV personality was not originally arrested in connection with the case - which has never been solved - although was taken in by police following a review in 2007, later being released without charge.
After Stuart's death, ITV failed to renew his contract and he largely disappeared from screens apart from an attempted comeback when he appeared in the 2006 series of 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
However, Stuart's father, 70-year-old Terry Lubbock, has campaigned for justice since his son's death and said he is "disgusted" by Michael's actions.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I am totally disgusted by this.
"Perhaps one good thing will be if someone feels the same way I do and comes forward with new information about my son Stuart's death.
"I will never give up fighting for justice for my son."
Essex Police declined to comment on the case, saying it would be "inappropriate" to speak about the case.
They added: "As civil proceedings are currently ongoing it would be inappropriate for Essex Police to comment."

Joey Essex’s Twitter hacked

Hackers have targeted Joey Essex's Twitter account and told his fans he wants to become a father.
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star appeared to have gone on a bizarre rant yesterday (06.07.15) when he shared multiple posts about his desire to have a baby with his 3.3 million followers.
However, the 24-year-old star soon revealed his account had been taken over by the new ITV2 show 'Safe Word'.
Speculation began when Joey appeared to have written: "More to life than being reem. Wanna share something with u. I'm hoping to be a dad soon #littleJoeyEssex.
"BTW have froze some sperm just in case. #TrickierThanItSounds #cloudylollipop.
"Just saw a well cute baby outside Tescos. Adopting is when you pick someones baby and make them an offer right? #babyshopping. (sic)".
However, it appears the reality star quickly managed to regain control of his account and blamed the outburst on the new series which is being presented by Rick Edwards and features Katherine Ryan and David Morgan.
He wrote: "If you've noticed strange activity today those messages weren't from me I've been hacked for a new TV series @itv2safeword Coming soon itv2."
The series features two teams - made up of a celebrity and two comedians - who go head to head as both stars have "their public profiles scrutinised and their social media accounts hijacked as the rival panels poke around their personal and professional lives".
The celebrities can only make them stop by using a special 'safe word'.
