Chris Evans ‘very close’ to securing Top Gear co-hosts

Chris Evans is "very close" to securing his 'Top Gear' co-hosts.
The BBC Radio 2 DJ, who was recently announced as the new presenter of the motoring show, has teased he is almost ready to reveal who will be joining him on the popular programme.
He told The Sun newspaper: "There's a lot of talk about talent at the moment. I have got to get that team. It's nearly in place. We're so very close."
The 49-year-old TV personality is set to take over from Jeremy Clarkson who was sacked earlier this year following a "fracas" with a producer, but Chris hinted not everything would be changing with the show as some features will stay.
He said: "I can't tell you what precisely. But it would be silly to throw the baby out with the bath water."
The 'TFI Friday' host went on to reveal it took him only 20 minutes to decide he would accept the job but now described it as "the most challenging thing" he has ever done, insisting it's even more difficult than when he took over the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show from Terry Wogan in 2010.
Explaining his acceptance of the job in an interview with Top Gear magazine, he said: "If I make television programmes for a living and love motor cars and love the biggest challenge in the world, why wouldn't I do it? So, 20 minutes later I phoned back and said, 'Yeah, I'll do it.'
"This is, without doubt, the most challenging thing I have ever done in my career.
"When I took over Terry's (Wogan) show, people kept saying I had 'big shoes to fill', and they're saying it again now.
"I don't mean they're wrong or they're right, it's just such a predictable thing to say - and, by the way, Jeremy is very tall, so they're even bigger shoes."

Jenna Coleman: Female Doctor Who ‘possible’

Jenna Coleman believes it's "absolutely possible" Doctor Who could be a woman.
The 29-year-old actress currently plays the Doctor's companion, Clara Oswald, but believes the show shouldn't be strict about the protagonist's gender as there's "no reason" why the character couldn't regenerate as a female at some point in the future.
When asked if she thought it could happen, she said: "I think it's absolutely possible. There's no reason why not.
"I think Peter Capaldi is doing the most wonderful job so there's not currently a vacancy."
The star isn't the only one to share the idea, as current Doctor, Peter, said he "would expect" for the character to be played by a woman at some point after he leaves the part.
Speaking at Comic-Con in San Diego, he said: "I would expect so at some point, why not? Absolutely.
"I would expect it at any moment. If you turn around right now I might suddenly transform."
However, not all 'Doctor Who' cast members shared the same views as Jenna and Peter, as Michelle Gomez, who plays the Doctor's nemesis Missy, insisted the character is "all man".
She said: "Can I just say on The Doctor's behalf, it's hard for any of us to see past this one - and he's all man."

Big Brother: Jack takes £24,000 from prize fund

'Big Brother''s Jack McDermott has won nearly £24,000
In tonight's episode (12.07.15) of the reality TV show, the 23-year-old McDonalds manager chose to take £23,900 - which the housemates had built up throughout the day - from the winner's prize fund and keep it for himself, as part of a task.
The housemates were standing on podiums watching a one minute countdown on the wall, and were told if they're the first to press their button, they would steal the money from the prize fund and keep it for themselves. They would then be guaranteed to walk away with this money, whenever they leave the house, but must wear it handcuffed to them for the rest of their time in the Borehamwood compound.
Jack pressed his button before Cristian MJC and was then awarded the money, which is now attached to his wrist.
On returning to the house, Jack apologised and said the money would change his life.
Chloe Wilburn - who won £5000 as part of a task earlier this week - then told him: "You did have a go at me for taking £5,000 but I did see 23 and think that has got to be for Jack as it is your lucky number."
Jack replied: "This is the most money I have ever had and will ever have in my life and will go to good and amazing things."
Later, while in the Diary Room, Jack said: "The things I will be able to do with this are unbelievable.
"Joel (Williams) might be a bit peeved as he thinks the prize fund is for the winner so taking out of it is wrong but it is literally life changing for me."

Shane Richie ready to quit the square

Shane Richie is ready to leave EastEnders.
The 52-year-old actor - who joined the square in 2002 - is questioning his role on the popular TV soap and expanding his portfolio with other acting pursuits which could be in preparation for a potential exit from the show.
A source said: "He has really enjoyed going off and working on other acting projects, and if he wants to go, there's nothing the BBC can do to stop him."
The star plays the happy-go-lucky Alfie Moon who is suffering from a brain tumour and has left the square temporarily with his on-screen wife Kat - played by Jesse Wallace, 43 - to film a six-part spin-off series set in Ireland.
The insider told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "The BBC knows how much of a favorite Alfie is and wouldn't dream of axing him. But he has started to question his future as Alfie."
Back in May the actor denied that he was making a permanent exit from EastEnders but explained that the spin-off series was an opportunity to expand the show's potential.
He said: "We want to create something big around them (Kat and Alfie). EastEnders as a brand can afford to do it and I've always wanted to do something like that.
"It's not just about Kat and Alfie. We've created a whole new world and a new lot of characters. The writers have created a really lovely, interesting world, but also with our style of storytelling."
BBC bosses have denied that Shane is due to quit the soap.

Chloe-Jasmine Whichello and Stevi Ritchie are getting married

Chloe-Jasmine Whichello and Stevi Ritchie have gotten engaged.
The blonde beauty met her fiance on the TV talent show 'The X Factor' last year and Stevi reportedly popped the question with a diamond ring that he hid in a £10 handbag.
Stevi took to social media to announce the couple's happy news and his excitement that Chloe said "yes."
He wrote on Twitter: "Hi everyone we are very pleased to announce that me and @CHLOEJASMINEW are engaged I am over the moon thank you peeps. (sic)"
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has reportedly congratulated the pair.
Chloe told The Sun newspaper: "I sent Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, my X Factor mentor, a message to thank her for bringing this amazing person into my life.
"She texted back saying congratulations, and she was so happy for us both. I'd definitely invite her to the wedding if she wanted to come.
"And I think Stevi should have Simon Cowell as his best man."
Meanwhile, Stevi believes that the pair are totally matched in the bedroom department and revealed that he sees Chloe as someone he can make "love" with.
He told The Sun newspaper: "We have had a really great connection in bed since the start. If we were at sixth base before, now we're definitely a ten -- the sex is very magical.
"Instead of saying 'shag', now I say 'make love'. When you have a one-night stand with someone then it's just a shag.
He went on: "But when you're in a relationship and in love, you say 'make love'. So I would say that I'm making love to my fiancée Chloe-Jasmine tonight.
"I love her a**e, but the most important thing is that I love her as a person. She is ditzy and forgetful, but I like that.

Chris Gascoyne returned to Coronation Street for Anne Kirkbride

Chris Gascoyne wanted to come back to 'Coronation Street' for Anne Kirkbride.
The 47-year-old actor has revealed when he heard the actress, who played his on-screen mother Deirdre Barlow in the ITV soap, passed away from cancer aged 60 in January, he didn't think twice about returning to play Peter Barlow for the on-screen funeral.
He said: "I was very happy to come back. I was very close to Annie Kirkbride, and when I heard she'd passed away, I thought Peter should come back for both her and Deirdre's sake."
The actor - who left 'Corrie' last year after 14 years on the cobbles - went on to explain how "weird" he found shooting a funeral for Deirdre, due to be shown on ITV on Monday night (13.07.15), as he kept "remembering Annie".
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Chris said: "It felt weird to be doing a scene about Deirdre's funeral - it still feels slightly odd. There were moments when I was flipping between thinking about Deirdre and remembering Annie. They were a strange couple of days - ones I'd hoped wouldn't come for many years.
"Annie has gone and we'll all be in a poorer place without her, but at least now I feel I can put that to rest and accept it."

Sally and Kevin Webster to rekindle relationship?

Sally and Kevin Webster could be set to rekindle their relationship on 'Coronation Street'.
The former on-screen couple, played by Sally Dynevor and Michael Le Vell, will be seen locking lips on the ITV soap, sparking speculation they're set to get back together for a third time.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "You'd think that two divorces would put you off trying a third time, but it becomes clear that there are still feelings there.
"The question is, will it go any further? If the past is anything to go by they could be set for a wedding hat-trick."
Sally and Kevin - who have daughters Rosie and Sophie together - first tied the knot it 1987 but divorced ten years later after Kevin's affair with Natalie Horrocks.
However, the car mechanic managed to win the Underworld employee back in 2002 before embarking on yet another affair with his colleague Tyrone Hobbs' wife Molly.
Sally discovered the truth in 2010 when Molly revealed on her death bed that Kevin was the father of her son Jack and Sally kicked him out and filed for divorce once again.
And their on/off romance will remain as complicated as ever as Sally is still engaged to window cleaner Tim Metcalfe.

Aidan Turner to star in And Then There Were None

Aidan Turner is to star in the TV adaptation of Agatha Christie's novel 'And Then There Were None'.
The 'Poldark' heartthrob has been cast as ex-mercenary Philip Lombard in BBC One's upcoming adaptation of the best-selling crime novel.
The 32-year-old actor's character is one of 10 strangers invited by a mystery host to Soldier's Island off the coast of Devon where each of them is accused of a terrible crime before they're slowly picked off one by one.
Turner joins a star-studded cast which includes 'The Riot Club' actor Douglas Booth, Charles Dance, Miranda Richardson, Anna Maxwell Martin and 'Jurassic Park's Sam Neill.
The crime thriller will be screened in the autumn to mark the 125th anniversary of Christie's birth.
Her grandson Mathew Prichard said: "I am so excited that this, the most iconic of Agatha Christie stories is being made for television with this truly extraordinary cast.
"My grandmother would be thrilled to know that a new generation will be able to enjoy 'And Then There Were None' when it appears on the BBC."
Although many of Christie's other novels, most notably those featuring the detectives Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot have been adapted for television, this is the first time this story will be shown on the small screen.
BBC drama commissioner Polly Hill said: " We are thrilled to be bringing Agatha Christie's wonderful novel to the television screen for the first time. This stellar cast will prove to be a real treat for the BBC One audience."

Danny Dyer: Countdown’s Susie Dent a ‘raving sort’

Danny Dyer thinks 'Countdown's Susie Dent is a "raving sort".
The 'EastEnders' actor - who got engaged to his childhood sweetheart Joanne Mas earlier this year - has previously confessed the Dictionary Corner host is his "weird crush" and he's now explained why.
The 37-year-old star appeared on '8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown' last night (10.07.1%) and revealed he has the hots for the linguistics expert when asked by host Jimmy Carr if he was "feeling confident".
Danny replied: "Yeah, well ... I'd rather be with [Susie] Dent over there. She is double clever and she has a lovely beautiful boat [face]."
Former 'Strictly Come Dancing' contestant Rachel Riley - who is the maths expert on the Channel 4 show then revealed that Susie had been made aware of his feelings towards her.
The blonde beauty said: "Susie has had a complex since you described her on Radio 1 as your weird crush."
Danny - who plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter in the BBC One soap - then added: "She [Susie] is a raving sort."
