Tom Hanks and Amy Adams accidentally listed for Oscar

Tom Hanks and Amy Adams were accidentally among the nominees listed on the official Academy Awards website.
The 60-year-old actor and the 42-year-old actress were erroneously included in the Best Actor and Best Actress categories – for ‘Sully’ and ‘Arrival’ respectively – on the Oscars online outlet shortly after the nominations were announced on Tuesday (24.01.17).
ABC Digital has since recognised their error and apologised, as well as correcting their mistake.
Speaking in a statement about their blunder, they said: "This morning, in an attempt to release breaking news as announced, ABC Digital briefly posted inaccurate nomination information on the Oscar.com website."
However, they have also defended their actions and admitted although the website was incorrect their social media posts were all "accurate".
They explained: "The nominees announced by the Academy on Twitter were accurate. ABC quickly identified and corrected the errors. We apologise to the Academy, press and fans for any confusion."
However, the flame-haired beauty has admitted she wasn’t aware of the error, which saw her false nomination replace Ruth Negga’s nod for Best Actress in ‘Loving’, until after it had been corrected.
And that wasn’t the only mistake to be made, as ‘Lion’s Facebook and Twitter accounts incorrectly praised Naomi Watts earning a Best Supporting Actress nomination for the drama film instead of 49-year-old Nicole Kidman, who plays Dev Patel’s on-screen adoptive mother, Sue Brierley, in the movie.
The upload was a picture detailing the six nods they had received, and read: "BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: NAOMI WATTS."
However, the post has since been removed from all of their accounts and replaced with a corrected version.
The 89th Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood and Highland Center on Sunday February 26.
