Robbie Williams teases Take That reunion

Robbie Williams is “sure” he’ll perform with Take That again in the future.

The Angels hitmaker – who rose to fame as a member of the legendary boy band in 1990 before leaving five years later and embarking on a solo career – isn’t ruling out a reunion one day, although he doesn’t think he’ll be part of Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen’s revival of The Circus tour.

Appearing on BBC Radio 2, Robbie told presenter Scott Mills: “Would I return to Take That to do the Circus again? I did love it last time.

“Not right now. I’m sure we’ll all ride again, but it’s not in my plans.”

However, the 51-year-old singer – who will release his new album Britpop next month – still has fond memories of the 2009 tour, which led to him rejoining he group for their 2010 Progress record and live dates.

He said: “It’s one of the best shows ever. That was what did it. Gaz came round to the house in Los Angeles, and he had a copy of the show.

“He played it me, and I literally stood, didn’t sit, stood and watched it spellbound. Loved it, and I was like, ‘I want back in.’

“The boys are redoing the Circus Tour, and it’s a great idea. It’s caught everybody’s imaginations, and the tickets are doing incredibly well.”

Gary, Howard and Mark will embark on the tour this year as the remaining members of Take That, while Jason Orange – who left the band in 2014 – will not be involved.

The group previously announced: “The Circus tour was one of our favourite experiences as a band and, in the years since, we’ve talked many times about how much we’d love to do it again one day.

“Well, that time has come! We’re so excited to welcome audiences old and new across the UK and Ireland to the spectacle of The Circus Live next summer. See you out there!”
