Bill Murray has paid tribute to Harold Ramis.
The 'Monuments Men' actor has recalled the numerous projects he worked on with the late actor - who passed away aged 69 in the early hours of Monday (24.02.14) morning after suffering autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis for a number of years - and says he "earned his keep".
He said in a statement to TIME: "Harold Ramis and I together did the 'National Lampoon Show' off Broadway, 'Meatballs', 'Stripes', 'Caddyshack', 'Ghostbusters' and 'Groundhog Day'.
"He earned his keep on this planet. God bless him."
In 2009, Harold admitted he and Bill, 63, hadn't spoken since working on 'Groundhog Day' in 1993, but was hopeful they could enjoy a "great reunion" one day in the future.
He said: "I've had many dreams about him, that we're friends again. There was a great reunion feeling in those dreams. Bill was a strong man.
"I could help him be the best Bill Murray he could be, and I think he appreciated that then. And I don't know where that went, but it's there on film."
Harold is survived by his wife, Erica Mann Ramis, their two sons, Julian and Daniel as well as his daughter, Violet Ramis, with former spouse Anne Plotkin.

Shane Warne is "still friends" with his ex-fiancée Elizabeth Hurley.
The retired cricketer called off his engagement to the British actress last winter, two years after he popped the question, with the couple reportedly blaming their busy schedules for growing apart.
He confirmed their split had been amicable on Australian breakfast show 'Sunrise' yesterday (25.02.14), saying: "Elizabeth and I are still friends and we catch up when we can. It's a shame it's all over and done, but that's the way it goes unfortunately."
The sportsman was quick to dismiss rumours he had been romancing lingerie entrepreneur Michelle Mone when reporters quizzed him whether the claims he spent four hours in the millionaire's Dorchester Hotel room in London earlier this month were true.
Shane scoffed on another breakfast show, 'Today': "It's nobody's business but that's all absolute rubbish, just for the record."
He jetted back to the UK two weeks ago to visit Liz at the £6 million Herefordshire mansion they bought in 2012 for a catch-up, before travelling to London together and staying at her townhouse.
Shane is then alleged to have visited Michelle the next day, taking roses and champagne up to her hotel suite.
He insisted in a third interview with Triple M's 'Hot Breakfast': "I'm single, I'm not seeing anyone, I'm not dating anyone, I haven't got the hots for anyone."
Michelle also denied the rumours on Twitter last week, posting: "FTR [for the record] I'd never ever meet a guy if he was taken. It was done to me and I remember that pain. / I've been single for 18 months, very independent, successful and don't need anyone for anything other than my family."

Rihanna has been partying in Paris with Drake.
The 'Pour It Up' singer fuelled rumours she was back with her ex by joining him at Soixante Dix Neuf nightclub in the French capital, where Drake was making a personal appearance for the venue's first anniversary on Monday night (24.02.14).
The Bajan beauty - who had a brief fling with the rapper in 2009 in the wake of her split from on/off beau Chris Brown - sipped on cocktails made with Belvedere Vodka and watched as Drake took to the DJ booth.
A source told Us Weekly: "She didn't want to be seen at all. She kept her head down and charged through to the back of the club with her friends.
"They had a private space and stayed there most of the time. Drake looked very tired, but was smiling around Rihanna. They chatted, danced a little, and seemed close."
Drake was in Paris to perform at the Palais Omnisport de Bercy, where the 26-year-old singer was his guest of honour in the audience.
According to the MailOnline, the alleged couple were also spotted dining out together at L'Avenue over the weekend, leaving separately to hide from photographers.
Drake recently admitted Rihanna was the woman of his dreams, saying: "She's the ultimate fantasy. I mean, I think about it. Like, 'Man, that would be good.' We have fun together, she's cool and s**t. But we're just friends. That's my dog for life."

Beyoncé Knowles has paid tribute to a former colleague, who died in a car accident involving Salma Hayek's brother.
The 'XO' hitmaker posted a touching message about Grammy Award-winning art director Ian Cuttler Sala, after he was identified as the 43-year-old passenger killed in Sami Hayek's 2006 Ford GT when he crashed in Bel Air in Los Angeles on Sunday (24.02.14).
The 32-year-old singer wrote: "Rest in Peace Ian Cuttler. Ian was a Grammy Award winning art director and photographer who will be greatly missed. His memorable work includes album covers for 'Destiny Fulfilled' and 'Dangerously in Love.'"
Sami, 40, lost control of his vehicle when he was driving on Sunset Boulevard.
Ian, who worked with many other stars in the past and won a Grammy Award in 2005 for Best Art Direction for 'Johnny Cash: The Legend,' was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles Fire Department, while Sami was taken to hospital after sustaining several broken ribs and a laceration to his head.
A 20-year-old truck driver that was also involved in the crash suffered a broken foot.
Law enforcement officers believe Sami lost control after swerving to avoid an on-coming vehicle, but the investigation is still continuing and no arrests have been made.
Salma, 47, is yet to comment on the incident.

Justin Bieber's bodyguard was reportedly arrested on Tuesday (25.02.14).
The 19-year-old star's security guard was taken into police custody for questioning after being accused of stealing a photographer's camera while the singer was visiting an amusement park in Atlanta, Georgia.
A law enforcement source told gossip website TMZ.com that one of the 'Heartbreaker' hitmaker's minders got into an argument with the paparazzo and grabbed his camera before jumping into the star's Escalade and instructing their driver to flee the scene.
Police officers later returned the camera to the photographer after locating it inside the vehicle that was parked outside the Canadian star's new rental home in the city.
Officers are still deciding whether to arrest the driver in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, Justin's on/off companion Chantal Jeffries, who was with him when he was arrested in Miami last month, has hit back at allegations she is a "gold digger" and only using him for fame.
She told E! News: "If anything you could say I'm a goal digger because I have my own goals and I'm focused on that.
"I have my own eyebrow line. I designed the products and I picked everything that I wanted, I put all my own money into it. I make money from that, I make my own money from modelling, I go to school, so I don't need really anybody else.
"I'm a strong independent woman so I don't need a guy."
The model also insisted she had never seen Justin use drugs and their relationship isn't romantic.
She said: "Justin's fun. He's cool, he's a good person."
The 'Baby' hitmaker is scheduled to appear in court in Florida on March 3 after being charged with driving under the influence (DUI), driving with an expired licence and resisting arrest last month.

Scarlett Johansson doesn't see herself as a role model.
'The Avengers' actress hinted she quit her role as an ambassador for Oxfam after eight years last month because she didn't want her image to be controlled by a "global platform."
The 29-year-old star told Dazed magazine: "I don't see myself as being a role model; I never wanted to step into those shoes."
Scarlett sparked controversy when she chose to step away from the anti-poverty organisation, which opposes all trade from Israeli settlements, in favour of continuing her relationship with SodaStream, which has a factory in the country's West Bank, and appeared in a Super Bowl ad to promote the fizzy drink firm last month.
Although the actress didn't directly discuss her fallout with the charity, she said: "How could I wake up every day and be a normal person if I was completely aware that my image was being manipulated on a global platform. How could I sleep?
"You have to have peace of mind. You've got to be able to protect those things. How else could you exist? You'd go crazy, anybody would go crazy."
The 'Her' star's spokesperson released a statement following her split from Oxfam that said: "Scarlett Johansson has respectfully decided to end her ambassador role with Oxfam after eight years.
"She and Oxfam have a fundamental difference of opinion in regards to the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement. She is very proud of her accomplishments and fundraising efforts during her tenure with Oxfam."

Kim Kardashian insists her upcoming wedding will be "super small" and intimate.
The 33-year-old reality TV star is set to marry Kanye West in Paris in May and, despite reports it will be an extravagant affair, she admits friends and family members are being axed from their guest list every day.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' beauty said: "We're having a super, super, just small, intimate...as we're going along we're realising that we just want it to be more small and intimate than people are imagining and thinking."
Kim, who has an eight-month-old daughter North, is also rethinking the number of children she wants to have.
She told 'On Air with Ryan Seacrest' on Tuesday (25.02.14): "I don't think I can do more than three, tops. That would be my absolute tops, tops, tops. I even contemplate, should North just be an only child? But then I remember all the Christmases, and all of the fun experiences I had and I might just have to tough it out."
She added: "I am loving life right now. My daughter is the cutest thing ever. I know every parent says that about their own kid, but...I'm loving being a mom. I never thought I would say that.
"I went into this so scared, so scared of every last thing pregnancy meant and motherhood and the responsibility. I always wanted kids, but for some reason when I got pregnant I was so scared. Everyone tells you about having a kid and how it will change your life and it's the greatest experience and you'll love it; it's that times 100."

Beyoncé Knowles' half-brother's mother isn't angry the singer has never met him.
The 32-year-old star's father Matthew Knowles has a four-year-old son, Nixon, with his ex-girlfriend Alexsandra Wright, who claims he is still behind on his child support payments and never spends time with the little boy, but doesn't think their issues have anything to do with the 'Pretty Hurts' hitmaker.
The former 'Scrubs' actress, who previously claimed Matthew asked her to hand Nixon over to Beyoncé and Jay Z when he was born in February 2010 so they could raise him as their own child, told Inside Edition: "I don't expect Beyoncé to take accountability. It's not her problem. It's not her situation."
Alexsandra said Matthew still owes her $32,000 in court-ordered child support payments, which he denied in December and insisted was merely the result of a paperwork delay.
She added: "I tried everything to not have it public, but unfortunately that's just not the way that Matthew chose to deal with this.
"I'm going to stand up and I'm going to fight, and I'm going to fight the next day because that's the only way to give him his identity."
Matthew married former model Gena Avery in Houston, Texas last July but neither Beyoncé nor her younger sister Solange Knowles, 27, attended the ceremony.
The 'XO' singer, who has a two-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Jay Z, previously hinted that she and Matthew, who split from her mother Tina Knowles in 2009 and divorced her in December 2011 after 31 years of marriage, were still in the process of rebuilding their relationship after they decided he would no longer be her manager in 2011.

George Clooney took Amal Alamuddin as his date to meet US President Barack Obama.
The 'Monuments Men' star, who brushed off rumours he was romancing the British human rights lawyer in October, brought the brunette beauty, who represents WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, and his parents, Nick and Nina Clooney, to a private screening of the film at the White House in Washington D.C. last week.
An insider told the MailOnline website that Amal was George's guest and they were the talk of the event, as they seen cosying up to each other when they arrived.
The duo also enjoyed drinks with the 52-year-old actor's co-stars Bill Murray, Matt Damon and his wife Luciana at the Round Robin and Scotch Bar at the Willard Hotel in the city afterwards, and an eyewitness said: "They looked very much together, George had his arm around her and she appeared to be a girlfriend.
"They were in a small group of about 10 people, it's really a small venue and there were maybe only about 30 people in the bar, and they were sitting at a table off to the side."
Amal and George were photographed having dinner in London in October but a friend close to Oscar-winning actor, who split from his former wrestler Stacy Keibler last summer, claimed at the time that he was just working with Amal on a surveillance satellite program over Syria.
