Pharrell Williams loves British rain

Pharrell Williams loves British weather and claimed it helps create "special" music.
The 'Happy' hitmaker - who appeared at the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clefs Awards yesterday (04.07.14) - doesn't mind the rain in the UK because he thinks it plays its part in the country's rich history of art.
Speaking before accepting the Raymond Weil International Award at the ceremony at the London Hilton hotel, he said: "Music is special here. It's not the water, it's the vibrations from the land.
"It's also to do with the climate, it's grey, a lot of the emotions are always up and the music and art is amazing because of it.
"That sounds a little esoteric but when you think about it geographically, in places where it rains a lot, art tends to be so good. U2, [David] Bowie, Elton John, it's all rain music."
The producer also praised upcoming British talent, suggesting Ed Sheeran is already one of the best.
He added: "Ed Sheeran is one of the greatest, period. Sam Smith is talented, he's different.
"I love what Disclosure's doing. What I notice is that the R&B scene here is becoming super interesting."

One Direction are ‘too busy’ for Olly Murs’ BBQs

One Direction are always "too busy" to attend Olly Murs' barbecues.
The 30-year-old singer admitted while he "always" asks the 'Story of My Life' hitmakers to join him so he can cook them a tasty meal, they never have time to take him up on the offer.
Speaking at the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards, he told the Daily Star newspaper: "I always invite the 1D boys to my BBQs but they're too busy.
"My trick is to cook the chicken for a really long time. There's been no food poisoning yet!"
Olly added he had recently met up with Cheryl Cole after a few years without seeing her, and he approves of her new man Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.
He added: "I saw her for the first time in five years recently. Cheryl's new guy is a nice lad. She seemed very happy."
Meanwhile, One Direction may not have time for BBQs but they had to get close with supergroup McBusted after they were forced to share a dressing room on tour.
Matt Willis recently said: "I think Niall [Horan] was a bit fascinated about how we're all in the same dressing room. How we'd fit!"
James Bourne added: "We don't have individual rooms or individual riders. We arrive together, we leave together, we change together, we shower together."

Kanye West’s train delayed by four hours

Kanye West's train was delayed by four hours as he headed to Wireless festival in London.
The 'Clique' rapper - who was performing at the event on Friday (04.07.14) - was stuck on a train taking him from Paris to the British capital city on Thursday night.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the Eurostar stopped at Calais due to a "technical fault", leaving the star - and other passengers - stranded for several hours.
With soaring heat making the wait even more uncomfortable, they were taken back to Lille to change trains - and it is said Kanye was happy to pose for pictures with fans while they all waited.
The star - who will also perform at the festival tonight - had agreed to take to the stage both evenings after Friday night headliner Drake pulled out due to illness.
However, he was booed by the audience after ranting for 20 minutes mid-show about discrimination in the fashion industry.
According to previous reports, he told the crowd: "I'm not going to mention any names but... Nike, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Don't discriminate against me 'cos I'm a black man making music."

Helena Bonham Carter’s game obsession

Helena Bonham Carter is "addicted" to Candy Crush Saga.
The 'Young and Prodigious T.S. Spirit' actress tries to limit the access her children Billy, 10, and Nell, six, have to gaming devices, but feels a bit hypocritical because she plays the sweet-swapping game whenever she can.
She said: "The challenge is to find something we all like doing and to get the children away from the screens, like iPads.
"Although I can't be too strict as I'm a bit addicted to Candy Crush."
When they're not playing computer games, Helena says her family love to get creative together, with her partner Tim Burton being a gifted artist.
She added: "Like anyone else we need to eat, run a household, but we're good at games and making things.
"Tim is good at drawing and painting, that's the one thing we like to do together, drawing and painting and making things."
And the brunette beauty is fascinated by her kids' imaginations.
She added to Britain's HELLO! magazine: "Pretty much every child is born with imagination. I love my children and their unique perspective.
"A kid's take on things is totally original, until it gets stamped out of them by school and the rest of us. The need to conform is pretty endemic in society."

Demi Lovato had it easier than Miley

Demi Lovato thinks she's had it easier than Miley Cyrus.
The 21-year-old singer believes checking into rehab for addiction issues and an eating disorder in 2012 helped cushion the transition from being a Disney child star to a mainstream pop artist for her.
Asked why she didn't leave Disney and develop a raunchy image, she said: "I guess my transition was a little easier because I went straight to rehab. I didn't twerk - I just went to rehab!
"But you know what, I think the world needs to get over the fact that [Miley] was Hannah Montana when she was 16.
"Nobody knows her. Nobody really knows who I am, and the same with Selena [Gomez] and Jonas [Brothers] and everyone that has grown up in front of the public eye. We're adults now."
Demi admires her friend's guts for building such a strong image, but worries that her hyper sexualised, tongue-waggling persona is "overshadowing" her talent.
She told We Love Pop magazine: "I think she knows what she's doing. A lot of artists take that route of shock value and that's fine, but I think she has such an incredible voice that's overshadowed by some of the things that she's doing.
"I'll always love her - she's been one of my friends since I was 14. But everyone is on their different journeys and she's having fun, she's being who she is - so power to her."

Teenage dresser Katy Perry

Katy Perry dresses like a 13 year old.
The 'Roar' singer favours bright colours and playful stage costumes by brands like Moschino and Cavalli during her 'Prismatic World Tour' because she still has the same fun-loving sense of style she had when she was a teenage girl.
She said: "There's a lot of colour in my shows. I have so much fun with it. I'm going to be 30 at the end of this year, but I still feel like a 13 year old. Right now, I'm really obsessed with the Versace early 90s soft-grunge look, but I don't think there should be any rules when it comes to colour."
Despite being on stage almost every night during her world tour, Katy ensures she does at least 30 minutes of cardio per day.
She explained to Britain's InStyle magazine: "When I'm on tour, the exercise routine is vigorous. I'll work out every day, and I don't have time for a full hour of exercise, I'll run on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I actually love having that uninterrupted time to listen to new music or my favourite albums, and it feels great to get the blood circulating, too."
And Katy is so obsessed with her beauty products that she refuses to stay over at friends' houses without them.
She laughed: "Me and my dancers love playing around with make-up and nails. Going over to casually stay at someone's house is not possible unless they have the same 52 products as me!"

Selena Gomez urged to return to rehab

Selena Gomez's family are reportedly urging her to check back into rehab this weekend.
The 'Come & Get It' hitmaker, who secretly spent two weeks at the Dawn at the Meadows treatment facility in Arizona in January, is said to be dealing with a lot of stress and is being encouraged to seek help immediately.
A source told gossip website HollywoodLife.com: "Family and friends are stressing to Selena that she should enter rehab this weekend."
The brunette beauty recently rekindled her on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber, but he spent America's Independence Day surrounded by other women on a yacht in Miami on Friday (04.07.14).
The insider added: "She is a mess over what Justin has been doing to her, and how he has played with her emotions.
"And with this weekend being all about partying, people in her camp believe she is going to partake in it and really get into some trouble so they want to get her help as soon as possible."
The 21-year-old star's paternal grandmother, Mary Gomez recently admitted she is worried about the young star, claiming she has been diagnosed with Lupus.
She said: "I am very worried about her. I pray to God every day for her - and all the people in our church are praying for her to get better.
"Selena is very stressed and concerned about her condition. I am, too."
She added: "She is too busy. She needs to rest. We all want her to get this under control."

Jessica Simpson emotional before wedding

Jessica Simpson was extremely emotional at her rehearsal dinner.
The 33-year-old star and her fiancé, Eric Johnson, were joined by approximately 70 family members and friends at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California on Thursday night (03.07.14) for their first pre-wedding celebration ahead of their lavish nuptials later today (05.07.14).
A source told E! News that the singer, who wore a beaded silver mini dress, got teary-eyed several times when friends stood up and gave heart-warming speeches to toast the couple.
The insider said: "It was very sweet."
The group, who partied until approximately 10 p.m., enjoyed a light meal of fish and vegetables, selected by Jessica, and sat at two large tables, lined with pink, purple, white and yellows flowers.
The couple's children, Maxwell, two, and Ace, 12 months, were the centre of attention at the bash, and were both dressed in formal attire, according to the source.
The group also held another party to celebrate America's Independence Day on Friday (04.07.14), ahead of their "rustic chic" ceremony.
A source previously revealed that the 'Sweetest Skin' hitmaker sent a strict email out to her guests, instructing them not to bring any cell phones or cameras to their wedding, as they have inked a lucrative deal with a magazine to publish the photographs.
The Weight Watchers spokesperson, who announced she was engaged to Eric in November 2010, was previously married to Nick Lachey, while the Yale graduate, 34, was married to Keri D'Angelo for five years before their divorce was finalised in October 2010.

Demi Lovato feuding with Selena Gomez?

Demi Lovato has sparked rumours she has fallen out with Selena Gomez again.
The 'Heart Attack' hitmaker, who previously admitted her long-time friendship with the 'Spring Breakers' actress, 21, has been strained in the past, sent the rumour mill into overdrive when she stopped following Selena on Twitter on Wednesday (02.07.14) shortly after posting a cryptic angry message.
The 21-year-old singer allegedly wrote: "Swimming away from the bullsh*t bye b*tch (sic)," but the post has since been deleted.
The duo, who have both sought treatment in rehab, have been friends since they starred in 'Barney & Friends' as children.
A source also told gossip website HollywoodLife.com: "Demi doesn't need any extra drama, she's learned from her own recovery to lose the people that bring her down and Selena is to much of a headache.
"The unfollowing of Selena is sending a message that Demi is p***ed. She is sick of Selena's boy-who-cried-wolf mentality."
The 'Neon Lights' hitmaker and Selena, who is also said to have distanced herself from a number of her other celebrity pals, including Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner, have had a complicated relationship in recent years.
Last year, the former 'X Factor' USA judge said: "We've been through a lot together, we've had periods of times we here we grew apart and we just didn't really talk."
But she added: "Now we are in a place where I think we realised that life is so short and that when you have people in your life that love you so much then, you should just always be around them.
"Everything about her, she has a great soul, she's talented, she's beautiful, and she will always be really, really close to my heart."
