Chloë Grace Moretz thinks she's too young to have a serious boyfriend.
The 'Equalizer' star admits she usually takes her mother, Teri, or brother Trevor to red carpet events, as she doesn't want to "waste away" her youth in a relationship and worries about hurting boys.
She said: "It's a tough age to fall in love: people change so quickly."
She added: "I don't want to have to feel like I have to watch my step, 'cause I'm 17 and I shouldn't have to."
The 'Carrie' star, who is close friends with Taylor Swift, isn't happy that so many of her pals are already in long-term romances.
She told the September issue of Flare magazine: "I'm like, 'Dude, you're wasting away your entire high-school years, and now you're going to waste away your college years. You're going to spend your entire life in a relationship and then you're going to get married...and then you're dead! So you lived your life in a relationship!' That's not my style."
The blonde beauty insists she doesn't find it hard to have a private life despite her fame.
She said: "When you're with someone who's just your friend, then they [the paparazzi] take photos, but when you're out with your boyfriend, they never find out. It's like, 'You guys are so dumb; you're missing your opportunity!'"

Kanye West wants to put his plans to have a second child with Kim Kardashian on ice.
The 'New Slaves' hitmaker, who has 13-month-old daughter North with the reality TV star, is reportedly stressed out by his wife's desire to expand their family as soon as possible, as he wants to embark on another world tour after the release of his upcoming album.
A source told gossip website RadarOnline.com: "Kim has made no secret for her desire to get pregnant right away with another baby. However, Kanye is resisting because he is going to be going on a worldwide tour after the release of his upcoming album."
The duo, who got married in Italy in May and are still living with Kim's mother Kris Jenner in Calabasas, California, are also gearing up to sell their lavish mansion in Bel Air, as they are fed up of waiting for their extensive renovations to be completed, and the insider added: "The couple doesn't even have their own house to live in! It's just too much chaos for Kanye to handle."
But Kim, 33, is said to be desperate to have more children.
An insider previously said: "I think Kim will definitely have another baby soon - she wants to."
Speaking in an interview with Ryan Seacrest earlier this year, the brunette beauty also confessed she wanted more kids but said she couldn't "do more than three tops".

The 26-year-old actor opened up about his troubles on the new NBC reality series, 'Running Wild with Bear Grylls,' and confessed he previously struggled to cope with fame.
Speaking about finding success at an early age, he said: "You know it was just so quick, it's shocking, you know what I mean.
"The challenging part was never the work, it was sort of the in between work, the social aspects outside of it."
He added: "You spend a lot of time in your house going crazy, you know pretty soon you need a social lubricant. Once I needed that, it became to go anywhere. It was getting to the point where I was caring less about the work and waiting more for the weekend, where I couldn't wait to go out and sort of let loose and have fun. But then when Monday and Tuesday were too difficult to get through, then I was like, 'Oh, this is bad.' "
Zac is trying to embrace a more relaxed lifestyle in a bid to stay sober.
He said: "I just really never again want to have to take anything from the outside in to me to feel good about my outside, [I want] to be comfortable in my present skin, and that takes a lot of work. It's just meditation and stopping, slowing down your brain."

Hayden Panettiere's fiancé Wladimir Klitschko thinks she's going to be "an amazing mother."
The heavyweight professional boxer, 38, is thrilled the 'Nashville' actress, 24, is expecting their first child and is looking forward to their lives changing forever.
The Ukrainian athlete told E! News: "When you're going to become a father or a parent, your life is going to change. So I look forward to having my life change for the good and I heard, just recently, somebody said, 'You don't know what love is until you have your first baby, then you know what love is.' So I think I know what love is, but I look forward to getting more knowledgeable about that."
Asked about his fiancée, Wladimir said: "She's an amazing person and I'm more than sure that she's going to be an amazing mom."
The blonde beauty, who previously claimed she was born to be a mother, was very vocal about her desire to start a family to Wladimir.
He said: "Her wish to become a mother and have a child [was something] she's been mentioning and telling me about a lot. You know, every dream will eventually come true and she's going to be more than an amazing mother."
He also hinted they are planning to keep the sex of their baby a surprise until the birth, saying: "It's not important where the baby is going to be born, it's not important [whether it's a] boy or girl, what's important is that the baby's healthy."

Mila Kunis celebrated her baby shower on Sunday (27.07.14).
The 'Black Swan' star, who is expecting her first child with fiancé Ashton Kutcher this year, attended a top secret party in her honour in Los Angeles, where she was joined by a small group of close female friends.
A source told E! News: "It was very small and intimate. Just her close friends and family."
The celebration did not have a theme, but the brunette beauty, 30, opened a number of gifts for her unborn baby, rumoured to be a baby girl.
Reports initially indicated the fiercely private star would give birth in October, but rumours are rampant that she could be set to become a mother as soon as next month.
The former 'That 70s Show' star recently admitted she is very excited to marry her former co-star, 36, and is believed to be preparing to walk down the aisle next July.
She said: "I never wanted to get married. From the age of 12, I prepared my parents for no marriage. Then things changed--I found the love of my life. Now my theory on weddings is: Don't invite anyone. Do it privately and secretly. My parents are okay with that. They're just excited that I said yes."
She added: "We all get movie star crushes. I'm marrying mine."

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin seemed "really happy" at a movie screening on Monday night (28.07.14).
The 41-year-old 'Iron Man' actress and the Coldplay frontman, who have two children, Apple, 10, and Moses, nine, and announced their split in late March after 10 years of marriage, reportedly appeared "like they were still married" at a screening of 'Hector And The Search For Happiness' in East Hampton, New York.
An eyewitness told PEOPLE.com that Gwyneth, who was accompanied to the event by her mother, Blythe Danner, hosted the special evening for her and Chris' long-time friend, Simon Pegg, who stars in the new film and is Apple's godfather.
The source added: "They seemed so comfortable with each other. It was like they were still married."
Another observer said: "I don't know what's going on with them, but they seem really happy."
Chris, who arrived at the event separately, was spotted chatting to his estranged wife and friends, including Simon, as he sat at a table with Blythe, whom he later escorted back to her car.
Simon also praised the former couple for being "so down-to-earth" at the gathering.
The British actor said: "We go back a long way. I've known Chris for 15 years and I was there when they met and they are dear friends. And Chris is the godfather to my daughter, Tilly, as well. They are both so down-to-earth."

The 'Poker Face' hitmaker, who is gearing up to release a jazz album, 'Cheek to Cheek,' with the legendary singer, 87, in September, recently had a special trumpet inked on her body to help her remember working with him.
The 28-year-old star, who is believed to have 15 other tattoos, told PEOPLE.com: "I asked Tony to draw me a trumpet, and he sketched me Miles Davis' trumpet. Then I had it tattooed with his last name, Benedetto, underneath. Just so I would always remember this time together."
The singer became "fast friends" with Tony, but was "so nervous" before meeting him for the first time at a charity gala in 2011.
She said: "We were fast friends - friends ever since [our first meeting)."
Recalling the gala, she added: "When we were there, I sang a jazz song, 'Orange Coloured Sky.' Tony heard me sing it, and he asked to meet me after the show. And I said, 'Oh my gosh! Tony Bennett's here!'
"I fixed my hair, and my mom was fixing her makeup, and then we went back to meet him. He said, 'Do you want to do a jazz album together?' And I said, 'Yes, of course I do!' "

James Garner's death certificate has revealed he died of a massive heart attack.
The 86-year-old legendary actor passed away at his home in Los Angeles on July 19 from acute myocardial infarction.
The legal document also indicated the 'Rockford Files' star had been suffering from coronary artery disease for some time, according to gossip website TMZ.com.
A number of the late actor's former co-stars and colleagues paid tribute to him following his death.
Mark Gatiss, showrunner for 'Doctor Who' and 'Sherlock' described him as a "wonderful" man.
He wrote on Twitter: "Goodbye, Jim Rockford. The wonderful, amiable James Garner has gone. Had the honour of meeting him at the AFI twenty years ago. RIP"
Chat show host and journalist Piers Morgan echoed the sentiment.
He tweeted: "RIP James Garner - a wonderful actor. #GreatEscape #RockfordFiles #Maverick"
After making his film debut in 1956, James appeared in a huge range of movies and TV shows, including more recent projects like 2004's 'The Notebook' and US sitcom '8 Simple Rules', which he starred in for three years until 2005.
Law enforcement sources previously indicated he died from natural causes.

Freddie Prinze Jr. has been blasted by a former '24' star for calling Kiefer Sutherland "unprofessional."
Louis Lombardi, who co-starred on the series in 2005, has accused the 38-year-old actor of being "jealous" of the leading actor, 47, after Freddie recently claimed he almost quit acting completely because he "hated" working with Kiefer on the TV series in 2010.
The 46-year-old 'The Usual Suspects' actor said: "My experience with Kiefer was absolutely the opposite. He was one of the most professional actors I've ever worked with. He wanted the best out of everybody. I have nothing but great experiences with him. He's a gentleman."
He also told UsMagazine.com: "Maybe he [Freddie] was jealous, maybe Kiefer did something to him--who knows? But Kiefer's one of the most professional and most likable people! Kiefer is the most professional actor. I'm baffled about [that] kid's comments and baffled why he would say this years later! I'm all for Kiefer. I think he's a great dude and I have nothing but love for him. Everyone loves him, all the actors around him, the crew. Everyone!"
Kiefer previously insisted that he wished Freddie "the best" after his former co-star branded him "the most unprofessional dude."
A spokesperson for the star said: "Kiefer worked with Freddie Prinze Jr. more than five years ago, and this is the first he has heard of Freddie's grievances. Kiefer enjoyed working with Freddie and wishes him the best."
