Kylie Jenner wants to carve out a singing career.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star, who is rumoured to be dating 'After Earth' actor Jaden Smith, has started taking vocal lessons, as she wants to become the next Katy Perry.
A source close to the 17-year-old beauty told gossip website RadarOnline.com: "Kylie has found her calling in life -- to be a singer!
"Kylie is now working on her first single! She is telling everyone that she knows she is going to be the next Katy Perry."
The reality TV star and fashion designer is working with Jaden's sister Willow Smith's singing coach, Tim Carter, who is giving her private lessons at her mother Kris Jenner's house.
The source said: "She is in training right now with vocal coach and producer, Tim Carter. Kylie has a great voice."
Kylie hopes that her brother-in-law Kanye West, who is married to her older half-sister Kim Kardashian West, will assist her in the recording studio and also believes becoming a singer will help set her apart from her Kendall Jenner, 18, who has become a successful model.
The source said: "She realised that she can't compete with Kendall when it comes to modelling. So she has chosen to turn to music. The whole family is really supportive of the decision, and Tim has already been to Kris' house to start the lessons!"

Jenny McCarthy has already lost her wedding ring.
The 41-year-old star, who married New Kids on the Block singer Donnie Wahlberg on August 31, admits the ring went missing when she removed it to have sex in a hotel room.
She said: "I've already lost the ring. We were staying in a hotel and you can't have a wedding ring on... it's a little hard to get romantic with diamonds on your hand. I removed it and put it on the room service table and they came and turned down the room and the ring was gone... But you know what though? If you're gonna lose your wedding ring, you should lose it that way."
The blonde beauty, who has son Evan, 11, from her previous marriage to John Mallory Asher, was spotted showing her pal Carmen Electra the diamond ring in New York City last week.
An eyewitness previously said: "Carmen checked out Jenny's wedding ring, which Donnie had engraved with their initials. She said it was one of the most beautiful things she'd ever seen."
Meanwhile, Jenny insists there are no hard feelings after she was axed from 'The View' after one season earlier this year.
She told 'Good Day NY': "I got to work with Barbara Walters. One thing I missed was people coming up to me going, 'I miss you being you,' like I really couldn't, you know.' When I went over to Sirius Radio, they've given me a month spot to see if I liked it and it turned out to be a full-time gig and I start in October and the freedom to say what you want is wonderful."

The 'Baby' hitmaker rented out the Lucky Strike bowling alley in Los Angeles on Sunday night (14.09.14) for their pal Ryan Butler's intimate celebration, and couldn't keep his hands off the 'Come & Get It' singer at the party.

Beyoncé and Jay Z had a "special commitment ceremony" on her birthday.
The couple - whose marriage has been dogged by speculation it is on the rocks in recent months - reportedly decided to "wipe the slate clean" and reaffirmed their love for one another in an intimate ritual on a beach in Corsica on September 4 when the singer turned 33.
A source told the new UK issue of Grazia magazine: "Beyoncé's birthday felt like an appropriate time for them to wipe the slate clean and start their marriage all over again, so during their break they held a special commitment ceremony.
"They were joined on a private beach by Beyoncé's mum Tina, their daughter Blue Ivy and a small group of close friends and recited a new set of vows during a short but very romantic ceremony, which doubled up as a birthday celebration."
The ceremony - which was officiated by the couple's therapist - was then followed by a reception dinner before the couple jetted off on a "second honeymoon".
The source added: "The small wedding party celebrated with drinks and food made by the couple's private chef. Afterwards, they rented a luxury $500,000 a yacht to cruise around Italy, which they have been calling their second honeymoon.
"From now on, they intend to mark the day of the ceremony as their new wedding anniversary and have told friends they are focusing firmly on their future together."

Katie Price is "worried" about her newborn baby's eyesight.
The former glamour model is concerned her and Kieran Hayler's newborn daughter Bunny could have something wrong with her eyes even though the doctors have said the youngster's eyesight is "OK", due to her 12-year-old son Harvey being partially blind.
She said: "She's definitely got her hearing, and they think her eyes are OK. But I don't believe anything yet.
"It's the eyes, since Harvey, I'm always so worried about them.
"Even if they say they look OK, I don't believe it, and when I know she's old enough to start seeing I know I'll be waving my fingers to make sure there's recognition there."
But Bunny - who was born six weeks premature - doesn't appear to have any problems with her vocal chords as Katie admitted the six-week-old little one already "knows what she wants".
She joked to OK! magazine: "She's a nightmare. It's weird how little they can be but how they can get you round their little finger at such a young age.
"She cries and knows what she wants and she gets it. I think, let her cry for a bit, but then she cries louder and louder and it's so hard not to go over.
"So then I'll just start rocking her crib so she knows someone's there, but then you find yourself picking her up. Then she falls asleep like butter wouldn't melt."
Katie also has nine-year-old son Junior and seven-year-old daughter Princess Tiaamii from her failed marriage to Peter Andre and 13-month-old son Jett with her husband Kieran.

Joan Rivers' personal doctor took a selfie while the comedian was under anesthesia and the physician was set to perform an unauthorized biopsy, a report has claimed.
The incident allegedly occurred in Manhattan's Yorkville Endoscopy shortly befor Rivers, 81, underwent a procedure on her vocal chords that led to her suffering a cardiac arrest, CNN reports.
Investigators have been informed of the incident by a member of staff at the clinic, according to the broadcaster, which also claims that gastroenterologist Dr. Lawrence Cohen finished his work on the star shortly before before her unidentified personal physician performed the biopsy.
However, just before performing the procedure, it is claimed that the physician took out his camera to take a picture of himself alongside Rivers, who was unconscious at the time.
During the subsequent biopsy, Rivers suddenly went into cardiac arrest, with investigators believing that her vocal chords began to swell, thereby cutting off oxygen to her lungs.
Earlier this week, a voice recording emerged of Rivers complaining of trouble with her vocal chords.
She can be heard saying: "I told [you] I didn't feel good. My voice has been bothering me. I don't know what it is . . . I feel like s***. I'm tired already."
Later, she said: "That's it - I don't feel good."

John Travolta has dismissed gay sex claims made against him by former employee Douglas Gotterba.
Earlier this year, it was claimed by Gotterba that the Hollywood star had been romantically involved with his ex-pilot - but Travolta has hit back at the suggestion, saying there is no foundation to the rumour.
He told The Daily Beast: "This is every celebrity's Achilles heel.
"It's just about people wanting money. That's all. It happens on many levels."
Travolta added that he's grown used to rumours circulating about his personal life and he's now largely unaffected by such speculation.
The actor - who is married to Kelly Preston - explained: "Also, I don't care that much about it. Other people may attack it back more than I do, but I let all the media stuff go a long time ago because I can't control it.
"I think that's why it persists, to some degree."
However, Travolta, 60, did say that he is bothered when his family life is brought into the public spotlight.
He added: "Sex stuff is always going to be interesting to somebody, but you stay away from family."

Paris Hilton is looking for a New York home.
The Los Angeles-based socialite was shown round a number of penthouse apartments just a few hours after arriving into the city on Friday (12.09.14) as she is keen to spend more time in the Big Apple to be closer to her siblings Barron and Nicky.
A source close to Paris - who flew into New York for the launch of her sister's book '365 Style' - told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "Paris [is] looking at penthouse apartments downtown so she can be closer to her sister Nicky, who lives in New York, and her brother Barron, who also lives here."
The 33-year-old beauty hopes being in New York will enable her to do more in helping her younger sister plan her wedding to James Rothschild.
The source said: "Nicky is getting married soon, and so Paris really wants to be able to help her sister and be involved in the wedding plans. She also loves New York, having grown up in the city."
And Paris is unlikely to spare any expense in looking for her dream home as it was recently revealed she earns a staggering $347,000 an hour from her DJ gigs.
A source recently revealed of her four-day residency at Ibiza club Amnesia: "She's making $2.7 million from the four nights -- $347,000 an hour.
"The crowds do seem to enjoy it, but most are too off their faces to care that she's simply pressed Play on a Beyoncé megamix."

Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband found it "tough" being married to her.
Choreographer Cris Judd - who married the 45-year-old superstar in 2001 after a month-long engagement - admits he struggled with all the attention their two-year union and things only got easier when he learned to "embrace" the scrutiny.
He told Us Weekly magazine: "You know it's very tough. Your privacy is breached. You're no longer a normal person.
"[Our wedding] was a circus. I think several people got arrested trying to climb up a mountain... trying to sneak in. We actually rented the airspace.
"It was tough to be in that limelight. [But] you kind of sign up for that, you know?
"You kind of have to take it and accept it and embrace it. Once you stop fighting it, it smooths itself over. If you try to keep that privacy, it drives you nuts and that's why people break."
However, while he was "bothered" by the attention, Cris insists it wasn't being in the public eye that ended their marriage.
He added: "It had no bearing on the outcome of a relationship. Unfortunately, it just didn't work out."
And the dancer believes the 'On the Floor' hitmaker's subsequent relationships - including an engagement to Ben Affleck, marriage to Marc Anthony and a romance with Casper Smart - haven't worked out because she doesn't "work" enough on them.
He added: "She looks fantastic, that goes without a doubt. Anybody that would say she doesn't look great is lying.
"But you know, I can't give you the answer as to why her relationships don't work. I think that it's that it is work. It's whether you want to work on it or not. Everyone has baggage and problems. It's whether you want to deal with those problems. When you sign up to get married, you can't just walk away.
"I mean I'm remarried and we're going on five years. My wife Kelly and I have a daughter."
