Calvin Harris buys $15 million Beverly Hills home

Calvin Harris has bought a $15 million home.
The 30-year-old DJ has splashed out on a lavish 10-bedroom, 11-bathroom mansion, which is set in 2.66 acres in the exclusive Beverly Hills area in California, reports Variety.com.
The property also comes with a three-car garage, staff quarters, two guest houses, one of which comes complete with a spa, and a swimming pool.
Calvin's new million-pound purchase follows revelations that the singer raked in an estimated $110 million over 2013 and 2014.
Despite the property's hefty price tag, the 'We Are Not Alone' hitmaker will have had no problems affording the property as he was recently named the highest paid DJ in the world after earning $66 million in 12 months.
The Scot scooped the title for the second consecutive year after topping Forbes' Electronic Cash Kings list with his huge earnings, $20 million more than he earned to reach the summit last year.
Putting his success partly down to luck, the modest music mixer told Forbes: "The rise of dance music has been astronomical in the last three years. I happened to be in the right place at the right time."

Denzel Washington asks fans to send him underwear

Denzel Washington has asked fans to send him pairs of pants.
The 59-year-old actor made the bizarre request after embarking on a European press trip to promote his new movie 'The Equalizer' without packing any clean underwear.
Speaking to Rickie, Melvin and Charlie on the Kiss FM Breakfast Show, he explained: "Everything I've got on is free but I did pay for my underwear and they were too expensive. It's true. It was 32 Euros, man. I came on this trip and I forgot my underwear.
"Seriously, we were in Paris and I'm like, 'Oh shoot! I don't have any underwear'. Please send in free underwear for Denzel Washington."
The 'American Gangster' star also revealed that although he was in the French capital at the same time as Beyonce and husband Jay Z's joint 'On The Run' tour concert, he couldn't get in to see the show because he hadn't bought a ticket.
Before doing an uncanny impression of Jay's trademark chuckle, he said: "I was there when they were there but I didn't go see it. I couldn't get in, I didn't have tickets."

Kanye West doesn’t care about awards

Kanye West "doesn't care" about his Grammy Awards.
The 'Yeezus' rapper - who has picked up 21 of the coveted trophies - told students at Los Angeles Trade Technical College during a guest talk on Friday (19.09.14) that he uses the prizes as "reference points" to "prove" his talents and also spoke of his frustration at not being taken seriously in the fashion industry.
Visual Communications student Andre Pitts told Complex: "He said that he doesn't care about his Grammys but he thinks of them as reference points.
"And that he can point back to them and say, 'I've proven that I can do this, so I should be able to do this.' So that's what he was trying to get out, that he feels that he is able to do these things but that he's being shot down by the fashion industry."
And during a question and answer session with the students, Kanye - who has 15-month-old daughter North with wife Kim Kardashian West - admitted he still thinks of himself as "the best artist" and prefers his own music to other people's.
Andre said: "Someone asked if he listens to his own music, or if he listens to other people's music. He said he likes to listen to his own music since he thinks he's the best artist, still."
The visit was at least Kanye's fourth time speaking to Los Angeles students, and it forms part of his 240-hour community service sentence which was handed out when he struck a plea deal over allegedly attacking a photographer last summer.

The 'Twilight Saga' star became "instant friends" with the singer - whose real name is Tahliah Barnett - and romance quickly blossomed, with friends saying he is as serious about her as he was former girlfriend Kristen Stewart, who he dated for five years until last summer.
A source told HollywoodLife.com: "Rob is falling hard for Tahliah. He's just enamoured with her beauty, creativity and confidence. He hasn't felt this way about someone since Kristen.
"This is his girl and Rob is beyond proud to show her off. They became instant friends at first and it blossomed into a romance. He's really taken with her and not afraid to show it."
The 28-year-old actor has already introduced the 26-year-old musician to his friends in Los Angeles and is enjoying showing her the sights of the city.
The source added: "He's helping her get adjusted to LA life and has been really supportive of her - showing her around, introducing her to his friends. I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up on the set of her music video, which she is filming in town this week."

Mel C bans daughter from watching explicit music videos

Mel C won't allow her daughter to watch explicit music videos.
The 40-year-old former Spice Girls singer - who has five-year-old Scarlet with ex-partner Thomas Starr - wants to "protect" her little girl, and though she allows the youngster to listen to Rihanna's music, she won't let her see her "sexual" promos.
Mel told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "My girl Scarlet is a big fan of Rihanna, but I won't let her watch the videos - they're too sexual.
"I protect my daughter from it while I can, but she's growing up fast."
In the 1990s, Mel and her fellow band members, Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton, championed the term "girl power" to promote female empowerment amongst their legions of fans.
However, the 'Wannabe' hitmaker believes that things have changed since then and some of today's female pop stars, like Rihanna, are encouraging women to be objectified.
Mel explained: "For me it's almost like what we did with girl power has gone too far the other way, which defeats the object.
"I appreciate that it's a different generation now, but I don't consider that empowering."
Meanwhile, Mel has previously slammed young female pop stars for not taking their younger fans into consideration when revealing things in interviews or taking part in more risque photoshoots.
Mel said: "It's a long time ago since the Spice Girls were first together and we were criticised for being sexual.
"Yes, we wore crop tops, I mean look how much has changed. We always sat down as a group, be it photoshoots, videos, interviews, and if somebody felt something was inappropriate for our young fans, we did something about it.
"I think that's something young people in the music industry today, like Rihanna, should do now."
