Adam Levine asked Behati Prinsloo's father for permission to propose to her.
The Maroon 5 frontman asked the Victoria's Secret beauty to marry him in July 2013, and though the 25-year-old model admits his proposal was "very simple", it was exactly what she wanted.
Asked the most romantic thing Adam had ever done, she said: "I think proposing.
"It was very simple, there was nothing crazy. It was the way that I wanted it. He called my dad. It was very nice."
Behati also revealed she and the 35-year-old singer - who she married this July - spent months getting to know one another via email before meeting in person, but their first face-to-face encounter was still "awkward".
Speaking to 'Access Hollywood', she recalled: "We kind of started talking over email, back and forth for months. I was kind of making fun of him...We talked over email for such a long time and then went to LA and we met for the first time.
"When we met finally, face to face, he was shooting the boxing music video, 'One More Night,' I think it was, so he had gloves on.
"And I walked through the door and was like, 'What am I doing here?' And he had his gloves on and was like, ' This is awkward, hi!'"

Avril Lavigne is reportedly experiencing "health issues".
The 'Complicated' singer - who is married to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger - hasn't been seen in public since September and has apparently told a Twitter fan that she is unwell with an undisclosed problem.
In a direct message to AvrilMusicChart, she wrote on Sunday (07.12.14): "I feel bad because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them no why I've been absent.
"I'm not feeling well. I'm having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers. (sic)"
Though Avril hasn't commented on her problems or confirmed the legitimacy of the messages, she publicly responded to the Twitter account after they sent well wishes, writing simply: "thank you."
The 'Girlfriend' hitmaker's health woes come a few months after speculation her marriage to Chad - who she married in July 2013 - was in trouble.
However, the 'This Is How You Remind Me' rocker later laughed off the reports, which were fuelled when he missed Avril's 30th birthday party, but admitted even his family had worried about the status of their relationship.
The 39-year-old rocker said: "You know my dad calls me up and he's just like, 'I haven't slept in two days, what's going on?' I'm like, 'Dad you're not buying all this c**p are you?' You know, I get to hear all the rumour mill stuff. So it's, it's...I find it very amusing."

Robbie Williams is quitting music to become a mechanic.
The 40-year-old singer - who has daughter Theodora, two, and son Charlton, six weeks, with his wife Ayda Field - has claimed he will give up his pop career in favour of a "proper job" because he has grown tired of making music after almost 25 years.
He said: "To be quite honest with you I'm getting a little bit bored of the pop star / rock star thing. I've been very, very lucky, I've had an amazing career, but I want to do something different."
The 'Rock DJ' hitmaker released his eleventh studio album 'Under the Radar Volume 1' last week - at the same time as his former band Take That debuted at number one in the UK album chart with 'III' - but the record was ineligible to chart because it was released through his website.
Despite selling an estimated 140,000 copies of his record, the star suggested he would like to leave his career behind and move to Germany for his new job because he doesn't think being a musician is appropriate for a father.
Speaking in a YouTube video on his official channel, he explained: "I love you Germany; always have and I always will. I want to do something different that involves living with you and in you. For the first time in my life I want a job job, a proper job. I'm a daddy now and I feel as though it's only right that I have one."
The 'Candy' crooner revealed he also considered becoming a professional soccer player when thinking of a new profession, but decided working with cars would be the best role for him so urged German mechanics to get in touch.
He added: "And I've been thinking about my options about what my job job could be and I thought soccer in Germany maybe, and then no I'm too old ...and then I thought to myself, Germany's got amazing cars. Give me a call."

Johnny Depp has purchased a nude portrait of Britain's Duchess of Cambridge.
The 51-year-old actor forked out a five figure sum for the work by street artist Pegasus and commissioned him to create another of 32-year-old Catherine- who is currently pregnant with her second child with Prince William - in the buff with her baby bump on display.
The second portrait, entitled 'crowned' will feature the brunette beauty -who was known as Kate Middleton before her marriage - with nothing but a crown placed on her growing tummy.
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star also spent £25,000 on a portrait of Queen Elizabeth as he visited the opening of the artist's gallery in Islington, north London on Sunday (07.12.14)
The Hollywood legend - who is engaged to Amber Heard and has children Lily-Rose, 15, and Jack, 12, with former partner Vanessa Paradis - is said to be a huge fan of Pegasus and "immediately" snapped up the works.
Leonard Villa, the artist's manager, told the Metro newspaper: "I knew Johnny was coming and wanted the two Kate Middleton works.
"I didn't even tell my wife and daughters, but I was expecting him. He was extremely charming and immediately bought the painting and put down an offer for the second one.
"Everything at the opening of Pegasus' gallery sold within 15 minutes.
"He can't fulfil his orders fast enough at the moment."
Meanwhile, Catherine - who has 16-month-old son Prince George with the second-in-line to the throne - is due to give birth in April next year.

Joaquin Phoenix is engaged.
The 40-year-old actor proposed to his yoga instructor girlfriend, after she made him perform a complicated yoga move during a gym session.
The 'Her' star revealed the news during his interview segment on 'The Late Show With David Letterman' last night (08.12.14) and he even got down on the ground to demonstrate his new found flexibility.
He shared: "We go out and at first we do these breathing exercises and I go, 'I can do this. It's pretty good.' And then she says, 'We are going to get into this first position, harnessing of the hog.' The harnessing of the hog, they have all these weird animal names.
"Before I can say, 'Who's the hog?' She grabs me."
Joaquin then proceeded to contort his body into an unusual shape as he shouted out to host David Letterman: "It's a compromising and vulnerable position.
"She gets a strap and puts it around my shoulder and she pulls me up.She's pulling and thrusting me and I go, 'Oh no stop, my back is in pain.' And she goes, 'No. Emotional back pain.'"
The three-time Academy Award nominated actor then dropped the bombshell as he revealed how he had proposed to the mysterious gym girl after their encounter.
He said: "This is the crazy part of the story ... we started dating. And I think she's the one. I proposed to her and she said yes!
"I don't know what that says about me. Nothing good, right?"

Christian Bale didn't mean to "disrespect" George Clooney with his paparazzi comments.
The 'Exodus: Gods and Kings' star had previously criticised George, 53, in WSJ magazine for supposedly "whining" about the attention he receives when he goes out in public.
Christian said: "It doesn't matter that he talks about it. It's like, 'Come on, guys, just shut up. Just get on with it and live your lives and stop whining about it.' I prefer not to whine about it."
However, the 40-year-old actor has since apologized to his fellow thespian as he admitted how their lives don't "even begin to compare".
Christian told E! News: "I never meant any disrespect whatsoever.
"I've got immense respect for him and I can't even begin to imagine the invasion of his privacy. Our lives don't even begin to compare. He's a true movie star. I'm just somebody who was lucky to get a job."
Christian had originally explained how he is frustrated by the rude comments he receives when he is out with his wife Sibi Blazic, 44, stating that they are "killing his humanity and dignity".
Recalling a trip to Italy - where George married his lawyer wife Amal Alamuddin, 36, in September 2014 - Christian told WSJ magazine: I was in Italy with my wife. I would go to work; she would leave the hotel.
"There would be a man who stood outside ... and say the most obscene things imaginable to my wife ...
"He's killing my humanity and my dignity as a husband if I do not, and he knows this. So you've got a choice."

Selena Gomez is "disappointed" in Justin Bieber.
The 'Come And Get It' hitmaker - who recently split from the 20-year-old singer - is reportedly hurt by his close relationship with Hailey Baldwin.
A source revealed to HollywoodLife.com: "Selena hasn't spoken to Justin for some time now and is just disappointed that he flaunts his relationship with Hailey.
"Even if they aren't dating, she takes it as a dig. She knows him all too well."
The 18-year-old model - who is the niece of Hollywood star Alec Baldwin - recently confirmed that the pair were just friends.
She said: "I've known him since I was so young - since I was like 13 - and we've just been good friends over the years.
"We have just stayed close and there's nothing more to it than that."
Meanwhile, Justin's split from Selena, 22, has reportedly made him "depressed".
A source previously revealed: "Justin has been really depressed. Nothing he's doing so far to get Selena back is working and it's put him in a really dark place.
"He went to New York for a change of scene to try and find new perspective; he's hoping Selena will come and meet up with him."

Chris Pratt "prayed" his son would survive.
The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star - who has two-year-old Jack with Anna Faris - admitted that he feared the worst when his son was born nine weeks premature.
He said: "He was three pounds, 12 ounces. Anna got to hold him for a moment and then it was off to the NICU - the neonatal intensive care unit ...
"He had jaundice, so they put a blindfold on him and he slept beneath [a] creepy light and he had a PICC line, which is an IV that runs up his arm into his heart. He had a feeding tube and just wires in and out, and he lived in that incubator. That was his first crib."
The 35-year-old actor - who was warned by doctors that Jack may have special needs and need surgery to correct his sight - explained how much "love" he felt for his child.
Speaking to reporters at a charity event, Us Weekly details Chris as saying: "The only people allowed to touch him were his mom and me, unless you were wearing gloves.
"We did this amazing thing they call 'skin-to-skin' -- it was just the best feeling I ever had. It's just what it sounds like.
"My little boy was laying across my neck and chest feeling my heartbeat and feeling my love, and I played him country music and I sang to him and I made him promises... in that moment... you know, about... just about what kind of dad I wanted to be, and I just prayed that he'd be here long enough and he was going to let me keep him."

Kris Jenner has themed Christmas celebrations.
The 59-year-old businesswoman - who will spend the holidays with her six children - is looking forward to keeping up with the usual traditions.
She said: "Every year, we try to have a theme. And a very important element to any time I give a party of any kind is a party favour ...
"I want the traditional Christmas/Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey, stuffing, gravy, sweet potato, soufflé that I'll make. I love to do the desserts so I want to pass that down to my kids and have them incorporate that into their family and their traditions when I'm long gone."
The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star has enlisted the help of celebrity florist, Jeff Leatham.

"Make the kitchen really Christmassy ... I love to bake at Christmas time so this needs to smell like gingerbread.
"This is the bar; it's definitely the hang out for the holidays."
Kris also instructed Jeff to help her four eldest daughters to decorate their own homes.
She said: "I also want you to talk to the girls about doing something at their house."
