Charlie Sheen's 'Anger Management' has been axed.
The 49-year-old actor and his co-stars and crew members were told the news on Friday (19.12.14) and it has now been made public, just hours before the 100th episode and series finale of the show - which was commissioned for an initial 10 episodes in 2012 and automatically had another 90 ordered after hitting a ratings requirement for FX - airs in the US tonight (22.12.14).
Despite the career blow, Charlie - who has a grown up daughter Cassandra from a relationship with Paula Profit, daughters Sam, 10, and Lola, nine, with second wife Denise Richards, and twin sons Bob and Max, five, with third spouse Brooke Mueller - has issued a gracious statement in which he spoke of his "pride" in the show's run.
He told RadarOnline.com: "I am beyond proud of what we accomplished over the course of 100 episodes of 'Anger Management'.
"We created something uniquely special with some of the most talented individuals I have ever had the privilege to work with. My sincere thanks to all for their unwavering love and support. Here's to the next chapter."
Charlie can next be seen in a cameo role in 'The Goldbergs', but in the immediate future is looking forward to a family Christmas.
His publicist said: "Charlie is planning on spending the holidays with his family, children and friends and looks forward to what 2015 has to offer."

Miranda Kerr has been given a $100,000 Christmas gift from James Packer.
The former Victoria's Secret Model - who has been romantically linked with the billionaire over the last year, despite repeatedly insisting she is single - was given a pair of stunning diamond earrings by the Australian tycoon around a month ago.
A source said: "He bought them for her about four weeks ago.
"They're amazing earrings - the sort of Christmas baubles every girl wants!"
Though the 31-year-old beauty - who split from Orlando Bloom in 2013 after three years of marriage - recently insisted she is "single, very single and really happy to be single", friends claim she and James are still dating casually.
A source told Australia's Woman's Day magazine: "They still see each other when they're in the same country but also see other people."
Perhaps Miranda received her gift early to avoid awkwardness with her former spouse as the 'Lord of the Rings' star recently revealed they are spending Christmas together for the sake of their three-year-old son Flynn.
Orlando said: "He's four in January. So his mom is really close, which is great. So we'll be able to do Christmas together.
"Her family, my family. We'll all kind of come together."

Lindsay Lohan is in a "really good place".
The troubled actress - who has been in rehab six times - recently completed a 10-week stint in London stage production 'Speed-the-Plow' and her family say the hard work has helped her get back on track.
Her sister Aliana said: "She's in a really good place. You have to just find yourself, everyone has. She knows who she is."
Her mother, Dina, added: "Lindsay's an amazing actor, and she's lost without her craft."
Dina was particularly proud of the work ethic the 28-year-old star showed when working on the play.
She told the New York Daily News newspaper's Confidenti@l column: "She had eight shows a week; it was a 10-week run. She never missed one. They don't write that in the Daily News: She never missed a day."
Though the 'Mean Girls' star recently voiced her intention never to live in Los Angeles again, her mother insists Lindsay still loves the city, but hates the attention she gets there.
She said: "Lindsay loves New York, loves LA, but it's just been a memory for her that wasn't good: when the press, when the paparazzi started.
"t all started with the weekly tabloids when Lindsay and the Simpsons [sisters Jessica and Ashlee] and Paris [Hilton], they all were targeted."

Eddie Redmayne had "nine months of sleepless nights" while shooting 'The Theory of Everything'.
The 32-year-old actor was so concerned about what Stephen Hawking, who he plays in the film, would think of his portrayal that he struggled to get off to sleep every evening after filming as he was too busy worrying whether or not the physicist would like the motion picture or not.
When asked how scared he was when he was making the movie, he said: "Terrified. I'd met Stephen and he was never going to say, 'I'm thrilled you're doing this, you're going to be amazing.'
"It was nine months of sleepless nights, thinking, 'Will he like it?' "
But Eddie needn't have worried too much as when Stephen - who was diagnosed with motor neuron disease aged 21 - watched the film he told director James Marsh he thought he was watching himself in some parts of the movie.
Eddie said: "That was the greatest review ever. I want to retire."
But the star didn't get quite the response he wanted on his first meeting with the 72-year-old author - who communicates with the aid of a computer and speech synthesiser - as he admitted the rendezvous was "embarrassing" because he didn't know what to say to him and ended up talking about astrology.
He added to Time Out magazine: "I filled the room with hot air - I struggle with silence.
"The most random thing I said was so bad. He was born on January 8, 300 years to the day after Galileo, and I said, 'It's funny because I was born on January 6, so we're both Capricorns.'
"He looked at me and then he spent a few minutes typing.
"This was the second thing he said to me, in his iconic voice, 'I'm an astronomer, not an astrologer.' Which is hilarious but excruciating - he's not Mystic Meg!"

Adele sent a hand-written note to Sir Elton John to apologise for missing his wedding.
The 26-year-old singer penned the note from her, her partner Simon Konecki and their two-year-old son Angelo, to say sorry for not making it to the music legend's marriage to longtime partner David Furnish yesterday (21.12.14) in Windsor, south east England, and to wish the couple good luck on their big day.
She wrote: "Biggest congratulations my loves. Have a wonderful day. I'm sorry we are not there. See you in 2015. Love Adele, Simon and Angelo. x. (sic)"
Elton posted a picture of the letter - which Adele penned on headed note paper from floral designer Rob Van Helden, who also attended the nuptials - on his Instagram account alongside several other congratulatory cards sent to the couple.
He added the caption: "The perfect end to the perfect day. So many kind thoughts and wishes. #ShareTheLove (sic)"
The image was one of 11 Elton posted on his newly-created social networking account on which he shared memorable pictures of his and David's wedding day with their fans.
Other photographs included one of the pair's wedding menu which featured wild mushroom soup with truffle cream to start, followed by a beef rib and caramelised onion pie and then a warm chocolate pudding with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Elton also posted an adorable image of the couple's sons', Zachary, three, and 23-month-old Elijah, shiny, polished shoes in front of a roaring fire the night before the wedding, where they acted as ring bearers for their parents.
The 'Your Song' hitmaker added the caption: "Our little ring bearers are fast asleep, and their shoes are polished and ready for tomorrow's celebration.@DavidFurnish #ShareTheLove (sic)"
While Adele didn't make the spectacle, several other stars had some festive fun at the bash including David and Victoria Beckham and their four children, Brooklyn, 15, Romeo, 12, Cruz, nine, and Harper, three, as well as Ed Sheeran, David Walliams and his wife Lara Stone, and Elizabeth Hurley and her 12-year-old son Damian.

Ed Sheeran and David Beckham were among the stars who attended Sir Elton John's wedding yesterday (21.12.14).
The 67-year-old singer officially wed his partner of over 20 years at their Windsor estate in south east England, and invited a flurry of stars to celebrate their big day.
Former footballer David was joined by his wife Victoria Beckham and their four children, Brooklyn, 15, Romeo, 12, Cruz, nine, and Harper, three, at the bash to celebrate the nuptials of their close friends, who are godparents to their two eldest children.
'Thinking Out Loud' hitmaker Ed was spotted posing for a photo with the groom, 52-year-old David Furnish, in an image posted on Instagram, as did comedian Jimmy Carr, actor Hugh Grant, singer Lulu, actress Elizabeth Hurley and comedian David Walliams, who was joined by his wife, Lara Stone.
The ceremony - which took place on the ninth anniversary of their civil partnership - was celebrated online with the 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' singer joining image-sharing social network Instagram especially to post pictures from the occasion.
Earlier in the day, the couple confirmed they had officially wed by posting a photo of themselves signing the legal forms, alongside which Elton wrote: "That's the legal bit done. Now on to the ceremony! #ShareTheLove @DavidFurnish (sic)."
The ceremony itself took place next to a Damien Hirst alter, and featured their two sons, Zachary, three, and 23-month-old Elijah as the ring bearers, who had the gold bands attached to cuddly rabbit toys which they carried up the aisle.
Following the nuptials, guests enjoyed a lavish three-course meal of wild mushroom soup, beef and onion pie and warm chocolate pudding, before the newlyweds cut a personalised wedding cake for their friends to enjoy.
The newlyweds have championed the idea for same-sex couples to be allowed to marry in the UK for many years, with legislation allowing it eventually coming into force in March.

Angelina Jolie admits family life "can be hard work".
The 'Unbroken' filmmaker - who raises children Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, eight, and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne with husband Brad Pitt - and her spouse do their best to always put their personal lives ahead of their careers so as not to "strain" their relationship.
She said: "[Brad and I] work really hard at nurturing our family to make sure that everybody is alright and everyone stays connected.
"Maintaining a marriage and raising kids is hard work. You have to really make sure that your work doesn't get in the way. That you don't do something that is going to put too much strain on your family."

Nicki Minaj wants a man who appreciates how hard she works.
The 'Anaconda' hitmaker - who recently split from boyfriend Safaree Samuels - wants to be with someone who understands the effort she needs to put into her career.
She said: "I want someone to appreciate how hard I work."
The 32-year-old rapper went on to suggest her relationship with Safaree ended after 12 years because she was a "workaholic" and he needed more attention than she could provide.
Speaking at the 'CRWN: A Conversation with Elliott Wilson and Nicki Minaj' event, she said: '"I lost a big part of my life, and one of the reasons was because I was a workaholic. I couldn't focus on anyone else.
"Maybe they needed more attention, and I take care of my whole family. So if I'm gonna choose between working my ass off and giving you, one human being, all of my attention? You might get forgotten sometimes. Not because I don't love you, but because I got the weight of the f***ing world on my shoulders."'
The 'Bed of Lies' singer recently took to Twitter to blast her former partner as an "ungrateful evil soul".
She wrote: "Anything you don't appreciate will be taken. God sees your ungrateful evil soul. I gave and gave and gave. Threatening me? Blackmail? Jump.
"Let me be happy now. God.
"I'm sorry. My fans know this isn't me.
"Hate this. But I'm human. I do so much. Too much. No man would have stayed loyal in this game like me. (sic)"
However, Safaree hit back, insisting he's been busy promoting his music instead of blasting his ex-girlfriend.
He wrote: "im doing interviews about my s**t and s**t im promoting.. not 1 thing said im doing interviews about nicki. yall sound ridiculous (sic).
"and speaking to some1 about pub and splits isnt blackmail. stop looking for pitty.. u handle your buisness why cant i ? and its not Bout fame its about respect and youve had 0 for me the pass few years.the 0 respect u had for me at home had nothing 2do w/music.

David and Victoria Beckham are to take their children to meet Santa Claus.
The showbiz power couple will embark on a traditional trip to top London department store Harrods with their four kids, Brooklyn, 15, Romeo, 12, Cruz, nine, and three-year-old Harper, and always insist on visiting the same Father Christmas as the year before to ensure the little ones don't get suspicious.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Victoria always arranges with Harrods that the same Santa meets their children.
"They wanted to keep the experience as magical as possible.
"Pictures of the family with Santa look identical so as not to arouse suspicion."
But meeting Santa is not the only festive treat the famous family have had this Christmas as they were recently said to have been invited to a £7.99 Christmas dinner by 39-year-old David's older sister Lynne and her partner Kevin Briggs.
The pair booked up a table at their local Wetherspoons pub The Half Moon in Stepney, east London, for a family get-together which Kevin - who has previously spent time in prison for the harassment of his former girlfriend - organised by texting his relatives.
The message reportedly read: "Spoons xmas meal in a few weeks. Let us know if you're in. We'll do a fiver [£5] max secret santa."
He later added: "Sorry, with inflation we're making it £6."
