Amy Poehler named Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year

Amy Poehler has been named 2015 Woman of the Year by Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatricals.
The student group are bestowing their prestigious honour onto the 'Parks and Recreation' star because her comedy
"fits so well with the Pudding's own tradition of satire and social commentary."
Hasty Pudding Theatricals president Jason Hellerstein also said: "We are extremely excited to announce Amy Poehler as our 2015 Woman of the Year. She is an accomplished performer, incredible comedian, and an inspiration to everyone in the Hasty Pudding.
"We look forward to welcoming Ms. Poehler and celebrating and honouring her achievements in a truly unique and memorable way."
To celebrate the honour, Amy will lead a parade through Harvard Square on January 29 before being the subject of a roast.
The Man of the Year will be announced at a later date.
Last year, the titles were bestowed on Dame Helen Mirren and Neil Patrick Harris, while previous winners include Anne Hathaway, Halle Berry, Claire Danes, Charlize Theron, Kiefer Sutherland, Justin Timberlake, James Franco and Jay Leno.
Amy, 43, previously visited Harvard in 2011 when she offered advice as Class Day speaker the day before graduation.

Blake Lively: Life hasn’t changed

Blake Lively doesn't think having a child is a "massive change".
The 27-year-old actress and husband Ryan Reynolds welcomed their first child - believed to be a daughter named Violet - into the world last month and says being a parent comes naturally.
She said: "I always felt like a mama...
"I don't feel like it's a massive change."
While things may not have changed much, the former 'Gossip Girl' star admits she is happier than she has ever been.
She said: "This is the happiest time in my life, and I could say that every day. I often feel like, 'I can't believe I'm experiencing this.' "
While Blake wants to enjoy her time with her new baby, she is already thinking ahead to having more children.
She said: "I do want to just enjoy this moment. But I also feel like my first child is going to be the oldest sibling to the next kid, and that may change with each and every year.
"I'm looking forward to how one baby influences the other, and to my family as a whole, to every single chapter."
As well as wanting to grow her family, Blake - who married 38-year-old Ryan in 2012 - is already making plans to expand her lifestyle website Preserve and credits her parents and siblings for the inspiration behind the brand.
She said: "So much of the inspiration came from my mom and my dad and my siblings.
"All the things I feel like I'm good at are thanks to my family, and they're things we're now embracing at Preserve: cooking, decorating, artistry. Family is at the heart of everything I do."

Meryl Streep: Age shouldn’t be horrifying or scary

Meryl Streep believes women are demonised for growing old.
The 65-year-old actress claims she turned down a number of parts in which she was asked to play a witch when she was in her 40s because she doesn't like the idea of women being portrayed as "horrifying" for growing older.
Quizzed on why she'd agreed to play a witch in 'Into the Woods' at a press conference for the film at the Corinthia London hotel, she said: "Because I felt it was age appropriate, I thought it was the right time. I didn't think it was the right time at 40.
"Also, I just had a political sort of reaction against the concept of witches ... Of older women being demonised and age being this horrifying, scary thing.
"I just didn't go for that. I didn't like it when I was a little girl and I don't like it now."
The 'Devil Wears Prada' star is transformed from a crooked, vindictive hag of a witch into a stunning bombshell when a spell is lifted in the film but she's confessed she felt more comfortable looking haggard.
She shared: "I actually preferred it before the transformation, interestingly. The one who transforms had a lot of make up."
'Into The Woods' is set for release worldwide later this week.

Cameron Diaz ‘really wants’ kids

Cameron Diaz "really wants" a baby.
The 42-year-old actress is said to have informed her new husband Benji Madden - who she tied the knot with on Monday (05.01.15) at her home in Beverly Hills, California - that she is keen to start a family so he thought it best to get married to the blonde beauty before they start having kids.
A source told E!: "She told Benji she really wants a baby. And he said, 'Well, marry me.' He's old-fashioned ... Marriage was important to him."
The 35-year-old rocker - who previously dated Paris Hilton and Sophie Monk - also recently hinted he is keen to start a family by admitting kids are "what every man wants, whether they admit it or not".
Last year, Cameron - who has dated several hunks in the past including Jared Leto, Justin Timberlake and Matt Dillon - admitted when she decides she wants kids she will get them whether that means adopting or having them with a partner.
She said: "If I wanted kids, at any point in life, I would have them. But I'm certain that if at any point I wanted a child, that child would find its way into my life, whether through adoption, or through being in a relationship with somebody who has a child.
"I can't see the future, but one thing I do know is that I'm not childless. I have a ton of children in my life. I can have a kid any second, if I want. All my friends would be like, 'Sure, come and get them.' "

Jimmy Fallon blew chance to date Nicole Kidman

Jimmy Fallon blew his chance to date Nicole Kidman years ago because she found him boring during a visit to his apartment which left her thinking he might be gay.
The 40-year-old TV presenter was left shocked on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' on Tuesday night (06.01.15) when the actress - who has daughters Sunday, six, and four-year-old Faith with husband Keith Urban - recalled a story of when she fancied him and managed to get an invite to his flat, but was ultimately left disappointed.
While Jimmy - who also has two children with his wife Nancy Juvonen - was halfway through recounting his side of events he admitted he couldn't remember exactly where he was working at the time and Nicole then interjected by saying: "I just remember I liked you."
She then assured Jimmy "not now, I'm married now," and returned to the story by adding: "Not in that way," amid laughter and cheering from the studio audience.
A stunned Jimmy then said: "Wait ... what? Wait, what?"
Nicole struggled to reply as she was laughing so much before saying: "So, Rick, our mutual friend said Jimmy wants to meet you, you can go over to his apartment. I was single so I'm like, 'OK, yeah cool.' "
Jimmy said: "Wait. What? What are you talking about? Did I date Nicole Kidman? Did we go on a date?"
She added: "So I go along and you're there in a baseball cap and, like, nothing. And you didn't talk, you wouldn't say anything. You were like, 'Hey, um, um, um.' And I'm like, 'OK, so...'
"And then you put a video game on or something, and I'm like 'This is so bad.' "
Jimmy then collapsed off his chair in hysterics, unable to believe he had blown his chance with Nicole, while she couldn't stop laughing and turned to the audience and added: "It was bad!"
She continued: "I swear after about an hour and a half you didn't talk at all so I thought, 'He has no interest, this is embarrassing.' I kinda left and went, 'OK, no chemistry. Or maybe he's gay?'
Jimmy said: "Oh my God, I had no clue.
"I'm in shock right now. I can't believe I dated Nicole Kidman. This is unbelievable.
"But wow did you make a good decision. You made a fantastic decision. Keith Urban is so much cooler than I am."
And he couldn't resist a final joke about the "very embarrassing" situation, adding: "But he's always on tour ... I'm not always on tour."
Earlier in the show Jimmy started explaining his version of the story in which he revealed a mutual friend of the pair called Rick had phoned him up and told him to go and buy some cheese and crackers because he was bringing Nicole round to his apartment in 10 minutes.
He added: "I'm like, 'Cheese and crackers? I don't have dinner parties, I have video games and sneekers.'
"He said to get brie and I didn't even know what that was."

Beth Ditto legally weds

Beth Ditto got married on New Year's Eve (31.12.14).
The Gossip singer and partner Kristin Ogata officially tied the knot in their home state of Oregon last week, 17 months after affirming their union in a non-legally binding ceremony in Maui, Hawaii in July 2013.
Beth posted on Facebook earlier this week: "Legally married finally, a year later!
"Thanks everyone who fought to make gay marriage legal in Oregon! In 2015, the whole US!"
Her spokesperson added to gossip blogger Perez Hilton: "Since gay marriage just recently became legal in Oregon, they got legally married on Dec 31st."
While details of the wedding have not been given, in her 2013 ceremony, Beth donned a Jean Paul Gaultier gown with a low-cut bodice and tulle skirt and a veil to walk down the aisle barefoot on the arm of Kristin.
Her partner donned a three-piece suit of jacket, shirt and shorts for the occasion.
The couple knew each other for several years before they became an item because Kristen worked as the 'Standing in the Way of Control' singer's assistant.
Although Beth had developed strong feelings for Kristen she waited until her nine-year relationship with transgender Freddie Fagula ended in January 2010 before embarking on a romance with Kristen.
She previously said: "It was something that I kept hidden deep inside of me. But everyone knew. Even people are parties and clubs would be like, 'When are they going to get together?' There was always a little guilt inside of me because I felt I was cheating, but I never cheated. We never did anything ... I dated Freddie for nine years, and I was always worried it was going to end. With Kristen I never worry about it ending, I just feel completely full and whole."

Kevin Hart not involved in wedding plans

Kevin Hart want "nothing" to do with planning his wedding.
The 'Wedding Ringer' actor got engaged to Eniko Parrish in August and is happy for her to arrange every aspect of their big day.
He said: "I want nothing to do with the planning. I want nothing to do with it!"
"The reason I'm stepping out of the way? I don't want to be a part of the problem! It's your day, honey. Be happy."
However, the 35-year-old actor admitted there could be truth in rumours he planned to wear a tuxedo that cost more than his bride's dress, but insisted that doesn't make him a "groomzilla".
He told 'Entertainment Tonight': "That's a possibility. But that doesn't make me a groomzilla! That just makes me a man that loves fashion."
Kevin announced he had proposed to Eniko on her 30th birthday on his Instagram account.
He used the social media site to post a picture of himself standing in front of his longtime girlfriend, who was proudly displaying an engagement ring with a huge smile on her face.
He captioned the photograph: "She said YEEEEESSSSS...... #Happy #MyRib #iF**kingLoveHer (sic)"
Shortly before announcing their engagement, Kevin - who has been dating Eniko for five years - posted a throwback picture of the pair alongside a heartfelt happy birthday message in which he declared his love for her and joked she is "old as s**t".
He wrote: "Happy Birthday to the most amazing woman in the world. Today is your day babe & we are going to party like it's 1999....I love you so much. I'm a better man because of you. P.S your old as s**t now lmao #Dirty30 #HappyBday #ThrowBackPic (sic)"

Meryl Streep has ‘the biggest crush’ on Will Ferrell

Meryl Streep has "the biggest crush" on Will Ferrell.
The 'Mamma Mia' actress - who married sculptor Don Gummer in 1978 - has developed a soft spot for the 'Anchorman' star, 47, after watching his comedies and even prefers him to 34-year-old Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Gosling, who she claims is too young for her.
She told W magazine: "The movie that makes me cry is 'Anchorman'. I have the biggest crush on Will Ferrell. I love him in every film he does.
"I mean, Ryan Gosling could be my child. I'm not going to have a crush on a child. Will Ferrell is a man."
The 65-year-old Oscar-winner - whose latest film, 'Into The Woods', is set for release on Friday (09.01.15) - isn't the only cast member to have developed an interesting celebrity crush.
Her co-star Emily Blunt - who has 10-month-old daughter Hazel with husband John Krasinski - admitted she finds actor Roy Scheider and his smoking habit attractive in the iconic 1975 shark attack flick 'Jaws'.
Emily, 31, said of the late star, who died in February 2008, aged 75: "I have a crush on Roy Scheider in Jaws. It's the way that cigarette dangles out the side of his mouth.
"No one smokes a cigarette like him."

Nicole Kidman has easy life

Nicole Kidman has an "easy" life.
The 47-year-old actress is very happy with husband Keith Urban and their daughters Sunday, six, and four-year-old Faith and admits she didn't realise how to achieve domestic bliss until she got there.
Nicole - who also has adopted kids Isabella, 22, and Connor, 19, with ex-husband Tom Cruise - said: "We have a very easy, warm, peaceful life.
"I think that's something that I always wanted and I was heading towards and I didn't know how to find it -- and I found it now. I laugh a lot more now, I'm happier."
Nicole and Keith refuse to pose for pictures with fans when they are out as a family because their children don't understand why they are being approached.
The actress told 'Today Show' host Matt Lauer: "Our kids don't understand what we do, so for them, it's just, 'Why is this stranger taking a photo of you?' And it's very discombobulating for them."
Despite her years of Hollywood success, the 'Paddington' star is still stunned by how far she has come since she was a child dreaming of being an actress.
She said: "It's been an extraordinary journey, my life, from a little girl who grew up in Sydney and sort of watched the Academy Awards on TV when I was just seven years old --to have actually come that whole distance is extraordinary."
