Scarlett Moffatt joins BBC’s royal wedding coverage

Scarlett Moffatt will be part of the BBC’s royal wedding coverage.
The former ‘Gogglebox’ star will be checking in to Radio 1’s daytime shows every hour with live updates from Windsor Castle as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot in front of the world at St George’s Chapel on May 19.
BBC One’s presenting team will be led by Kirsty Young, Huw Edwards, Dermot O’Leary, Tina Daheley, Alex Jones, Ore Oduba and Anita Rani.
On the morning of the wedding, Dermot and Kirsty will be by the moat outside the castle, while Huw will take up his position on the roof of the Guard Room.
The others will be around Windsor to get reaction, excitement and stories from wedding guests entering the Chapel, as well as meeting people hoping to catch a glimpse of the carriage procession.
Kirsty said: "They’re a couple who seem to have captured the goodwill of the world. Yet at the heart of this national event is a very personal, modern day love story.
"It looks set to be a Royal Wedding like no other and I’m very pleased indeed to be part of the BBC One team sharing it with the nation."
Meanwhile, Scarlett will join the likes of Chris Evans, Mel Sykes, Alan Carr and Zoe Ball as part of the BBC’s radio coverage.
Chris will front a "special show" on Radio 2, promising some surprise guests and soaking up the mood and atmosphere in Windsor" in the morning.
As well as Zoe’s wedding themed afternoon show, Alan and Mel’s show will feature "music, nuptial shout-outs" and texts from listeners – and Paul Gambaccini’s ‘Pick of the Pops’ will feature hits from 1984 and 1981, the years Harry and Meghan were born.
Clare Balding will also present live commentary from Windsor Castle across Radio 4, Radio 5 Live and the BBC World Service.
