Britain's Queen Elizabeth has photobombed a woman's selfie.
Australian hockey player Jade Taylor was celebrating her team's 4-0 win over Malaysia at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow yesterday(24.07.14) when she took a selfie with her teamate Brooke Peris and was shocked to find the Queen had crept into the photo.
The picture - which Jade, 29, later posted on her Twitter account - shows the girls smiling wearing their sports kits, while the Queen, dressed head to toe in mint green, can be seen grinning at the pair in the background.
She captioned the image: "Ahhh The Queen photo-bombed our selfie!! #royalty #sheevensmiled #amazing #Glasgow2014 @Hockeyroos @AusComGames(sic)".
It remains unclear whether Her Majesty - who arrived at the new Glasgow National Hockey Centre to watch the England women's team win their first match of the competition against Wales - had intended to get in the way on the shot, reports standard.co.uk.
Meanwhile, the Queen kicked off the 2014 games in an opening ceremony at the Celtic Park stadium on wednesday (23.07.14).
The 88-year-old royal delivered an almost-year-old message - which had been placed in a baton and carried by fans over a 10-month relay through 71 locations in the Commonwealth - to the 40,000 strong crowd.
She said: "At Buckingham Palace last October I placed this message into the specially-crafted baton and passed it to the first of many thousands of baton-bearers. Over the past 288 days the baton has visited all the nations and territories of the Commonwealth, crossing every continent in a journey of more than 100,000 miles.
"The baton relay represents a calling together of people from every part of the Commonwealth and serves as a reminder of our shared ideals and ambitions as a diverse, resourceful and cohesive family."
New evidence linking Spain's Princess Cristina to a money-laundering scheme has been heard in court.
According to theolivepress.es, the 49-year-old royal - who appeared in court in March this year over alleged tax evasion and money laundering offences linked with her husband, Inaki Urdangarin and the firm Aizoon, which she co-owns - may have to return to the dock again after new emails linking her to the case were uncovered.
The documents are part of an appeal by Diego Torres, Inaki's ex-partner, and his wife Ana Maria, who claim Cristina - the sister of Spain's King Felipe VI, who was sworn in last month following the abdication of their father Juan Carlos - was fully aware of her husband's business and wrongdoing.
At first the mother of four was only called in to court to give evidence in the case until the investigating judge, Jose Castro, decided she should be tried alongside her husband and other suspects.
Princess Cristina also tried to appeal against the embezzlement charges that had been brought against her earlier this month.
Her lawyer Miquel Roca said at the time: "It is not a problem of optimism or pessimism, it is a question of absolute conviction of the innocence of our client."
If convicted by the provincial court in Palma de Mallorca, Cristina could face up to 11 years in jail.
Britain's royal family's private home videos are to be exhibited at Buckingham Palace.
The self-shot footage shows Queen Elizabeth as a little girl and as a young mother playing with her own children, and will go on display as part of the palace's Royal Childhood Exhibition this Summer.
The personal videos also show the 88-year-old monarch as a youngster performing dance routines with her sister, Princess Margaret, reports The Mirror newspaper.
Curator Anna Reynolds, who has been working on the exhibition since last October, said: "There's an interest in royal children at the moment, so we felt that this was a good year to do it.
"We looked through a large amount of private film footage that's generally kept in the royal archives.
"I think you get a sense of the fun side of royal childhood and the close relationship between the parents and children.
"This gives such an intimate view into them as children."
The collection also includes more than 150 objects that belonged to 25 royal children from George IV in 1763 to today's Prince George, including christening robes, toys, prams, clothes and cots, as well as Prince William's geography schoolbooks full of drawings of butterflies.
Anna added: "It's such a privilege to get to see these personal items and we hope that will make the exhibition really appeal."
Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are planning a birthday party for Prince Harry.
The royal couple - who celebrated their son, Prince George turning one earlier this week - are said to be planning a low-key affair for 29-year-old as he celebrates his landmark 30th birthday this September.
Harry's older brother Prince William, 32 and his wife Duchess Catherine are said to have invited 30 of his closest friends to a dinner party at Kensington Palace.
A source told Vanity Fair magazine: "Kate's in charge of the meal plan and William's sorting the invites."
However, Harry's best friend, nightclub owner Guy Pelly, has other ideas for the Prince and has suggested a party at Sloane Square night spot Tonteria for his actual birthday on September 15.
Although Harry - who has already been told he would have to leave the party by 10.30pm - would prefer to tone-down the occasion in order to focus on the upcoming Invictus Games which are also set to take place in London this September.
The source explained: "Harry would like to go, but he knows he can't have a crazy night out and misbehave. For him, September is all about the Invictus Games and he doesn't want anything overshadowing that."
