Britain's Prince Harry's trip to Whanganui will be "especially exciting" for "younger women", according to Mayor Annette Main.
New Zealand's Prime Minister John Key yesterday (13.04.15) announced that the district of Whanganui would be among the locations visited by the flame-haired royal on his tour of the country next month.
And Whanganui Mayor Annette Main has now expressed her delight at the people of New Zealand being given the opportunity to meet the dashing young prince.
She told TV One's 'Breakfast': "It's pretty exiting, especially for a lot of the younger women.
"Across the district people are pretty pleased to have a royal visit ... It's a tight schedule, we have been trying to figure out what to do with the few hours we have with him."
Prince Harry, 30 - who is currently in Australia - will be in Whanganui for approximately six hours and is scheduled to meet with RSA members and complete a "meet and greet".
The Mayor added: "The last [royal] visit that I recall was [Harry's parents, Prince] Charles and [Princess] Diana when they came to visit Prince Edward when he was a tutor at Wanganui Collegiate."

Britain's Prince Andrew has returned to official duties after a US judge struck out sex allegations made against him.
The Duke of York toured the site of manufacturing giant AzkoNobel and highlighted its support for the charity Outward Bound Trust yesterday (13.04.15), six days after a judge removed allegations made against him from civil court records.
A woman named Virginia Roberts had claimed she'd been forced by the 55-year-old royal's disgraced former friend Jeffery Epstein to have sex with the Duke when she was just 17-years-old.
However, Prince Andrew - who has daughters Princess Eugenie, 25, and Princess Beatrice, 26, with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson - has vehemently denied the allegations since they first emerged at the start of the year.
Asked if he was still happy to be associated with Andrew, AzkoNovel's UK managing director Matt Pullen is reported by the Daily Express newspaper to have said: "To be honest this is a long-standing engagement, he's the patron of the Outward Bound Trust, who we have a fantastic relationship with, and it's great to have him here."
Andrew made a speech about how important it is that the Slough-based firm - who are best known for their Dulux paint range - support the trust during his visit.
He said: "We need to encourage young people today, to understand there is a need for leadership and there is a need for teamwork and that's different to management.
"This is about actually encouraging young people to recognise they have more in them than they ever realised before."

Britain's Prince George opened a china cabinet to look for his father after his mother said that he was visiting "China".
The Duchess of Cambridge - who is also known by her maiden name Kate Middleton - and her husband Prince William's 21-month-old son George has proved he's already much smarter than most toddlers after searching for his father in the family's china cabinet upon hearing he was visiting "China".
Claudia Gordon, who owns Naples Luxury Travel Advisors and had lunch with Duchess Catherine and Prince George, said: "[Kate] told me that his daddy, Prince William, was visiting China.
"After hearing this, he went to the china cabinet, opened it and proclaimed, 'Daddy is not there'. She said they would work on his geography."
Claudia also revealed that the Duchess - who is due to give birth to her and Williams' second child later this month - believes George is looking forward to the imminent arrival of his brother or sister.
She told Florida's News-Press: "I asked her if Prince George was excited about the new price or princess that was coming. She said yes and that he is a toddler and is talking and walking."

Britain's Duchess of Cornwall is selling honey from her garden.
The 67-year-old royal - who celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary with husband Prince Charles last week - is selling honey made by bees in her country garden for £20 per jar.
Camilla is selling the jars of jam through the luxury department store Fortnum & Mason in London.
A statement reads: "Each jar is individually labelled and contains carefully crafted and delicately perfumed nectar with subtle hints of chamomile, making it the ideal accompaniment to ice cream on hot summer days, or for sweetening tea."
Each year the bees will provide the honey for 250 jars, with all proceeds going to a charity close to her heart, Medical Detection Dogs, for which she has been a patron since February last year.
The honeybees live at Duchess Camilla's Wiltshire home, Ray Mill House, which is just a short drive from the Highgrove home she shares with Charles.
Fortnum & Mason CEO Ewan Venters added: "We have four beehives housed on our roof at Piccadilly and a dedicated beekeeper who nurtures and protects our bees to produce incredible honey that is stocked on our shelves. The Duchess' honey is a more than welcome addition, and one I'm certain our customers will love."

Britain's Prince Harry is to visit Stewart Island and other locations on his tour of New Zealand next month.
The 30-year-old royal - who announced earlier this year that he is to leave the British Army in June - is to visit Stewart Island, Christchurch, Wellington, Linton, Whanganui and Auckland when he arrives in the country next month.
Prime Minister John Key revealed further details of the prince's upcoming visit today (13.04.15), saying: "An interesting programme is being planned for Prince Harry to try and meet a wide range of New Zealanders in different communities."
The 53-year-old politician added that he's confident Prince Harry will have a "fantastic time" and hopes many New Zealanders will enjoy the opportunity to meet him.
Meanwhile, the flame-haired royal recently revealed he "would love" to live in a remote village after visiting the Aboriginal Australian community of Wuggubun earlier this month as part of his month-long deployment with the Australian defence force.
Community member Barry Trust said Harry "just rocked up" but was a "real delightful chap, very good to talk to".
He added: "We've invited him back again sometime.
"He'd love to - he said he'd love to live out this way, to get away from all the media."

Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are thinking about naming their second child after the jockey Sam Waley-Cohen.
Prince William and his wife Duchess Catherine have reportedly discussed the idea of naming their unborn child Samuel or, if they have a girl, Samantha, after their close friend and jockey Sam, who was once dubbed "The Royal Matchmaker" for helping them to rekindle their romance following their split in 2007.
David Williams, who is a spokesperson for Ladbrokes, said: "With Sam Waley-Cohen's close links to the Royals it seems punters are putting two and two together and coming up with Sam as their answer for the baby's name."
The betting shop is said to have received a flurry of bets on the name after Waley-Cohen's high profile win at the Aintree horse races in Merseyside last week with odds now falling from 66/1 to 20/1.
However, they are not the only bookmakers who have been forced to reduce their odds on the name.
Simon Clare from Coral told the Daily Express newspaper: "We have slashed his odds from 66/1 to 40/1.
"Given how close the Duchess of Cambridge is to Sam Waley-Cohen we are also seeing money for Sam or Samuel at 150/1 and Samantha at 200/1 to be their second baby's name."
Duchess Catherine - who has 21-month-old son Prince George with William - is reportedly expected to give birth to their second child on April 25.

Britain's Prince William and Prince Harry once tried to trick their chef into cooking them pizza when they were children.
The Duke of Cambridge and his brother Harry are said to have tried to get their personal chef to cook them up a tasty snack by forging a note from their nanny saying they were to have pizza instead of roast chicken but their "juvenile handwriting gave their identity away".
Former Royal chef Darren McGrady admitted he was "more scared of the nanny" than he was of William so he chose to obey her rather than the young princes.
He shared: "They may be royal children, but they still have children's palettes."
McGrady explained that during his 15 years as chef to the Queen and Princess Diana at Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace, the chef of the day would send a list of suggestions to the young royals' nursery for what they should eat and the nanny would then make her choice and a butler would bring the meals down to them.
The former chef explained that the boys were served "traditional, English food" and said William was fond of cottage pies and peas, poached chicken and rice and fish cakes.
He told People magazine of the selection of meals: "Everything a normal British child would have. The only difference is they had a chef cooking it for them."

Britain's Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn attended their first overseas royal engagement this weekend.
The 11-year-old and seven-year-old royals joined their parents, the Earl and Countess of Wessex on their visit to the Ubunye Foundation, for which Countess Sophie, 50, is patron, during their holiday in South Africa.
The Countess - who married Prince Edward, 51, in 1999 - said: "It's very important for my children to see immediately from the moment that they come to South Africa that it's not just about wonderful, beautiful animals and beautiful scenery.
"That there is a huge need to support, protect and nurture the communities that live around and within these beautiful surroundings."
The charitable organisation, which is based in Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape, works to help rural communities in the region to become self-reliant.
Lucy O'Keeffe - who is director of the foundation - says the Wessexes have long been associated with the Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, whose owners originally established the organisation 13 years ago.
She's reported by the Daily Express newspaper as saying: "We saw this as a very exciting opportunity for us to have an ambassador abroad who could spread the kind of message that we are trying to communicate about development and trying to shift people's perceptions of development in the way that rural communities are viewed."
