Britain’s Queen Elizabeth opens lion enclosure

Britain's Queen Elizabeth opened a new enclosure at London Zoo yesterday (17.03.16).
The 89-year-old royal was joined by her husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh at the unveiling of the Land of the Lions enclosure, a brand new home for their four species of Asiatic lions.
Of the new enclosure, a post on the zoo's official website reads: "ZSL London Zoo's newest and most breath-taking exhibit transports visitors from the heart of London to India's vibrant Sasan Gir, where they can get closer than ever before to mighty Asiatic lions.
"Three walkways cover the 2,500sqm exhibit with thrilling, immersive Indian-themed areas to explore - including a train station, crumbling temple clearing, high street and guard hut.
"For the first time, big cat lovers can embark on an interactive Indian adventure as they help ZSL's forest rangers deal with a 'lion-emergency' in the Gir Forest, and lend a hand to the veterinary team who come to the rescue."
The Queen unveiled a plaque during the event yesterday and toured the site ahead of its public opening later this month.
She was also presented with a memento from a previous visit to the zoo, where she opened the New Lion Terraces 40 years ago.

Britain’s Prince Charles urges for peace in Serbia

Britain's Prince Charles has urged for "peace and stability" in Serbia.
The 67-year-old royal expressed the importance of unity as he spoke at Parliament Building in the country's capital of Belgrade yesterday (17.03.16).
He said: "Today, therefore, I want to salute all those in this region who have had the courage to cross the divide between the different communities, the different faiths and within faiths. Such heroic examples are a badly needed inspiration to others in this region and to the rest of the world at this time.
"I can only assure you that Britain is with you as you build your common future. Peace and stability in this region will mean that all of us, whether in the Balkans, in the United Kingdom, or elsewhere, can enjoy a safer and more prosperous future. Together, we can build this future."
The Prince of Wales also spoke of the connections between the United Kingdom and the Balkans.
He added: "Today, people from the Balkans are well known in Britain in so many fields: in contemporary music, Rita Ora (whom I had the great pleasure to hear sing for the first time in London last week); then there is the classical guitarist, Milos Karadaglic, and the violinist at the London Symphony Orchestra, Roman Simovic.
"There is also, of course, a certain tennis player who stubbornly refuses to yield the Wimbledon Championship! Novak Djokovic's virtuosity on the court, and his humanity off it, are an inspiration to young people the world over."
