Pink Floyd announce Victoria and Albert Museum exhibition

A Pink Floyd exhibition is coming to London’s Victoria and Albert Museum next year.
The legendary prog rock band will mark 50 years since the release of their 1967 debut single ‘Arnold Layne’ with the new attraction, ‘The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains’.
The immersive theatrical journey will showcase the ‘Comfortably Numb’ hitmakers’ music, iconic visuals and staging of the band, from the underground psychedelic scene in 1960’s London to the present day.
The exhibition is the first collaboration of Pink Floyd’s remaining members and while they didn’t all get together to discuss it they’ve all given it their seal of approval.
V&A curator, Victoria Brookes, said: "We can bring them together in a fashion at the V&A. They have always had a very strong visual aspect. In a way, they have always been known by that visual imagery rather than as individual members of the band."
Two of the main attractions include unseen concert footage and a spectacular light show.
The exhibition will also feature a Sennheiser sonic experience, never-heard-before material, over 350 artefacts relating to the group and spectacular set and construction pieces from some of Pink Floyd’s most innovative and legendary album covers and stage performances including ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’, ‘The Wall’ and ‘The Division Bell’.
Michael Cohl of Iconic Entertainment Studios – who are promoting the show – said: "We are proud to have been chosen as the promoter of what will be an incredible exhibition at the V&A.
"I have always loved being involved with Pink Floyd and the work that goes into making a visual spectacular. This is the culmination of a long history together and I’m happy to work once again with one of the greatest bands of all time."
The band – who were formed in London in 1965 by singer Syd Barrett, bassist Roger Waters, drummer Nick Mason and keyboard player Rick Wright – are widely recognised for being one of the first rock groups to use light effects and film footage during their shows.
‘The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains’ comes to the V&A from May 13 to October 1, 2017.
Tickets are on sale now.
