Paul McCartney dedicates Minneapolis show to Prince

Sir Paul McCartney dedicated his entire Minneapolis show on Wednesday night (04.05.16) to "the late great Prince".
The Beatles legend performed the first of two concerts in the ‘Purple Rain’ hitmaker’s home city at the Target Center, the latest stop on his ‘One on One Tour’.
During his three-hour-long set, the 73-year-old rocker told the sold-out crowd that he’d seen Prince – who passed away at his Paisley Park estate on April 21 at the age of just 57 – that he’d seen the music icon perform many shows in his lifetime and even got to see him on New Year’s Eve last year.
He told the audience: "Prince, Minneapolis. It goes together. (This is for) the late, great Prince."
The ‘Hey Jude’ hitmaker performed a mixture of songs from his time in The Beatles, Wings and as a solo artist and at times was backed by the purple symbol that Prince changed his name to in 1993 during his battle with his record label Warner Bros.
And he finished the concert by performing part of Prince’s 1984 hit ‘Let’s Go Crazy’.
McCartney will take to the stage once more at the Target Center on Thursday evening (05.05.16) before he takes his tour to Argentina for three nights.
The guitar genius shows no signs of slowing down as he has extended the ‘One on One’ tour due to popular demand.
And he’s also be playing super festival Desert Trip, where he will perform alongside The Who, Roger Waters, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and The Rolling Stones at a one-off special event curated by the organisers of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at Indio, California’s Empire Polo Club from October 7 until October 9.
