Noah Kahan blasts Donald Trump for using his song without permission

Noah Kahan has become the latest artist to call out President Donald Trump for using music without permission, after the White House featured his track American Cars in an Instagram post promoting Trump’s visit to General Motors’ flagship in Michigan.

The post – which praised Trump for “putting America first” – left the Stick Season star horrified. Noah, 29, responded: “Would never approve of my music being used in support of you or this administration.”

His co‑writer Noah Levine was even more blunt, firing back: “You fat f*** this song isn’t for you.”

American Cars is no longer available on the post, but still remains on a TikTok clip by the White House.

Noah’s complaint comes just days after Katy Perry called out Trump for using her mega-hit Firework to soundtrack a TikTok video showing the country’s military strikes in Iran.

The caption read:  “Iran has been warned.”

She hit back on X: “I am deeply appalled and angry to see Firework used on the White House TikTok as a backing track for video footage of military strikes.

“I did not approve this, I was not asked, and I absolutely do not condone it.”

The 41‑year‑old star said the message behind Firework had been completely twisted.

She continued: “I wrote this song to be an anthem of hope, healing, and inner strength for people going through their darkest personal moments.

“To see a message of self-worth and upliftment weaponised to soundtrack destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song stands for.

“My music is for bringing people together, not celebrating warfare.”

Katy actually performed Firework at Trump’s arch-nemesis Joe Biden’s inauguration in 2021.
