Akon claims his record label cut ties with Lady Gaga because her career is on the decline.
The 'Senegalese' hitmaker, who initially signed Gaga to his Kon Live Distribution record label under Interscope in 2007, claims he "cashed out" on the 'Born This Way' singer because he felt her career had hit a "peak".
In an interview with US DJ Sway on Sirius XM, he was asked if he was "still involved with the star", to which he responded: "Actually I cashed out. I got out while the gooding (sic) was hot. It's like a business, you build it to sell it.
"When I got it to the peak of where I felt it couldn't go nowhere, and there was nowhere left to go but down, I cashed out."
He added: "In other words I sold my share and got out before it was too late."
During the earlier years Akon was involved in Gaga's first album 'The Fame' and co-wrote her hit debut single 'Just Dance.'
When another DJ sitting in on the chat suggested her recent 'ARTPOP' album didn't live up to the success of her previous records, Akon reiterated: "That's why I got out."
The 27-year-old star has previously been forced to defend her new music and claimed she has lost friends throughout her career due to "greed."
Writing on her Little Monsters website, she said: "I never thought after all the years of hard work that those I called friends and partners would ever care so little at a time I needed them the most. I have lost loved ones to the greed of money."
Gene Simmons claims credible bands can kiss his "ass".
The KISS bassist thinks groups shouldn't take themselves too seriously and instead they should take inspiration from early rock and roll bands who made up their own rules.
As KISS feature on the front cover of Rolling Stone magazine for the first time, Gene told the publication: "All the credible bands can kiss my ass, with all due respect.
"The original forefathers who are now in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - and I don't mean the disco or the hip-hop artists, what the fuck are they thinking? - couldn't spell the word 'credibility' and never thought about it.
"It was an antithesis of the self-imposed mandate, which is, 'Do what you want to do.' In other words, no rules."
The rock band - also made up of current members Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer - will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame themselves next month and Gene insists it's all for the fans.
He said: "The most important thing is that it's validation for fans who were picked on for liking KISS as opposed to, I don't know, Air Supply."
A classic photograph of the band from 1975 - featuring the original line-up of Gene, Paul, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss - appears on the cover of Rolling Stone, although the band are still feuding with the two founding members.
Paul and Gene offered to allow Ace and Peter to play with the current line-up at the ceremony, along with Tommy and Eric, but the pair found that proposition insulting.
Pete said: "I won't be disrespected. How can you put me in the Hall of Fame and then tell me to go sit over there in the corner while another guy puts on my makeup and plays? That's an injustice. To the fans, too."
Meanwhile, Gene thinks the pair "no longer deserve to wear the paint."
He said: "The makeup is earned. Just being there at the beginning is not enough ... And if you blow it for yourself, it's your fault. You can't blame your band members. 'Oh, look what happened to me. Oh, poor me.' Look at my little violin. I have no sympathy."
Kermit the Frog joked about watching films starring Bruce Willis to prepare for the 'Muppets Most Wanted'.
The children's favourite was inspired by the 'Die Hard' star for his latest "action" role where he is arrested and taken to the Gulag after being mistaken for the villain, Constantine.
Kermit makes multiple escape attempts, each one thwarted by prison guard Nadya (Tina Fey), before eventually succeeding, and insists this part is unlike his previous performances.
Talking at the film's press conference on Tuesday (25.03.14), he told BANG Showbiz: "I think of myself as having a bit of an action role in this. It's something I haven't done before. In order to prepare for the role I watched all of Bruce Willis' movies and when that didn't work I went to his hairdresser."
Meanwhile Constantine - who plays the world's number one criminal and is only distinguished from Kermit because of the mole on his right cheek - admitted he enjoys playing the bad guy.
Constantine said: "There was part of me that enjoyed being the bad guy and enjoyed being hated. I was written that way, so what can I say."
Kermit added: "We don't hate him. It's sort of just a story for the movie. He's actually an old pal from the swamp, Ricky [Gervais] is his best friend."
Gervais stars as Constantine's henchman, Dominic 'The Lemur' Badguy, and thinks he's helped soften the stern frog.
He added: "Doing this movie and meeting me has thawed his [Constantine's] heart of stone. You see, he was born in a pond in Russia, one of 800 brothers, sisters, tadpoles, many of them dead. But showing him love has made him a cuddly little thing."
Anna Faris and her husband Chris Pratt have been cast in comedy 'Vacation Friends'.
The married stars - who have 18-month-old son Jack together - are set to put their real life chemistry to the test when they appear as an on-screen couple.
The movie centres around a straight-laced couple who become pals with a wild and eccentric couple (Faris and Pratt) during a holiday to Mexico, but upon return from their holiday they are dismayed to find their newfound crazy friends are trying to keep the party going.
Deadline.com reports, 20th Century Fox has bought the script from brothers Tom and Tim Mullen in a "near seven-figure deal", with 'Hot Tub Time Machine' director Steve Pink on board to direct.
Todd Garner will be producing through his Broken Road Picture banner.
'Scary Movie' star Faris and Pratt have acting opposite each other in the past, since they met on the set of 'Take Me Home Tonight' in 2008, and got married the following July.
Faris is currently on sitcom 'Mom' and Pratt will next be seen in 'Guardians Of The Galaxy'.

Sandra Bullock is planning a TV version of 'Miss Congeniality'.
The 'Heat' actress reportedly wants to produce a comedic spin-off of her hit 2000 movie, in which she played FBI agent Gracie Hart, who went undercover at a beauty pageant, and is confident it would be a success.
A source said: "Sandra is planning on producing a comedic TV version of her smash movie series 'Miss Congeniality' that's being described as 'Bridesmaids' Meets '24'.
"Sandra loved her 'Miss Congeniality' FBI agent character Gracie Hart and the concept so much that for years she has continued to keep up friendships with FBI agents she met while researching it
"Sandra loves that real FBI agents, particularly female ones, continue to respond to and write her letters about both 'Miss Congeniality' and 'The Heat'."
The 49-year-old actress - who produced 'The George Lopez' show from 2002 to 2007 - is looking forward to casting the lead role and wants to introduce the character to a new audience.
The source added to RadarOnline.com: "Sandra just feels like it's time to bring this story to a new generation!"
Sandra reprised the character for 2005 sequel 'Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous' - which, as with the first movie, she also produced - but it was less successful than the original, both commercially and critically.
Kelly Osbourne is "disgusted" by the backlash against Kim Kardashian's US Vogue cover.
The 'Fashion Police' host doesn't think readers have the right to criticise the 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star and her rapper fiance, Kanye West, who front the latest edition of the magazine, after stars like Sarah Michelle Gellar have threatened to cancel their subscription to the prestigious publication.
In a blog post titled 'MY THOUGHTS ON KIM AND KANYE ON VOGUE', she wrote: "People are even going so far as to cancel their subscriptions or bloggers [are] taking down the link to Vogue magazine. I don't want to even go into the awful things people have said about them.
"I find this disgusting. Regardless of whether or not you think Kim and Kanye are worthy enough [to] be on the cover ... it's not your decision to make. I do believe that would be up to [Editor] Anna Wintour."
Kelly urges fans to "be happy" for Kim and Kanye, who have nine-month-old daughter North together and are expected to wed this May.
She explained: "So back off, stop s**ting on people's dreams that have come true and try for once to be happy for others' success. Stop raining on their parade!"
However, Kelly admits it looks like the cover of US Prom magazine, a publication which covers teen stars.
She added: "There is no denying that it looks like a really beautiful picture for the cover of Prom magazine so I understand why the fashionistas of the world would not like it."
Anna Wintour caught up with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian at the Waverly Inn restaurant in New York. The US Vogue editor-in-chief wore a geometric print trench coat for her lunch date with the rapper and his fiancee.
Prince George's nanny has been "named and shamed" for allegedly failing to pay council tax in Spain.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hired Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, 43, to look after their eight-month-old son, but it appears the childminder hasn't got a great reputation in her homeland.
The carer was reportedly threatened with a visit from debt collectors and a fine with interest added on unless she paid what she owed in full.
Although she settled her debt, known as IBI - the UK equivalent of council tax - her name still appears on the online register after failing to pay two years' worth of payment in 2007 and 2008.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "She's resolved the situation and owes no money to the council now.
"But it's a major source of embarrassment to her that her name is still on a public debtors' list which is just a click of a mouse away.
"Maria Teresa might like to see it removed from the public arena but there's absolutely nothing she can do about it."
Meanwhile, Maria trained at the prestigious Norland College in Bath, which teaches nannies how to care for children during an intensive full-time three-year degree course, costing a total of £36,000.
The royal couple recruited the new child minder to look after George after his former nanny Jessie Webb, 71, who previously looked after William when he was a child, gave her notice in last month.
Britain's Prince Harry has come under fire over a helicopter flight in Kazakhstan.
Human rights activists have expressed concern about the 29-year-old royal's use of a government chopper to fly to the exclusive Shymbulak ski resort, which is owned by wealthy entrepreneur Serzhan Zhumashov, who has close ties with Kazakhstan's oppressive president Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Allan Hogarth of Amnesty International UK told the Daily Express newspaper: "There's no law against Harry going skiing in Kazakhstan, but he might want to spare a thought for the people who aren't going to be sharing the slopes with him.
"Kazakhstan is a repressive country where torture is rife and political opposition is crushed."
Kensington Palace declined to comment on whether Harry - who went on a skiing trip with his girlfriend Cressida Bonas - had asked for approval from the Foreign Office before going on holiday, but a representative insisted the couple paid for the trip themselves and weren't guests of the Kazakh government.
The spokesperson said: "Prince Harry was a on a private skiing trip. It was exactly that, no more, no less."
Niall Horan wants to invite Queen Elizabeth to a One Direction concert.
The 20-year-old heartthrob was among the stars who met the monarch at a special event in Buckingham Palace yesterday (25.03.14) to mark the contributions of Irish people in Britain - ahead of Irish president Michael D Higgins' state visit to the country next month - and is considering extending an invitation to her to see him at work.
He quipped to the Daily Express newspaper: "I might ask her if she wants to come to a show.
"It's an absolute honour to be here with two great countries coming together. I couldn't believe it when I got the invitation. To have met Her Majesty again was a great experience."
Irish 'X Factor' judge Louis Walsh exchanged a few words with the 87-year-old monarch, too.
He said: "We talked about her visit to Ireland, she said she had a wonderful time and that she'd love to come back again. She said she thought she picked the perfect moment to come while Mary McAleese was still president.
"I didn't ask if she watches 'The X Factor' but I think she might be watching 'Strictly Come Dancing'."
A palace spokesperson said of the event: "It was a really fun evening - great company and extremely relaxed. Her Majesty seemed to enjoy the craic."
