Lupita Nyong’o screeched "with glee" when she heard Jay Z mention her in a new song.
The ’12 Years a Slave’ star is thrilled to have received a "shout-out" from the 44-year-old rapper – real name Shawn Carter – in his freestyle collaboration with New Orleans emcee Jay Electronica, ‘We Made It.’
The Oscar-winning actress wrote on Twitter on Wednesday (02.04.14): "Dear Mr. Carter & Mr. Thedford, your shout-out made me screech with glee. Mad BK & NOLA love. #WeMadelt – LN @S_C_ @JayElectronica (sic)"
Jay Z rapped about Lupita’s success at the Oscars last month on the track, which includes the lyrics: "I’m on my Lupita Nyong’o, Stuntin’ on stage, after ’12 Years A Slave.’ This Ace of Spades look like an Oscar. Black tux, look like a mobster."
It was recently revealed that the 31-year-old Kenya-born beauty is dating ‘Wavin’ Flag’ hitmaker K’Naan, 36.
The couple got together in September after bonding over similar interests and live in New York City.
The insider recently told UsMagazine.com: "She loves his humanitarianism. They’re both passionate about African issues."
The Somali-born rapper has two sons with his ex-wife Deqa Warsame and is taking his new romance Lupita slowly.
The source added: "She hasn’t met his kids."
