Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have paid their respects to New Zealand's war dead.
The royal couple laid a wreath in a service at Blenheim's war memorial before meeting with some of the 5,000 people who had turned out to welcome Prince William and Duchess Catherine to the country's South Island.
Though the pair were not joined by their son Prince George, eight months, they were happy to chat to well-wishers about their little boy, with William joking he hoped the baby's teething wasn't causing problems at their temporary home of Government House in Wellington.
Annette Michna-Konigstorfer said: "I asked him how his kid was and he said he hopes he's not chewing everything at Government House. William was fantastic and wonderful - I love all the Royal Family."
Jan Cross, 55, who emigrated to New Zealand from Britain seven years ago, was jokingly asked by the prince if she wanted to babysit the little boy when she enquired whether he had enjoyed his first official engagement yesterday (09.04.14), in which he joined a number of local babies for a coffee morning.
Jan said: "I said 'is George OK?' and William said 'yes' and I asked if he enjoyed himself at Plunket and he said he had.
"Then he said 'you can do some babysitting for us if you like'. I would love to help out with George for the day."
William and Catherine were given a number of gifts by the crowd, including a teddy bear, a friendship bracelet from a little boy - which the prince immediately put on - and a pair of brown booties for their son.
Zella Vile, who knitted the booties, said: "It took me just a day to make them, it's my hobby. I just thought George is lovely and I'll make something for him."
William thanked her and said: "These will fit him quite well."
James 'Arg' Argent is in the running for the new series of 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 'Only Way is Essex' star has long been a fan of the BBC ballroom contest and his dream of being a contestant could come true this year as he says he is "definitely" being considered by producers.
He said: "I want to do Strictly this year and I'm definitely in their thoughts.
And Arg thinks he would have a good chance of winning - and hopes the show could take him further towards his ambition of starring in a West End show.
He added to the Daily Star newspaper: "I can dance. I have got rhythm. I would shock people with my moves.
"I have always dreamed of being in the West End and so this show suits me down to the ground."
Insiders think 'Strictly' would be perfect for Arg as he could easily juggle 'TOWIE' filming in the week with his rehearsals and Saturday night performances on the celebrity dance contest.
However, the reality TV star is also open to following in the footsteps of his former co-stars Joey Essex and Mark Wright and taking part in 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!'.
He added: "I could do the jungle. I've had good practice.
"I once ate some dodgy jellied eels."
Naya Rivera has accused Big Sean of stealing her jewellery.
The actress and the rapper - who got engaged six months ago - have called time on their relationship - and now the 'Glee' star has claimed her former fiance has taken an expensive Rolex watch from her house because he is jealous of her success.
In a tweet which has now been removed, she wrote: "@BigSean stealing rolexes from a lady's house now. Maybe cuz I'm on Glee and making more money or something. #triflin' (sic)"
Though the 26-year-old musician - whose real name is Sean Anderson -hasn't responded directly to the accusations, sources told website TMZ the watch actually belonged to Sean as he bought it as a gift to himself when he first found success but gave it to Naya to wear, though it was never hers to keep.
And despite rumours he had cheated on the 27-year-old actress, insiders branded the speculation "100 per cent false" and claimed he made the decision to call off the wedding as he felt Naya was "too controlling" and jealous of the women he worked with and met on tour.
A representative for Sean announced the pair had made the "difficult decision" to split last night (09.04.14).
They said: "After careful thought and much consideration, Sean has made the difficult decision to call the wedding off ... Sean wishes Naya nothing but the best and it is still his hope that they can continue to work through their issues privately. We will not be commenting again on this matter."
Johnny Depp is planning to reunite with his old band.
The 50-year-old star is reportedly planning on putting his acting career on hold so that he can get back together with his former band The Kids, who he split from 30 years ago.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "It's something he's wanted to do for a while.
"He's a frustrated rocker and for all the success he's had as an actor, he still wishes he could make it in the music world."
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor is said to have been encouraged by his new fiancée Amber Heard, who he met on the set of 2011 film 'The Rum Diary', to reclaim his position as lead guitarist in the rock band.
The source said: "This will be his chance to live out his fantasies and see what might have been. But he's nervous the music critics might give him a hard time.
The Kids decided to part ways in 1984 after moving from Florida to Los Angeles when Johnny landed a role in 'A Nightmare On Elm Street'.
The source added: "They've played the odd gig since but it's 30 years since they officially called it a day.
"Johnny thinks it's the perfect opportunity for them to go on tour and maybe even record an album. The band changed their name to Six Gun Method before they split so it will probably be under that name."
The 'Lone Ranger' star has previously shared his musical talents with other artists, teaming up with Marilyn Manson in 2012 for a cover of Carly Simon's 'Your So Vain'.
He also worked with Babybird and played guitar on Fade In-Out' from Oasis' 1997 album 'Be Here Now'.
In 2011, the actor joined Alice Cooper on stage at London's 100 club.
Gwyneth Paltrow made her friends and family watch old films to try and "re-live her glory days".
The 'Iron Man 3' actress reportedly cosied up to loved ones to watch a number of previous hits such as 'Seven', 'Sliding Doors' and 'Shakespeare In Love', and quizzed them on "what worked about the movies" much to their annoyance.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "Gwyneth is really just trying to re-live her glory days.
"The truth is, if you look at her schedule, she's just not a full-time actor anymore, but she still wants to be treated like a screen legend.
"She's been trotting out the old movies for her friends, but most of them would rather watch paint dry."
This was prior to the end of her marriage with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin - with whom she has children Apple, nine, and eight-year-old Moses - and he was too embarrassed to stick around and watch the movies.
The source added: "It was pretty embarrassing and interestingly Chris never hung around to watch."
Chris, 37, and Gwyneth, 41, broke the news of the breakdown of her marriage on lifestyle website GOOP in a post titled "Conscious Uncoupling" earlier this month.
They wrote: "It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate.
"We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate."
Simon Cowell says Sinitta is a "great" godmother to his son Eric.
The 54-year-old music mogul has enlisted his long time pal and former flame as one of his eight-week-old tot's godparents and she has already spoiled him with lots of gifts.
Speaking at the launch of the new series of 'Britain's Got Talent' in London yesterday (09.04.14), Simon told BANG Showbiz: "She's great. She's bought loads of presents round. She's been great, she loves kids."
Simon - whose girlfriend Lauren Silverman gave birth to Eric on Valentine's Day (14.02.14) - revealed he has got a shortlist of other potential godparents to join the 'So Macho' singer, but won't name names until they've been asked.
He added: "I've got a few ideas, but I've got to ask them first of all."
'The X Factor' star also paid tribute to late socialite Peaches Geldof, who tragically passed away at the age of 25 on Monday (07.04.14).
He said: "I met her a few times - in fact, she came down to the show, and she was a sweet, fun girl. What that family's had to go through over the years, it's unbearable. What can you say in a situation like that? It's very sad."
Matt Damon is set to star in 'The Martian'.
The 'Monuments Men' actor is reportedly considering the lead role in the sci-fi drama, which is based on an e-book by Any Weir and described as a cross between 'Apollo 13' and 'Cast Away', with an American s...
Lucy Mecklenburgh has warned Chloe Sims to "be careful" over her relationship with Mario Falcone.
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star has opened up about her on-again-off-again relationship with the heartthrob and confessed that while his feelings for his best pal Charlie Sim's older sister may be real, she doesn't know whether he can change his ways.
She said: "I actually think his romance with Chloe is genuine - they seem pretty into each other. I'd be careful if I was Chloe. All I can say is, remember he cheated on me."
The 22-year-old beauty - who tricked her Twitter followers into thinking she'd gotten engaged while in Las Vegas last week - has admitted that prior to her holiday she was considering rekindling her romance with her former fiancé.
In her new! magazine column, she said: "I admit that before I went to Vegas I did think about giving things another go. But then I found out apparently he was seeing Chloe and texting another girl while at the same time telling me he would like to try things again.
"It's a shame things haven't changed."
'The Voice' winner Jermain Jackman wants Kylie Minogue to continue as a coach on the show.
The 19-year-old singer, from London, who triumphed on the show on Saturday night (05.04.14), beating acts Sally Barker, Christina Marie and Jamie Johnson, would like to see her on another series of the talent show.
He told BANG Showbiz: "I like Kylie. She is a fantastic coach. But it comes down to her and her decision whether she wants to stay or not."
The soulful singer and Labour party activist, who was coached by will.i.am on the BBC One talent show, is trying to persuade the Black Eyed Peas star to give him one of his new futuristic mobile phone watches, which he debuted on Alan Carr's chat show.
Jermain said: "I want one of those futuristic watches. I can remember in rehearsals he was flicking his watch and I was like, 'What's that?', he was like, 'Just my phone'. He made a call on it, I was like, 'Oh my goodness, can I have one of them?' I think it's still in the post."
Jermain is now planning his debut album and hopes to have a successful music career after landing a recording contract with Universal.
And despite people getting him confused with 'X Factor' star Jermaine Douglas and Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine Jackson, he insists he isn't about to change his name.
He said: "I have never thought about changing my name, I get mistaken for Jermaine Jackson and Jahmene Douglas, but I don't want to change it. If it had an 'e' at the end I would maybe have called my album just 'Jermaine', but I like it how it is."
Robbie Williams' forthcoming tour is inspired by "classic old musicals".
The 'Candy' hitmaker's 'Swing Both Ways Live' shows kick off in Budapest in two weeks time, and he has promised something "very special" for the 46 European shows.
He said: "This 'Swings Both Ways' tour is very different from any previous Robbie Williams tour, and I think it's going to be very special.
"When I was young the television companies in the UK saw fit to broadcast replay after replay after replay of all the classic old musicals. I think most kids my age were bored and turned off by things like that, but I wasn't. I was engrossed in it all, lost in the magic of the glamour, and entranced by the craftsmanship of those times."
And the 40-year-old singer went on to suggest the shows will have a "variety" feel to them.
He added: "I want this to be a show that gives you the same feeling that I used to have at my grandma's on a Saturday night, watching the 'Morecambe & Wise Show' on TV: a show with variety and lots of showbusiness moments. I know my jazz hands are going to be so tired after this tour. I intend to do my very best to ensure that every one of you is heavily entertained."
The shows will see Robbie perform tracks from last year's 'Swing Both Ways' album and 2001's 'Swing When You're Winning' backed by a classic big band and eight dancers, and joined by a number of special guests, including his father Pete Conway.
The 'Let Me Entertain You' hitmaker has also enlisted West End choreographer Alistair David to work alongside his longtime show producer Lee Lodge to help put the gigs together.
Gwyneth Paltrow reportedly wanted to keep her marriage breakdown secret.
The 'Iron Man 3' actress - who announced last month she and Chris Martin were separating after 10 years of marriage - was said to have been keen to allow people to believe they had no problems, but the Coldplay frontman felt it was "wrong" to pretend everything was fine.
A source told the New York Post newspaper: "It was his idea to announce the split. They had drifted apart, and there was no chance they'd get back together, so he felt it was wrong to keep pretending."
The former couple - who have children Apple, nine, and Moses, eight, together - have been holidaying in the Bahamas since news of their separation was announced.
They broke the news with a statement on Gwyneth's lifestyle website GOOP in a post titled "Conscious Uncoupling".
They wrote: "It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate.
"We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate.
"We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been."
Appealing for privacy because they are "parents first and foremost," they added: "We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent, we will be able to continue in the same manner. Love, Gwyneth & Chris."
Peaches Geldof "struggled" to stay off drugs, a friend has claimed.
Jonny Makeup has paid an emotional tribute to his "courageous" late pal - who was found dead at the home she shared with husband Thomas Cohen and their sons Astala, 23 months, and Phaedra, 11 months, on Monday (07.04.14) - but also admitted she was battling some problems.
Jonny - whose real name is Jon Henry Szymanski - told The Sun newspaper: "Losing a friend -- forever -- is one of the worst things that can happen.
"Being a recovering addict myself, I know she struggled to be and stay clean -- like all of us with addictions do. I don't know if this had anything to do with her death. But I just hope she was at peace.
"My life changed when I met Peaches. I've always thought of myself as courageous and spontaneous but in Peaches I found the most fearless and uninhibited person I have ever met.
She is also the smartest person I ever met, sometimes too smart!
"I can say with the most certainty that her everlasting love for the underdogs and outcasts of the world is what bonded us so close."
Yesterday (09.04.14) it was announced a post-mortem examination on the 25-year-old star's body was "inconclusive" and it could take weeks for toxicology results to help establish the cause of death. Police are still searching Peaches' home for evidence, but no drugs or suicide note have been found and her death is not being treated as suspicious.
Meanwhile, a previous unpublished interview with the blonde star has revealed doctors warned her she needed to overhaul her diet as she was at risk of health problems.
Speaking in 2011, Peaches said: "I had cholesterol and the doctors said stop eating s**t. So I did. If you stop eating pizza and chips you then don't look like you used to.
"I used to eat s**t every single day. I used to wake up with my boyfriend and eat crap. I had the heart of a 90-year-old gangster."
