Kiefer Sutherland says 24 film is unlikely

Kiefer Sutherland doesn't think a '24' film will ever happen.
The 47-year-old actor reprises his role as fugitive former Counter Terrorist Agent Jack Bauer after four years away in new series '24: Live Another Day' and although a movie version of the TV programme was mooted in the past he thinks the moment has now gone.
Kiefer also doesn't think the format of the show - real time events set over 24 hours - would be easy to translate into a film.
Kiefer said: "I think we had a run at a movie, I'm sure there are a lot of reasons why that didn't happen, I don't know all of them. 20th Century Fox is a very big company, we work with the television production end, the film end is a whole different group of people and another thing. For whatever reason that didn't happen, I think Season 8 when Jack looks up at that camera and he's given a 15-minute window to go dark and disappear that was the set up for the movie to potentially happen ... I don't see a film shaping itself around what we're doing right now. In all fairness trying to do a two-hour version of a 24-hour day would be impossible. But to go from 24 episodes down to 12, I've found this format right now to be the most interesting so this is what we're going to focus on."
Kiefer believes one of the main motivations for lead writer Howard Gordon bringing back '24' was that he was unhappy with how Season Eight ended for Jack.
He added: "I think one of the reasons why Howard really wanted to do these 12 episodes and where the idea came from for him as a writer was to end it, to bring a sense of closure to the show. That was a big part of it."
'24: Live Another Day' airs on Wednesdays at 9pm on Sky 1 HD and Sky 1 +1.

Danniella Westbrook wants own reality show

Danniella Westbrook wants her own reality TV show.
The former 'EastEnders' actress believes her home life with her boyfriend of six weeks, Tom Richards, and her children Kai, 17, and Jodi, 12, would make fore hilarious viewing and she's ready to let the cameras follow her around 24/7.
Quizzed on what she and Tom had planned for the future, she said: "We're talking about getting our own reality show. I always say my house is like a circus, so it'll make good TV."
The 40-year-old star - who began a relationship with the cage fighter after her 12-year marriage to Kevin Jenkins ended in January - famously battled a £400-per-day cocaine addiction during the 90s, but she's admitted even the end of her marriage didn't tempt her to back to the drug.
Quizzed on whether she's ever feared a relapse, she told Closer magazine: "Not once. It's been difficult, but I ended things with Kevin because I wasn't happy. I feel free now."
Danniella claims her relationship with her ex fell apart because he wasn't supportive of her work as an actress.
She explained: "It all came to a head last Christmas. I was doing panto in Portsmouth for eight weeks and he never came to see the show once. One day he called me and I just snapped. I told him to pack his bags and not be there when I got home. I'd had enough."

Pele in talks with One Direction?

Retired Brazilian footballer Pele is a One Direction fan.
The 73-year-old star made a "surprise appearance" at Estadio Morumbi in Sao Paulo on Saturday night (10.05.14) where Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne were performing as part of their 'Where We Are Tour'.
Coming up on a big screen for a cameo, he said: "I admire and love you.
"I play the guitar and one day we'll play together. I don't want to play football, we'll play guitar, OK? Welcome to Brazil again and good luck."
The sportsman is reportedly in talks with the boys to collaborate and perform with them.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Pele does a lot of work for charity and is keen to make this happen. He is an enthusiastic amateur musician and genuinely excited about the prospect of playing guitar with Niall.
"At the moment a list of potential dates and venues are being discussed but it is looking likely that this will happen. Obviously the boys say they are happy to wear the Brazil shirts in return."

One Direction mock Harry Style’s ‘girlie’ diet

Harry Styles' One Direction bandmates mock his "girlie" diet.
The 20-year-old hunk is on the 'Where We Are' tour alongside Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne who find his health kick "funny" and are placing bets on when he'll get sick of green tea and sushi.
A source told The Daily Star newspaper: "Alongside the normal menus, Harry has put in his own special request of one sushi meal and five cups of green tea a day.
"His pal Nick Grimshaw initially got him into it.
"But the other boys are now betting money on when he'll crack.
"They want none of the sushi and green tea, and find it funny he's asking their chefs to prepare what they consider girlie food."
1D all eat together and to maintain some sort of routine they use the same tablecloth and napkins.
The source added: "They all eat together at the same table - which has the same powder blue and white spotty tablecloth and napkins in every city.
"It helps give them a sense of routine and homeliness."
One Direction ended the South American leg of their tour on May 11 in Brazil and are set to take to the stage in Dublin on May 23 as they hit Europe.

George Clooney sent fiancee ‘series of flirty’ e-mails

George Clooney wooed his fiancee with a "series of flirty" e-mails.
The 'Monuments Men' actor met lawyer Amal Alamuddin at a small charity fundraiser last September and after being instantly attracted to her he resorted to sending her messages online since she refused to take his number.
He emailed her saying: "I think the reported hottest man in the world should meet with the hottest human rights lawyer in the world."
A source told The Daily Mirror newspaper: "At first Amal was playing very hard to get and would not take his phone number, which simply made George even more intrigued.
"In the end he managed to get her email address and began sending her a series of flirty messages. He was very up front and joked about the fact they were both considered the hottest people in their respected professions.
"It was all very tongue in cheek but it got the ball rolling. Amal found it funny, but she still made him wait a few days before replying."
Meanwhile, George, 53, is house hunting in London since Amal, 36, who works at Doughty Street Chambers, will be based in England's capital.
A source added: "George has only known Amal for a few months but with the wedding date set he is now looking for a UK base.
"He wants a place in Richmond because he loves the park and thinks it will be a great place to set up home with Amal.
"She works mainly in London so he will be moving to the UK on a more permanent basis."

Michael Fassbender: Edwin Epps tries to quash love of Patsey

Michael Fassbender tried to find the "human" elements of the evil plantation owner he portrayed in '12 Years A Slave'.
The 37-year-old actor's alter-ego, Edwin Epps, abused slaves because he believed he was biblically sanctioned to do so in the film which is based on the true story of Solomon Northup - a free man who was deceived and sold into slavery.
While preparing for the role Fassbender tried to locate the softer "human being" in his character, who repeatedly raped Patsey (Lupita Nyong'o) and seemed to fall in love with her against his better judgement.
He said: "I think the point of departure for the character really is the relationship with Patsey. It was kind of the focal point - the relationship there and the fact that he was in love with her but didn't know how to process that information. Therefore, he tries to quash it by beating her and the violence towards her. I tried to find a human being in there as opposed to some evil plantation owner."
The Hollywood hunk also tried to master the accent and soak up the atmosphere in New Orleans where the film is set, as well as reading the real memoir which the biopic is based on.
Fassbender added: "I tried to find his voice so I worked with Tim, the dialogue coach, who sent me various tapes with various accents. I went to New Orleans six weeks before we started filming to try and soak up the atmosphere there. Then it's just about working with the script. I read the book of course but then just spent time with the script."
'12 Years A Slave' will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on 12th May 2014, courtesy of Entertainment One.

Mariah Carey proud of musical twins

Mariah Carey says her twins were fantastic while they worked on her album.
The star's daughter Monroe and son Moroccan, both three, both contributed to a song on 'Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse' and their famous mother was delighted at how they handled the recording sessions.
She told the Sunday Mirror newspaper's Notebook magazine: "It's astonishing to hear my daughter sing and to sing with her, she's a natural.
"I feel like I'm bragging, but they're both featured on a song called 'Supernatural' on the album, I wrote it about them and for them.
"It blows my mind, the attention span they have when we're recording."
Mariah suggested her "script" parenting with regards to technology could be a reason they were more tuned into the session.
She explained: "I guess it's because I don't let them sit on the iPad all day, I'm strict about that.
"Monroe if I put her on stage, doesn't want to leave, and I've noticed she wants to sing a song in her own way. She's taking creative control.
"Roc is a true guy, he'll be there in his pyjamas and lie next to me and watch a whole movie - he'll know the dialogue, know what scene is coming next, they're both aware of everything."

Charlize Theron says son is her ‘priority’

Charlize Theron says her "free time" is devoted to her son.
The 'Million Ways to Die in the West' actress gave birth to Jackson two years ago and admitted becoming a mother has been a "natural" change for her.
She told the Mail on Sunday newspaper's Event magazine: "It's a beautiful change, one that is completely natural.
"Obviously, Jackson is my priority now. If I have free time, he's the one who gets it.
"Not because I have to, but because I can't wait to be with him. He gets to be the number one in my life."
The star - who started dating Sean Penn in February - also revealed her and ex-boyfriend Stuart Townsend's son has given her the chance to go back to her dancing roots after an injury cut short her professional ambitions.
She said: "I still dance in my living room every day. I have a lot of 'Mama, let's dance!' going on in my house right now."
When she's not relaxing with her family, Charlize said she enjoys getting time to herself during filming because it lets her catch up on music and books she might have missed.
She added: "I always love when I'm on location and I have that bit of trailer time to myself.
"I'm constantly sharing stuff with my friends and that's predominantly how I get my music. I recently played Pharrell William's album, which I thought was really great.
"And I love reading. I just re-read 'Outliers' by Malcolm Gladwell, the book about statistics and looking at numbers, and the coincidence - or it's not a coincidence - that birthdays play a role in success. It's fascinating."

Mariah Carey needed ‘extra help’ raising twins

Mariah Carey couldn't have coped with her twins "without extra help".
The singing sensation insisted she doesn't want to miss a moment of her daughter Monroe and son Moroccan, both three, growing up, but admitted she was glad to have people to support her.
She told the Sunday Mirror newspaper's Notebook magazine: "Every little bit of a child's life counts, every memory, every moment. I can never have this time back.
"But it's a luxury to be able to have someone there. I don't know how people do it - I was breastfeeding in tandem.
"I did everything I could, but I couldn't have done this without extra help. I'm grateful. I have two people who help a lot."
Meanwhile, Mariah revealed she doesn't live out her diva image at home, but joked her daughter outshines her in that regard.
She added "I'm always in sweatpants. But I may wear a high-heeled pump with them ... A slipper with a puff.
"I have so much fun with Miss Monroe, as I call my daughter, and she is - even though we don't like to use this word - a natural-born diva, darling.
"She walks in my heels, she's in my lingerie closet. She has me beat by a mile."

Lea Michele posts birthday tribute to Cory Monteith

Lea Michele has posted a touching tribute to late boyfriend Cory Monteith on his birthday today (11.05.14).
The 'Glee' star described the actor, who died in July last year of a drug overdose, as having "the biggest heart and most beautiful smile" and shared a photograph of the pair together.
The black and white image, posted on Lea's Twitter page, shows the couple sharing a joke, and she accompanied it with the caption: "The biggest heart and most beautiful smile.. In all of our hearts.. We love you so. Happy Birthday. (sic)"
Fans showed their support for Lea and claimed they too were still "heartbroken" over the actor's death.
One wrote: "This photo broke my heart. i miss him so much. Stay strong love i love you. Happy birthday angel Cory. (sic)"
Cory, 31, who starred in 'Glee' with Lea, was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room just months after checking himself into rehab for substance abuse.
A friend close to the star claimed he was "healthy and in great spirits" just two days before he passed away.
Lea, 27, previously spoke about her boyfriend's death at the Teen Choice Awards.
She said: "He was very special to me and also to the world. And we were lucky to witness his incredible talent, handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart.
"So whether you knew him personally or just as Finn Hudson [in 'Glee'], Cory reached out and became a part of all of our hearts - and that's where he'll stay forever."

Selena Gomez trying to erase Justin Bieber

Selena Gomez is trying to "erase" Justin Bieber from her life.
The 21-year-old pop star, who has had an on/off relationship with the 'Boyfriend' hitmaker for a few years, is reportedly attempting to forget the 20-year-old singer so she can move on with her life.
According to HollywoodLife, while Selena was shooting her Adidas Neo commercial in New York City last month, she asked for all traces of Justin to be removed from her working environment and didn't even want to say his name.
A source said: "A few of the camera guys names were Justin and her team asked [if] their names be changed so she didn't have to say the name Justin."
The request came just a few days after the pair were spotted hanging out together in McAllen, Texas, before going to a dance studio to rehearse.
Meanwhile, Justin has been linked to a number of beauties, since the pair reportedly had a "huge fight", including 18-year-old model Yovanna Ventura and Selena's friend Kylie Jenner.
But Selena isn't bothered by the rumours and claims Justin can date whomever he likes.
A source added: "If he wants to date [a] teenager like Kylie or a wannabe model, then let him. She's done and moving on from the broken promises and drama."

Molly Smitten-Downes misses out on Eurovision win

Britain's Eurovision Song Contest entry Molly Smitten-Downes came in 17th place on Saturday night (10.05.14).
The previously unknown 27-year-old singer performed her self-penned song 'Children Of The Universe' dressed in a stunning dress and received 40 points from voters in 26 countries.
British voters gave their highest score of 12 points to Austria's entry, drag queen Conchita Wurst, who went on to win the competition.
She is known as the country's "bearded lady" and sang 'Rise Like A Phoenix', claiming: "We are unstoppable", as she collected her award on stage.
Although Mollie missed out on the top spot, she had plenty of support on Twitter with followers describing her performance as the "best song of the night".
